Terrible unit that is overpriced, undermaintained, and infested with rats and cockroaches. Every 3-6 months they try to double the rent, either forcing you to pay this absurd price, or move into a new unit a few feet away at the initial starting price, just to repeat this cycle again in 3-6 months. Our belongings are constantly being damaged by the decrepit state of the unit, if our items aren't chewed up and peed on by cockroaches and rats, then they are coated in melted insulation from the roof. read more

I NEVER ADD REVIEWS BUT THIS IS NEEDED. unless you want to pay a monthly storage fee which they will keep trying to add fees onto out of nowhere, and on top they couldn't even protect our items!! this place should be cheaper needs alot of work first day i came in rental door was damaged contacted upper management they yet to fix it. Let's not even talk about the ceiling and mold that is present makes you wonder if all your items are even secured or just essentially going to have to end up getting thrown away due to mold exposure. RATS IN THE UNITS!!! Stay far far away. Property manager couldn't even be bothered to speak up on the phone when I told him I couldn't hear him. Pointless to try and communicate with them so I will be pursuing a chargeback with my bank. Raised the monthly rental fee over $30 in 6 months. I have called several times since Hurricane Milton, and I have left so many messages for someone to call me. Because my rent has continued to go up to 400.00. I have been there six years and counting, and I can not get into my unit because of the rust on my lock to see if any damage has been done to my things. I'm looking to relocate my valuables to a climate control location, hopefully with better customer support and a better area. Today, I called corporate in Glendale California and got disconnected, and they didn't even call back. I would like to speak to a manager in the corporate office. No one who has been paying this kind of money for all of these years should be treated with disrespect. I have used them a few times at different locations and had the worst experience each time so even changing facilities it still was bad.I was locked inside the storage place because the access code they gave me did not work so I had no access to get In or out without other residence coming and going. I made numerous calls to them to help and no return call and person on the property said she could not give me access. I got in and my lock with the key jammed in it was inside my unit. When I tried to get the key out it would not budge. I also had two guys at the storage place try to help me with no luck..Absolutely insane so my stuff was not secured and was eventually auctioned off after a month of nonpayment because I had no access to my things after I left the night I put it all in storage. Then the other location on 56th st in Tampa my stuff was ruined. Someone literally threw dirt over the top of my unit and stuff on one side was all dirty. My daughter removed my things and they closed my account without any notice. I had to get rid of a lot of stuff despite having insurance because of the roaches, mice, mold etc. it's not worth using public storage. Plus I have numerous bags of items missing from storage. My storage looked like someone ransacked it and took what they wanted. All my stuff was knocked over or taken out of boxes and totes just a complete mess. Save your money and get a better facility for your belongings. Pay the extra to store it or you'll be spending more to replace things because their insurance is a joke to get more money. Your things are not covered and the insurance won't accept your claim even though it falls under their guidelines. NEVER AGAIN will I use public storage. read more

If I could write zero stars I would there are rat problems there do not get a storage unit there they ate up all of my things in the storage unit clothes, shoes, my couch, and so much more and when I went to the office to say something the worker acted like it was normal. Public Storage on 56th is the slum lord of storage places. The place was full of rats, first of all. They destroyed property of mine that can't be replaced. The units are not climate controlled, but there was some kind of spray-on insulation along the roof that fell all over my stuff and made a nasty mess. The wall between my unit and a neighbor's had a hole in it and they sometimes threw stuff into mine. There was no 24-hour access at that dump. They treated me like crap. They locked me out of my unit even though I was paid up. They offered no compensation for that. But, of course, THEY demand compensation if you're late with a payment. I could go on. I was there way too long, and I'm so glad to be out of there, forever. I needed a place in a hurry and kept my stuff there because moving back out was an epic undertaking I could only afford to do when I left the state. That sucked, because once I was already there, other places offered clean, climate-controlled units for similar prices. I regretted every month at that dump. Avoid that place like the plague, because that's pretty much what it is. read more

I rented a space online for the facility on Gandy. I received a text that my space was ready today with the unit# and the lock that I purchased was inside the unit. When I went to check my 10 x 15 unit on the 3rd floor, the office was closed and the elevator did not work. 2 other tenants walked by and informed me that it fid not work for 2 days after Easter. I climbed the stairs, got the lock out and went back to the office, which was open. The lady informed me that there were no spaces available on the ground floor so I canceled the space and asked for a refund. She refunded the cost of the lock but said I would have to call corporate for the rest. Corporate tells me the administration fee is not refundable. So bottom line, they rented me a space that was unusable, and kept my money after wasting 4 hours of my time. read more

they will transfer you then stop answering the phone if you ask for a refund. I ordered online never moved in because they didnt send me the code until 24hrs after i needed it. I called was transferred to custermer service only to be transferred back to the main office who for a week straight screened my call. I dont recommend this place as it seems your stuff would be unsafe if theyre caught up on keeping people money no telling how fast theyll sale your things. read more
