That's one of my pet peeves; I really like to know what something costs before I get to the register. The layout of the store is pretty difficult to navigate. Aisles are quite narrow and boxes of product are laid out in front of shelving, I assume to be stocked on the shelves, but who knows? Products are not that well organized either. Refrigerators and freezers are placed in different areas of the store as are dry goods and produce. Kind of a scavenger hunt... I'll probably be back. Bailey's is moi #1 favorite place to shop in Pensacola…read more When I first purchased moi Surf Shack here in Pensacola I planted several orange, grapefruit, lemon/lime citrus trees etc., all from Bailey's. Moi favorite fruit is Mandarins. I love Mandarins & Bailey's had a miniature one that I purchased in 2023 that I planted in a very large pot. It's doing so fabulous & produced its first harvest of fresh organic Mandarins just in time for our Thanksgiving holiday. The Organic Mandarins from the miniature tree aren't mini at all, they are yuge, super acidic & super juicy tasting. The best Mandarins I have ever had, and I grew them myself. I also made all my own homemade organic fertilizer for them out of kitchen scraps, banana peels & egg shells etc., they are truly delicious. OuiOui :)... All the plants I have purchased from Baileys are doing great, however, the Miniature Mandarin Tree is the show stopper. If you love Mandarins, I highly recommend the Miniature Mandarin Tree. OuiOui. Bailey's has tripled in size since I first started shopping there. Now, there are two more lots with tons of Christmas trees & tons more plants. The produce section has also grown to triple in size & they are now carrying tons more inventory, gourmet goods, culinary utensils & cookware etc., LOVE the specialty items. I'm so excited to see what Bailey's develops with the new additional, outbuildings & extra lots with extra parking. It looks so beautiful as Bailey's has always done a great job with the Nursery & nursery plants. What really sets Joe Patties apart is the quality. Nothing compares to the freshness of their fish and seafood. If you feel like you're paying a little more, just know that when you cook it properly at home, the quality more than justifies the price. One tip: if you're getting steamed shrimp, skip the pre-steamed option. Go to the counter, pick out the shrimp you want, and have them steam it fresh for you. Definitely grab one of their tubs of garlic butter and herbs and have them add half or the full amount depending on how much you're getting. I got the Argentine shrimp, about a pound and a half, and had them use half the butter. No one in my group expected it to be as good as it was. I set the plate down and it was gone in less than five minutes. I was lucky to even get three pieces for myself. We also purchased a whole grouper and had them fillet it for us. We seasoned it with their Everglades rub, and I have to admit it was probably the best grouper I've ever had in my life. The freshness makes all the difference. We grill often and have made grouper before, but it's usually been frozen, and it never comes out anywhere near this good.
