I had a terrible experience with public storage and would strongly recommend not using it. We had issues with theft and with rat infestation. I rented a unit over the summer while I was out of state, and a few months in I received a call that my lock was loose. I called them back and was told that they had replaced my lock with one of theirs and that when I got to the unit I should ask for the padlock combination to open it. When I got back a few weeks later, I went to pick my things up and received a padlock code at the front desk, but then when I went to my unit there was no lock on it at all, and over 2,000 dollars of items had been stolen. I filed a claim with the orange door insurance company that they recommend you get (definitely do not use them) and they denied my claim, because in their contract they specifically say that they don't cover a claim if your lock wasn't on the door when items were stolen. Since then I've been going back and forth with insurance without any luck so far. Unfortunately, that's not all. Along with things being stolen, around 1,000 dollars of items were ruined with rat droppings. This location was infested with rats (we saw items from other units left on the side of the road, also covered in rat droppings, so it wasn't just my unit). This was also filed in the insurance claim and has also so far been ignored. So definitely, definitely do not use public storage. read more

We do NOT recommend this location! Items were stolen from our locker over the summer. In addition, the building has a serious rodent infestation problem. We found lots of rodent excrement in/on our belongings, and had to dispose of anything that couldn't be cleaned. read more

DO ANYTHING BUT USE THIS PLACE. Nours are fake, no dolly to use. cant ever get anybody on the phone. elevator doesn't work. WORST PLACE EVER

This place is in poor condition: 1. Emergency exit signs and detectors hanging from the ceilings, 2. "Climate" control doesn't work, 3. Blood on the elevator walls 4. Lighting housing in the elevator falling out and much more! read more

I very disappointed. I began renting in 01/2023 @.$114 monthly plus $15 insurance for a 10'x10' unit. They have increased my rate numerous times in the year ( 01/2023 $114, 07/2023, $144, 07/2024 $190) while advertising and renting the same size space at half the price online. When I called Public Storage customer service they were sarcastic and stated we can go up anytime we want. When I told them that I was exposing them online in a review they kept my price at same rate for three months now it has increase another $46. All rental unit the same size should be the same rate for all customers. read more

All was well with our move and storing. Just need a bigger drive through. Trucks were all over, parked all kind of ways. You couldn't get through to park your truck or vehicle. Had to wait until the other ppl were finished. Other than that smooth sailing. read more

Don't even bother. The access hours are until 9 pm but the oh so trusting management locks up all the carts when the office closes at 5 pm. Actually make that 4:30 since that's when they stop letting you use the carts. So if you're a normal person who works you'll never see a cart during the week. For an added benefit there are no signs anywhere telling you that you need to go to the office to get a cart. There are also no signs letting you know the hours the carts are available. And if you should happen to show up at 4:40 you get told "We don't give out carts 30 minutes before close" without even an "I'm sorry" or "It's company policy" just the statement followed by the clerk turning around and walking away. Long story short, you'd be better off stacking your stuff under an overpass and paying a homeless person to watch it then you would be using this place. read more

This facility is clean and accessible. I needed a climate controlled unit for a one bedroom apartment. The 10×15 was perfect at a pretty reasonable price. I have already suggested this Public Storage facility to several friends. read more

I will never use Public Storage again or recommend to anyone! I was told when renting that it would not be an issue unloading our things using a cart even after the office closed. We booked a unit on the second floor only with the understanding that we would have to carry a huge TV and mattress and would absolutely have to have a cart to do it. The customer representative ASSURED us it would not be an issue and the cart would be available to us after the office closed. That was definitely not the case at all! We got there only to find all of the carts locked up and no other way to transport our items upstairs. As we were new in town and would be moving into a hotel, we couldn't take the items with us and my poor husband was forced to carry everything up by himself as it was too heavy for me to assist. What should have taken a half an hour took 2.5 hours after an already exhausting 10 hour drive that day. I also called to get help at the main number as a hail mary and the lady I spoke with basically told me it was my fault as we were late getting there even though I explained the person I booked it with said it wouldn't be an issue. The lady didn't even apologize and mumbled a goodbye with no offer of help or reimbursement. So disappointed in the service of this place. read more

The folks working at the Chatham Parkway office are generally helpful and responsive, but the RATE INCREASES are ridiculous. I rented two units. One increased 61% and the other nearly 30% in the first 12-14 months (two rate increases on each unit). When I requested a rationale from customer service, WHY?, the answer was "you have a month to month lease." Yah, that is the only type of lease you offer. Asking again WHY the increases; when will the next one be; what will the % be so I can budget? NOTHING! They wouldn't provide any rationale about the amount or frequency of the increases or when the next one would be or what amount. HORRIBLE. read more

Who at public storage came up with the genius idea " Hey guys lets close this awesome self storage facility every day so we can force working people or stay at hone parents or students etc ti either abide by our idiotic time frame instead of being accessible 24-7 like all others or take our business elsewhere. This facility is deplorable. Glass in the ground bin travel areas. Very poor lighting. They never come and greet anyone and promos are always watching what you put in and take out if your unit. this is the second time i rented a storage unit from these people it started out being 55.00 a month then it went up t0 106.00 within 5 months thats a huge increase also its suppose to be climate controlled it is warmer inside than outside i would never rent from this place again.plus the one in pooler the roof leaked they could have cared less most of my stuff had mildew read more
