Attention Publix Management: Thank you so much for fixin the Chicken!!! Arrrr! :)... We stopped buying the chicken wings bc we had a issue with them being undercooked b4. However, we love your store & location we have never had any other issues & the service is always excellent :) So this past visit we decided to try the Whole Fried Chicken! And boy are we glad we did! The fried chicken is Amazballs! We LOVE the fried Chicken! We got there early to pick some up to go to the beach, we got a pack freshly fried & it smelled so yummy we had to dig in as soon as we got to the beach! Arrrr! It was still hot from the fryer, super crispy, seasoned to perfection & so moist inside Ohmygosh! Simply divine. The best piece of Fried Chicken I have ever had in my life. The chicken breast was what Fried Chicken dreams are made of. I will never forget my favorite "Fried Chicken man day" at the beach! Arrrr! lol My Captain, "Chicken man" loved the fried chicken so much we stayed all day, he swam in high seas, snorkeled the ocean deeps and ate the whole box! Arrrr! Chicken man totally had a blast! He swam in high surf! Ate a chicken thigh! Swan in high surf! Ate another chicken thigh! Chased some fly away floats in super high winds down the beach, ate a chicken leg! He double dipped in the Fried Chicken box so many times I had to fight "Chicken man" over the last Wing! Arrrrr! :)... When we got home, Chicken man had to take a nap! Slept like a baby. When he woke up, the first thing he said was "Boy that was some good Fried Chicken, what a great day we had at the beach! Can't wait till next weekend!" Chicken Man has finally found his Gold! Arrr! "Public Golden Fried Chicken" :)... We had a great time at the beach, good food always makes great times. Memorable times. I know I will never forget Fried Chicken Day with Chicken man! Arrr! That day will forever be ingrained in my memory. LOL So much fun! :)) Thank you so much Publix! Chicken Man & I really appreciate you fixing the fried chicken issues. Ordered a chicken tender wrap online for lunch this week. My sub was ready five minutes before pick up time which I was thankful for. The wrap was huge and filled with tenders. They typically do not cut your wraps when you order online, I wish there wax a button to specify if I want it cut in half or not. read more

Very clean store and stocked well. The prices are higher, but hey, you're on the island; it's to be expected. All of the employees are available. They literally stand at a place throughout the store in case you need assistance. That's so helpful for non residents. They have a fresh soup counter. I got the wild mushroom bisque and the lobster bisque. Fantastic! I may have to go back. They have a good stock of pool and ocean toys; much better than other grocery stores near by. They also have sunscreen (the good stuff: Sun Bum), flip flops and clothing. Friendly service and a nice environment. read more

Any Publix we go to is always clean and their employees are always very friendly. This was no exception.

Relatively close to Pensacola Beach, we passed by for a bathroom break and to purchase some supplies for our ongoing road trip. Bathroom was pretty clean and it was easy to find everything we needed. Admittedly though we did have to ask an employee where one of our items in our shopping list was. This Publix seemed to be a bit different from the ones I'm used to. All in all, it made for a decent stop. We were in and out and on our way to Alabama right after this. read more

I love grocery shopping In Publix while we are in Florida. This Publix is close to Pensacola Beach where we were staying, and the staff were very very friendly. So much that I was startled that unknown to me an employee followed me to my car to get my basket to return it to the store. Wow! Great customer service. Also love their pharmacy. I had to get a script refilled and it was done quickly and no issues. Yes, Publix cost more but worth paying for quality fruit, meat, and veggies. The fruit was fresh and an abundance of veggies. I really liked the deli sandwich bar...many selections. Staff wore Facemasks, and were constantly cleaning. read more

Their prices aren't as cheap as my favorite store at home, but I had a nice visit to this Publix while on vacation. Everyone who worked there was friendly. The potatoes and watermelon we purchased was fresh. I tried their popular fresh made deli sandwiches and it was good. I custom ordered the Italian sandwich and it was stuffed. It was $9.69 for the sandwich and I was able to share it with my husband. We also ordered the chicken tenders and fried chicken thighs from the hot foods section and it was a bad idea. My kids didn't like the tenders and our thighs were bland. They were crunchy and smelled yummy but they were needed some seasoning. I had to make a homemade dipping sauce for the chicken to taste good. They had the ice cream I was looking for and there aisles were organized. I got a coupon for creating an account with Publix. It was $5 off a $30 purchase. 0 Overall, Publix had everything I needed. I would go here again next time I lodge nearby during vacation. read more

This is strictly for the bakery. We've been getting specialty cakes and key lime pies here for 20 years, but never reviewed. The key lime pies are truly great. It's amazing how many people comment on them when we serve them and how many others get this pie when they want to serve for someone else. The specialty (birthday, anniversary, etc) cakes are all very well done, quality cake and icings and served with a smile. read more

First as someone who only visits Florida once every year or so I love Publix. I always look forward to going to this supermarket. This was my first time in this location but just like all the others the Store was clean as new and every employee seemed to love their jobs. I went early in the morning and the smell of fresh Sourdough bread baking. When I asked the bakery lady she confirmed and asked if I wanted her to slice a loaf for me. I said I will take 3 and they were hot when I got to our rental. They are still not doing the samples at the deli counter but they have great meats and cheeses. read more

This is the worst 'filet' I have ever had in my life. My husband and I went to Publix today to pick some nice filets from the precut market and instead received sticky goo. Everything looked fine on the outside, but then we cooked the meat and cut into it. It was just mush. When touched it stuck to your fingers and felt like something your kids slime. Disgusting. I have had (on multiple occasions) the most negative interactions with a customer service associate named MELINDA at this store. She is unprofessional and discourteous. She is visibly irritated during every interaction and acts like you are an unwelcome burden to be shopping there. It has happened so frequently that I've chosen to stop shopping at Publix completely. The first time I've went there in months and (like all the previous times) she has absolutely no regard for the customer in front of her and has no problem gossiping and talking bad about other customers. This behavior was not only upsetting but also contrary to the standard of customer service I expect from Publix. She is extremely demeaning and anything but helpful and if I could give ZERO stars then I absolutely would. I would hope that Publix values its customers and chooses to maintain a high level of professionalism, rather than allowing their customer service staff to belittle customers. read more

I ordered a birthday cake. I wanted the same cake I'd ordered from this same Publix bakery two years ago. As a reference, I took a picture with me of the previous cake. The only different thing I wanted was the top of this cake to be left plain white. I wanted every other part of the cake to be the same as the one from two years ago. I asked for extra dark purple frosting that I'd need to use after I got the cake home. I did receive a clamshell of extra frosting. It's lilac. Lilac. I asked for dark purple. I got lilac. Also, the cake that was supposed to be dark purple is actually royal blue. What a joke. If I hadn't been in a pinch and needing this cake right away I wouldn't have accepted the sorry product I paid for. I've used this bakery for five cakes over the last two years. Never again. I don't know what happened but this is the ugliest, most wrong cake I've ever ordered and received. I'm adding pictures so you can see the differences in the cake I got two years ago and what I got today. Also, you'll see the extra frosting I got and how it's not dark purple. I'm embarrassed to serve this at a birthday party. You can't get good service anymore. read more

Expect premium prices on most items. It's the closest grocery store to Pensacola Beach so it's where we stopped for groceries. The employees are friendly and there's a nice assortment of fresh and organic items. The deli has a delicious rotisserie "mojo" chicken, and the bakery has tasty guava pastries, and muffins. Only issue was their signature large tiramisu was the worst we've ever had! (The texture was of cornbread with sweet syrup drenching it. The flavors were all off too. Not sure what happened when this was baked but it was $13 in the trash.) read more

This is a convenient location. It is the closest grocery store to Pensacola beach. It is a typical good grocery store. The produce looks good, the staff are friendly, it's big, well lit, and it's not over priced. We were able to make dinner out of the motel microwave with a combination of pre-packaged foods from here. (It wasn't a terrible dinner either. We had chicken chow mein from the freezer, salad from a bag, and frozen broccoli florets seasoned with some of the extra sauce from the chow mein. In the end it was a decent cheap, easy, and healthy meal). read more

Publix Market is the only game in town in this part of Florida and they take advantage of it. The prices are as much as 25-100% higher than other markets. It is outrageous. I visited the Publix in Largo, Florida and purchased vegan bagels I always get. I paid more than Whole Foods. Then when I went to repurchase them here in Pensacola, they were DOUBLE the price. That's right folks, double!! How are they getting away with what is clearly price gouging. The employees are friendly enough and I only hope these insane prices are reflected in their pay. They are a minimum of $1 higher on every item I am used to buying and often more than that. It's nuts. I guess people here are just used to it. This area offers very few options and as a home chef and foodie it's very challenging to shop outside of Publix. But I'm gonna find a way. PUBLIX treat your customers with more respect and stop gouging them. read more

My wife and I stopped in here for some travel supplies while visiting Pensacola Beach. It is a very large, full-service supermarket. It has bright, clean aisles , and the service people were courteous and friendly. It was the perfect place to stop for groceries and drinks for our hotel room in Pensacola Beach hotel room which is very close by. read more

If I could give this store zero stars I would. Let me tell you the story. So we rented a condo for a month and drove into town to get groceries and necessities within an hour of getting into town. Publix is the first stop off the toll bridge, so we just stopped there. My wife nor myself enjoy grocery shopping. So we do some serious damage in the store and run up a tally of just under 1,000 bucks. After a 10 hour drive with two small children I tell my wife to load the kids up and I will check out and then I'll load the car. So the check proceeds to check me out and gives me the total. Like I said, it was just under a thousand. I slide my credit card---declined... no biggie, I'm a long way from home I'm sure it's a security thing. I'll use another one. Enter second credit card----declined. Damn, weird. Enter third card---declined. Ok fine, pull out the ole trusty debit card. Bam.. declined. The checker is now looking at me like I'm a deadbeat because I ask her to suspend the transaction so I can go get my wife... so my wife comes in like she's queen of the manor. Credit card 1-- declined... credit card 2 declined. These aren't shared cards so we are now at 6 cards declined and counting. Finally, my wife pulls out the only 1,000 in cash we brought and paid for the groceries. Here's the kicker... Publix credit system had been hacked. That particular location had been told not to accept any credit transactions at 10am according to the Corporate at Publix. Every time one of our cards was run, it didn't just decline it.. it suspended the card. So there we were 400 miles from Home with no credit cards, and no cash. We had to literally open up a bank account in Pensacola and wire money from our account to get through the next two weeks. It was a nightmare! We had to get a friend to check our mail and then fedex us a new card. All of this could have been avoided by a 3X5 card saying (no credit cards at this time). read more

This is one my favorite Publix locations. It's one of the largest grocery stores I've ever been in. LONG aisles fully stocked with tens of thousands of items. But don't get the wrong idea, each aisle is generously spacious wide enough for three shopping carts at once. The deli counter was friendly and there was hardly any wait at all in the checkout lane. Of course, each staff member was friendly and you can't beat the location -- right off the main road in Gulf Breeze, FL. Oh, and they have tons of beach supplies, too! read more

The Gulf Breeze Publix pharmacy staff is well below average. For a flu shot, they told us it would take just a minute, multiple times. We waited 25 minutes before they started calling us in for the shot. Called them a day later to ask about Shingles vaccine cost, and the not-real-friendly guy said they cant help me without me coming in person to fill out a form and waiting for processing time. (Ridiculous...They already have all my insurance info). (Whereas when I called Walmart, they immediately looked me up and told the cost, and were very friendly.) read more

Great location, great selection, great staff and best of all... they made the GREATEST wedding cake for my daughter's destination wedding. We rented a condo nearby and were unsure of how the cake would turn out... turns out better than any specialty baker could make! It was incredibly tasty and absolutely stunning... so much so that it brought me to tears when I first saw it! I recommend this store for anything and everything because I had the best experience with them. I also went there SEVERAL times during my stay and they had everything we needed! Publix opened in Gulf breeze several years ago taking out the cool sea shell store and some other eclectic spots. At first, it was impossible to get into, but a much needed traffic light has fixed this issue. I always loved the old Delchamps and this sterile giant, well-lit supermarket is clean and pretty, but offers the character off a Holiday Inn Express. (hmm....maybe, this was the target clientele.) It beats shopping down the street in Wal Mart, but then again almost anything beats Wal Mart! read more
