First of all, our batteries and propane tanks were stolen - they gave us no assistance to track down a thief or give us any help in replacing them. They just asked if we had "Public" Insurance - which we did not and never realized we needed it. Then when we went to pick up our trailer today the speed boat parked behind us has backed the propeller right into our trailer and made a hole in our brand new trailer. Again - public was no help at all in helping us track the owner of the boat and get this fixed. NEVER rent here - its a bad part of town and they are no help and its not a secure place. read more

Do not recommend this place at all. I store my ATV here, it was broken in to on their property and they stole everything inside of it. The only thing I got from them was "we encourage you to file a police report and get with your insurance". You pay them monthly to store your belongings and insurance won't cover anything that was stolen while it was on their property. read more

Absolutely horrible experience I rented my storage unit hours before I showed up and it wasn't ready it wasn't open for me to get into it I checked the time to see if they were still open they work cuz it is now only 7:32 but I've been sitting here since about 5:00 and nobody has acknowledged us there's a car outside back of the office so I know somebody's in there plus I walked by and the blinds were open and then when I walked by again they had closed them and I had seen somebody in there they refuse to answer or unlock the office door which is highly unprofessional if you ask me I have a loaded truck up that was supposed to be returned today and I cannot return it now because it is a 26-inch truck that is full of stuff and I can't afford to pay for the truck again this is extremely unprofessional and I don't think whoever is here should be working on this property anymore because if it's going to stay a certain time then they need to be open until that time and then hiding from customers is just completely unprofessional this has been a waste of my time and money and I suggested you do not run with this place don't run with them not only that but if you read the reviews that their management or their their employees are known for stealing from people I don't think this place is worth it to be honest with you read more

This location (Romero) was robbed 3-3-22. At least 8 RV batteries were stolen and vandalized. No compensation was offered for to the property owners. Currently no cameras are located in the back. They didn't even know they were robbed. read more

They helped me and said account shows as being open and suggested i reload the app. i had to return home because some of the information i need was on my desktop.I then discovered when i had got home i had used the wrong phone number. This place is awful. I've been with them for 2.5 years and they raised my rent numerous times without warning or explanation. It started at $88 a month, then it jumped to $120, then to $150, now it's up to $205! For a 5x10 unit! Moving out ASAP. read more

On April11, 2022 I filed a police report after my RV had the drivers side window smashed and the radio/back up camera screen, etc. were stolen from PUBLIC STORAGE, 3851 N. ROMERO RD.,TUCSON. I reported the break in and theft to management. They told me they wouldn't pay anything and that it was my responsibility. About six weeks earlier someone had stolen my power cord while my RV was stored at the facility. I asked management if they would reimburse for the rent I had paid after my vehicle was permanently removed, post break in, since there was still time left in the month. They never responded. BOTTOM LOINE: I had to pay over $2,000.00 to repair my RV after it sustained the damage from the break ins and theft of the property at PUBLIC STORAGE. Awful experience! We stored our camper van at this location in January of 2020 and came back months later than expected, when we were vaccinated, in April of 2021. When we decided to use this place, we were told there was a camera pointed at the vehicles. We covered and wrapped the van in a tarp. We were worried about pack rats getting in, but it was a human who mostly likely took off the tarp, broke in and stole tools, the stove, camping supplies and more things. When asked later, we were told there was no camera pointed that way. The staff was rude, unsympathetic and unwilling to acknowledge that anything had changed, including that the tarp was off, the back door was open. Also the Public Storage payment system is awkward. The website wouldn't let us sign on when a credit card expired. it was hard to reach a human on the phone and the staff on site was useless. read more

Public Storage is the worst company to deal with if you are a veteran or a member of the armed forces. They have no respect for the men and women who have served their country or who are currently serving their country. They allow people to buy units that have military memorabilia that the service member spent a career collecting and make no effort to make sure that those items are returned to the military member. All they care about as a company is themselves and have no respect for the armed forces. I should have taken the other reviews seriously, but I didn't. Because of that, I lost thousands of dollars worth of furniture and clothing. Not only is this place infested in rats, but all my stuff was stollen as well. I did nothing wrong, and all my payments were paid in time, but after the second month, all my stuff went missing. I brought it up with the manager, but he didn't help, didn't seem interested, and just acted immature the whole time. I think he might have had an intellectual disability, so I asked him if there was anyone else I could speak to, but he couldn't even do that. Eventually, I gave up. I have a hard time understanding why a company would systematically raise the rent during a pandemic or at anytime for that matter. I was with PS for years in California. I never had a rate increase ever. I called PS when moving from Louisiana to Arizona and we agreed on a rate at that time. Fast forward to when the rent went up the first time. It jumped from $136.66 to $173.77. I called for an explanation and was told that they evaluate every six months what they feel you should be paying. What happened to our original agreement from booking online and confirming over the phone? Now the latest updated rent is $223.26? Shady operation at best. Look elsewhere for your storage needs. read more

I moved my RV into storage and within a month was ROBBED. Seems someone had a pass key and got into all the bays. Thankfully, the passkey did not work on the deadbolt into the main unit. I saw several storage bays opened and flapping about on the nearby RVs. I had a $250 air compressor stolen and knew I had to get out before other things were taken. I was told there were no cameras back at the RV storage area. I was given no "I'm sorry" from the clerk - just "Why don't you file a police report?" I was told by another man who was getting his RV ready to depart the facility that rents were going up over $25 per month! I had a horrible one month experience at the Public Storage on Romero in Tucson. They need cameras; and they need to monitor the area more often. I wouldn't trust storing my vehicles there! read more

To access the property, the key pad is on the opposite side of vehicle. You have to get out of vehicle to enter code. Going in and out of property. Most storage units only have a regular door (mine is 10 x 10)and not a roll up door making it harder to get larger items in and out. Office staff are not kind or sincere. read more

We were storing our Trailer there, lock was cut off the spare tire and it was stolen, someone tried to pry the door open, thankfully they were not succesful. We notified the office (in person) and were told the manager would contact us. No call from the manager, the office person seemed unconcerned. We could see where the culprits were coming over the barbed wire - needless to say our trailer is no longer there. read more

Public Storage on Prince & Romero has been our storage unit for 3 years and have always been helpful and friendly. But what really made this location outstanding was the customer service offered by Stephanie and going the extra mile by the district manager Wes. I was flying in from out of state but didn't have my key. Stephanie helped me with options on how to gain access and Wes went out of his way to help me. He met me before normal business hours so the movers could help me load the truck and I could start a early road trip. Highly recommend this location because of staff! read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PUBLIC STORAGE/THIS LOCATION ESPECIALLY. I am appalled at how terrible their customer service is, not to mention their ability to call customers back in a timely manner/if at all. I'm wondering if they ever check their message machine at all?? I am a college student and I was told over the phone in July that since I was moving all of my stuff out of storage on August 5, that I could receive a prorated rate for the month of August and get most of my $118 back. But no, that was not the case at all! I checked out on August 5 and was told that since I had set up Auto Pay I can not receive any of my money back. But "don't worry I have the rest of the month to use the facility if I want to" like no I'm moving out for a reason and I have no use for the storage unit at all. It just amazes me, like really you can't in any way refund me the prorated rate?? I doubt that they don't have that ability considering it was so easy to take money from my account in the first place. All I needed was a summer storage place to store my furniture until I came back to school to finish up my last year of college and I will continue to tell people to avoid this location and this business. I will also be disputing the charge at my bank. Wes Taylor, the supposed district manager NEVER answers his phone nor does he call people back when you leave a message so don't even bother. I used the online reservation system for the Labor Day weekend promotion. Price shown was $22.50/month. Only after giving my information did it say there would be an Admin charge of $24.00. Received confirmation email clearly stating "Total cost to move in": $46.50. Once I arrived I was taken to be shown the unit, only then was I told I had to buy the "secure lock cylinder" for $19.99, but at least I could keep the useless cylinder once I moved out! (who the hell needs a lock cylinder that costs $20 and can only be used at their facility?). Then when we got back to the office I was informed I would have to buy their insurance also, for at least $15.00/month. My $46.50 move in price had jumped to $81.50! TOTAL RIPOFF AND VERY DECEPTIVE PRICING!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I ended up going to CubeSmart on Orange Grove, much more upfront with information. read more

Without doubt this overall company is running a scam. a little over a month ago I went in to pay my bill, even asking are there any more charges I need to take care of. The comp screens I saw showed everything paid up and good, and by all we could see I was good. Yesterday I get a call saying I owe 250 dollars and my stuffs about to be auctions, and in talking to the manager Stephanie to figure it out, it turned out there had been a $85 charge still left unpaid, the day I was asking if there were any more fees. Stephanie even had to go in about 3 layers deep to see what the computer screen had shown to the clerk at the desk. So basically ive been screwed for a couple hundred etra dollars in rentals and fees in 1 month, after being told I was all paid up and current, because the corporate computer setup didn't show the clerk that there was a $85 charge to pay! This is by FAR the WORST storage company I've ever dealt with, Im packing my stuff out and moving to Uhaul on oracle road. DO NOT RENT FROM ANY "PUBLIC STORAGE" FACILITY!!!!! read more

The two stars that I'm giving for this location are for the representative Estella who was enormously helpful and the single redeeming aspect of this location. As for the policies of Public Storage, this is where my opinion diverges. I ended up going with Public Storage because of a promotion they offer where the first month is $1 (plus admin fees). I was aware my total would come closer to $23, but they also REQUIRE you to purchase THEIR insurance. The least expensive offered is $11. My issue with this is that I think it should be the consumer's prerogative whether they cover their own belongings or not. I also think people should be allowed to purchase insurance elsewhere that they can show proof of with Public Storage if that is what they prefer. Then, they have recently changed the locks required for their locations. It was the case that padlocks were required, but more recently they have changed to lock cylinders with keys. They sell these for a whopping $18. Come on Public Storage. Going forward, I will likely take my business elsewhere. You're not the only rental kids in town! read more
