As of the end of March 2023, the gate is still unsecured and is never closed. I had escalated my concerns to local management multiple times and they didn't have any sense of urgency around this and kept saying the issue was to be fixed "next week". One of the employees even said to me "well, you haven't been robbed". They also have had issues with their lights being on at night which has added to my concerns regarding their security. They do have cameras but this does not prevent anyone from entering or exiting the facility. I even escalated to their corporate office multiple times and no one ever acknowledged my concerns or got back to me. If you search online you'll see this has been an issue in other locations and people have been robbed. There is a new manager at this location who does want to improve things but she has limited control and it's clear this company does not care about the local security issues and I'd highly recommend avoiding them at all cost.

Based on the many bad reviews I see this is how they operate on a daily basis and do not care as long as they are collecting the usurious, undisclosed and unauthorized fees they charge. They lie, pull bait & switch antics, change quoted prices and every single employee from Aaron to Julio to Amber to Jessica are nasty, rude & ignorant, not to mention AWFUL at their jobs. They all back up each other's bad behavior and lies every chance they get. They are also terrible at what they are in business for because many of my stored belongings were damaged and broken, including a vintage coffee table they stored on its side and then piled heavy boxes on top of it, breaking one of the legs. Now the truth about this company. 1. DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND WAY MORE MONEY THAN YOU HAVE TO AND DEAL WITH DIFFICULT MANAGEMENT. For the move out, the crew showed up 4:45 on a Friday evening, 15 minutes before they closed for the weekend. The following expenses resulted from their unavailability. 2. DO NOT STORE WITH THEM. It was at about 8PM, 3 hours after the movers had started packing up the truck, that I learned that the unload took as much time as the packing up, since my belongings were to be stored in small crates that needed to be carefully loaded to maximize the small space. And if $50/month/crate sounds cheap, know that my home (I lived alone!!!) belongings filled 7 of them, for a whopping $350/month (At a storage place same square footage would have been more like $200/month with a quick and easy move in, right there saving a fortune in hourly charges of $180/hour) 2. THEY INSIST ON ALL MONEY UP FRONT...Like I'm going to stiff them when they have my entire home in their truck! Because I was unwilling to pay up front, hoping to be able to leave my belongings elsewhere after learning of the time-consuming unload (At $180/hour) they kept my stuff in the truck and were not available until Monday (Their fault, NOT mine as I tried to call them but they were closed. Remember, the movers showed up 15 minutes before closing on that previous Friday!) They could have/should have called me on Saturday to discuss why i had not paid and what I wanted to do. Clearly they did not because they were closed and had no intention of unloading the truck before zTuesday anyway! They attempted to charge me 4 days of storage on their truck at $200/night. Are you kidding me? Since THEY were unavailable to discuss this new development in my charge, and various options? 3. THEY CANNOT COUNT OR BE TRUSTED TO KEEP THEIR WORD. I was assured that the $350/month was for the 1st month and then would be a daily charge after that. When I was finally ready to move into my next home, I arranged the date (I must say that the owner did make special arrangements to accommodate my move in date. Kudos to Aaron) and as soon as the movers arrived, it was "pay up first' policy. And they attempted to charge me $385 for the partial month. Not only was this not a per diem charge (I was 4 days short of a month, thus should have been 26/30th of $350, or $303), but they could not even remember their normal rate and I had to argue for the $350/month charge (Remember, it was $50/month/crate and supposedly I had filled 7 of them.). I had to pay this $350+8 hours labor up front before they would open the doors of the truck. I was not comfortable paying in advance as that would necessitate trusting that they would refund the overpayment should it take less time. 4. THEY WILL TAKE EVERY SINGLE PENNY THAT THEY CAN. I paid the 8 hours and it took them 7 but they only refunded me $130, NOT $180+4% credit card charge, since it took them 10 minutes to get to me (They drive OLD slow trucks) That's when I asked for the refund on the overpayment on the storage but of course I was denied. Shocking! 4. Again the movers were amazing but I would HIGHLY recommend using another company that has good reviews. Did I mention that only after I began to see the untrustworthiness of this company, did I bother to look at the reviews (MOSTLY BAD and about 2 stars). Believe what you read from the public. DO NOT USE THIS STORAGE FACILITY!!…read more I've had my 10'×20' unit at what was once Wolcott Mini Storage since 2004, after being asked by my beloved mother to move home to assist her when her debilitating cancer threatened a move for her to a Nursing Home. That meant putting the majority of my belongings into storage, as there wasn't room for what I'd acquired during my divorce. Since I was between jobs at that time, my father offered to pay that monthly fee, which ended with my mother's passage. In 2006, my mom passed away, but a year later, my dad had major cardiac surgery at 87, after which his mental stability began to diminish. In 2011, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and admittance to a Nursing Home became a mandatory necessity. As his Conservator, I had to keep my things in storage, as mandated by Probate. When he passed in 2014, and the Estate was tied up in Probate until May 2017 due to the greed of a former family member, my movement from the facility to my home continues. SO, my parent's home became mine, and needed to be cleared out in order to move in MY belongings. This is a difficult task, both physically and psychologically, but is still a work in progress. Enter Moove In Self Storage at the end of March 2019, without any heads up from the owners of Wolcott Mini Storage. This new company is a huge conglomerate, with nothing more than profits in mind. After 15 years of storage with small incremental rates, effective July 1, 2019, Moove In has just imposed a huge monthly rate increase, from $145 to $170/month. Additionally, if your Homeowners Insurance does not provide coverage for your belongings located offsite, Moove In makes you purchase their mandatory renter's insurance, which covers very little and is expensive. Fortunately, my Homeowners covers me, but most don't, and once your things are there, moving them out is also expensive. In summation, since I was told by Moove In that an increased rate would happen "eventually", today I found that "eventually" really meant immediately. These people are difficult to work with, own storage facilities all over the Tristate area and beyond, and couldn't care less about anything but "Benjamins". Hence, you become a Unit Number, not a human being. I have no doubt that rental increases will become the norm, and am eager to get my things out of there ASAP. Again, DO NOT STORE ANYTHING AT MOOVE IN STORAGE. You're at their mercy until you're able to take your things back. Find better, temperature controlled (which I don't have; internal storage exceeds 140°F during the summer), storage. I wish I'd been prepared for this, so please take this review as a cautionary tale before it's too late.

I'm glad I took the storage space there and it was a reasonable price for a 5 by 5 it does not have weather proofing but it looks like there won't be problems holding out any snow or water and looks sealed enough to hold out rodents or major bugs. I asked to check out the space before I got it and Jennifer was glad enough to take the time to show me the space. All in all so far so good. I will update if any problems occur (knocks on wood)
