Do not rent from this place unless you are okay wjth them ridiculously raising your rent 400% within 1 year. I can understand needing to raise prices but raising someone's rent 400% within a year is crazy. People are living out of units with nails throughout the road/access way by the units. They also don't have a person on site to talk with you about any of this. Everything is virtual corporate communications. BUT SERIOUSLY, I wonder how many other customers were screwed and ripped off while we were in lockdown. What a joke! Here's what I've been going through for the past 2 months. I've been trying to deal with going thru and repacking my stiff it at my PUBLIC STORAGE LOCATION ON 70TH AND THOMAS. I found out that their McDowell location has a much cheaper rate per month, so I decided to move my things out and into the other location, with much lower rates per unit, and actualltthey honored the promos ! The reservations I made were online, and it said, "Pay the first month, and then the 2nd month is Free) However, they lost all three of my reservations and the promo deals weren't even included (they disapear somehow. You get a better deal at the PS location in South Scottsdale located on McDowell and 86th Street I moved in around the 3rd of October. When I pulled up the property, I noticed all the BLACK ROOF RAT POISON BOXES that were placed in between each and every unit. HMMM, I WONDER WHAT'S GOING ON???? I then opened my unit and saw all the damages immediately! There was a thick layer of dust on everything, too. We were covered from head to toe with this RAT feces and urine. They had a I seriously don't understand why we, as customers, weren't notified of this RAT INFESTATION , so we could decide what to do about our things. Everyone's content could have been moved, saved, and protected from the RAT and termite infestation and all the headaches from the damages would disapear and I would not be going through this is BULLSHIT RIGHT NOW! I'M SO MAD, I CANT EVEN TALK, I CAN ONLY TEXT! Please take note that when an individual decides to put their contents into a Storage Unit, they expect everything will be okay now and their things will be safe, dry and ready for pickup just the same. It should be exactly the same when you move out with no surprises, no damages and absolutely no devastation. Let me just try to provide you with a summation of all this crap. It's absolutely and quite crystal clear to see everything while here. It seems they shove it right up your ass here at PUBLIC STORAGE. They obviously dont care about their customers anymore.... it's just about the almighty $1.00 , which really doesn't amount to much at all anymore screw them! They are constantly advertising the $1.00 move in and offering ONLINE ONLY promos regarding the larger units like 10x15, 10x20 and so on. However, you pay the $145.00 (that's my rate) for that first month and you get the 2nd month for free. Pay close attention when you put anything into a storage unit.... make sure that it's clean, hope that they are honest and make sure property is well taken care of by the employees. Otherwise, you just might end up like me ...screwed over and not happy at all!! I had one more question, I asked if there were any lights in the units and he told me yes, but they aren't working right now, because these two electric companies on the property have been in a dispute for over a year about who should be providing the electricity where. He couldn't say when or if it will ever be turned back on. That's bullshit and they should not mention it as a perk if it doesn't work. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS STORAGE COMPANY!!!! I signed up for a space in one of the complexes. I had specific needs that I clearly articulated. A 10 x 10 space with a full width rollup door. I paid for the space online and went with a full load the next Morning to move in. There was not a full rollup door. There was a 2 1/2 foot wide rollup door. It would not work for me at all. I called up to get a refund and a different space and was told that the only thing that could be refunded was the cost of the lock. The reason was that I rented the space on the afternoon of the day before, and therefore couldn't be refunded. In what universe does this make any sense? It's a very clear rip off! If this is the Way, they treat people I can't imagine what else they're capable of. I have run my own business for close to 50 years. Never once have I ever treated a client/customer in this manner. It's not a way to run a business. Please don't use them. There are a lot of good deals out there on storage places. Try Cube Smart, they're awesome. read more

Wow, could not speak more highly of Public Storage. Not only was reserving a unit easy and fast, finishing the contactless information was just as easy. Filled everything out online then they prepared my unit and sent me everything I needed digitally to be able to access my unit day 1. They also called 1 day after to make sure I was able to access everything and didn't have any issues. Such a wonderful experience and great price. In representing my out-of-town son, I found this storage unit to be at the top of the list, especially for customer service. After the keys were lost, I went down to check the status of the items in storage and how to gain access. Debbie was on site (at the indoor storage across the street) and did a wonderful job of helping me figure out what needed to happen to gain access. She was pleasant, informative and very patient with me. She explained their procedures and made sure I clearly understood. I was able to access the locker within a few days, about a week earlier than expected, when the lock smith arrived. Definitely recommend and would go back to that location should there be additional storage needs. read more

I have had a storage unit here at this location for over two years now, and I loved the old management that this Public Storage had. When they recently which management I started to have a common problem with an older lady named Debbie who works here. She is very disrespectful, rude, and seems to snoop through other peoples units without a care in the world of the 'customer service' or 'professionalism' the staff is supposed to uphold and represent working at a company. I'm very upset, disappointed even with how this place is managed... Sucks I've really had to look into switching my unit to another location after two whole years of making my monthly payment to keep all of my very sentimental belongings safe in my unit.... read more

Have been renting a unit here for several years. The price is reasonable, however, if you want access to your unit, its not good. The door into the drive through has been broken for months. This leads to a very unsafe and unsecure situation. Hard to believe they can't get it fixed in 4+ months. Its often difficult to find a cart to move your stuff. I am guessing there are at most 4 of them. Originally this place was really good but with the change a year or so ago, its really gone down hill. Again decent price, bad access and service. Looking to move facilities in the next couple of months. read more

The facility manager (Anthony), was very unprofessional in dealing with me and my concerns. Recently, many units' doors and buildings were renovated. While performing the improvements, I was particularly inconvenienced. The contractor placed a substantial pile demolished material/debris in front of my unit and immediate neighbor's overhead doors. A pile of debris that prevented me from accessing my unit. I was unable to to get equipment, tools and materials necessary for my day's work. I placed a note at the storefront door asking to have access to my space. I returned that evening, after my work day, to an even bigger pile of debris. Now, I had no other choice than to put on my leather gloves and physically clear a space to my storage door. Wood framing materials, steel, corner metal, steel sheathing, trim, flashing, overhead door canopies and doors; all required moving so I could get to the content of my unit. Since, I had no response from my note. I decided, to move to a new storage yard. I went online and gave my termination notice. When one does so, the Public Storage accounting system removes the auto-pay feature on that account. Of course, this information is not presented to the leasee. I received a phone message from Anthony, asking for payment and what penalties were in order if payment was not received that day. I phoned back, that evening after work, and left a message about auto-pay. I then described the above details and asked for some compensation from Public Storage. A couple days later, my gate code was inoperable. Now, I couldn't gain access to the entire facility. The office wasn't open, so empty handed, I went to work. I drove 45 minutes back to the Public Storage that morning and had an ugly conversation with Anthony. I explained to Anthony, the above described: access issues, debris, my dissatisfaction, my hand-written note, no follow up, my decision to move out of the space, and now having no gate access. Anthony responded by calling me a liar. A Liar! "I have surveillance movies and you did nothing of the kind," Anthony said. "Let's watch the tape, " he continued and again said, "You are lying!" He explained why auto-pay cancelled. He also said I couldn't have access to my belongings until payment was made (6 days in arrears). I was then told to contact his supervisor with my complaint. His manager, Nathan White, traded phone messages with me, once. But, I received no subsequent followup or message reply. Anthony shouldn't have contact with the public until his medication regimen is tweaked and emotional health assessed. If loud personal insults, rudeness, and unprofessional customer dispute reconciliation are modus operandi for this company..... please take your business elsewhere. Anywhere else. read more

I couldn't even reach them via telephone neither could the gentleman that was working. this location with the new management switch to public storage seems like they have no obligations to nothing there other than to be there the cameras on site don't view anything what access points no hallways or units. read more

Worst customer service and management ever. Since the switch of ownership the price has gone up twice within 6 months. The door has been broken for over a month, the Drive-in AC side. Today I had enough and went to gather my things. I asked the lady what I needed to do to check out since I was moving my 10X10. Asked about pro rating the amount that amount of days that wasn't used. She said she could submit something but no guarantees. I said no problem I'll worry about it after I move all my stuff. 20 minutes later I show up with the Uhaul. Guess what, the door to the inside still broken, so I drove around back where it's been open for the past month(no added security hired btw) guess what it's closed too! Call the lady inside and she says, "all our doors don't work from the monsoon, it's out of my control!" Almost like she's dealt with customers not happy about this and didn't want me to complain. Too bad, I have freedom of speech and told her to call her manager, during the call I referred to the Public Storage employee as stupid. (Much more colorful of course) why wouldn't she tell me when I was asking about checkout?? My only thought was that she is too dumb or doesn't have the customer service skills to handle her job. I emptied my unit by walking through the entire middle doorways and out into the AZ summer sun! The cops showed up about 15-30 min later to ask what's happening. I told them the customer service sucks and I told them. They talked with the idiot lady inside(lizard pig well call her) and lizard pig and owner/supervisor just wanted me warned. If I speak like that anymore they would hold my stuff and call the cops for trespassing to get me arrested. Man that's terrible you say... it's gets better... I called in after to do my checkout like I told the cops I would. The guy now says he can put in a request for the prorated refund, but no guarantees. I told him I would need some form of confirmation that the request was submitted. He couldn't do that... he scrambled around and eventually hung up on me, I called back and left a voicemail. Horrible experience! Will never rent from ANY Public Storage facility again. Forced to buy a $20 lock that I can never use again ( you have to buy their funky round lock). Then rented the room and went back a week or so later to find that whole road was torn up in front of unit for repaving. Had to argue about not purchasing insurance- told I had to have it even though contract clearly states it is recommended, not required. Then, although checked out of unit on the 12th, told that there was no prorated fee for rest of month. Told I would receive email confirming vacating of unit in about an hour ....(never happened). I am fully expecting to have issues with trying to get rid of this room. Save yourself the hassle and go to a different storage company. It is obvious that this one is all about the Benjamin's and not the Customers! read more

I have had a storage unit for over 6 years here. Over the course of time they consistently upped my rent- starting at $30 and by they time I moved our it was $70 a month. This would be more understandable if they were renting the same size unity at this price, but that was not the case. I was being charged OVER market cost. They also changed the door over the course of my stay which left lots of wood dust all over my items. Upon my move out (because their associate gave me the wrong information) they charged me for the entire month PLUS a late fee, which I assume they rented and collected double payment on. Awful service after how much I have paid over the years. Very glad to be out of this unit. read more

I rented a small unit here for a month back in Nov 2019 and came back to rent a large unit for a month in May 2020. Both times, everything about the facility was clean, safe and well-maintained. This is hands down the best public storage facility I have used. It starts with the customer service. John is literally the man! Not only is he extremely clear & concise, but made the entire experience seamless and easy. I had a large L shaped couch moving in, and he gave me the dimensions of the unit and made sure I would be good to go. Found me a great priced unit as well which is always a plus. We went here in to assess what was in my mother-in-law's storage unit after her passing and dealt with Anthony. He was the rudest most heartless douchebag I have ever dealt with. I wouldn't come here if somebody paid me to nor would I ever use them for storage facility due to the lack of compassion and professionalism that I received today. I would NOT recommend this storage facility. After renting for six months my lock was cut off not once but THREE times due to replacing the door and "security issues" (not passing security inspection). Also my items were moved by whoever was working on the unit door. Not just moved a little but stacked from floor to ceiling in the very back of the unit. Unlawful entry and invasion of privacy!!
