Well, once again they substantially raised the rent plus they have mice or rats in the units.

Hyacinth location in Salem has friendly and helpful staff. Visited on 7/20/22 and the manager on duty was especially helpful.

I rented a unit for a family member; a week later, I transferred the unit into the family member's…read morename. To do the transfer, we went into the Keizer storage office and signed paperwork as needed. I stayed until I was told the transfer was complete. Moving forward six months, I go into the storage center to rent a unit. I'm then informed I'm responsible for a $1200 storage bill. Shocked and confused, I explained the unit had been transferred out of my name, and I had no access to the unit since the transfer nor any communication. The manager then said the office employee failed to sign all the documents as required; therefore, the unit, along with a $1200 bill, defaulted to me. I was not a contact on the unit or given permission to access it after signing it over; therefore, I had zero contact with the storage center. I received no notices, letters, emails, or calls. During the six months, the storage center accessed the unit several times without approval, notice, or permission. On multiple occasions, The storage center permitted employees and others unknown to me to access the unit, removing property as desired. The Keizer Storage Center takes Zero responsibility for the actions of its employees, managers, or what happens on their grounds. You pay to protect your property behind a locked gate only to have the employees access and grant others access to property not belonging to the storage center. I will never do business with them and will warn anyone considering it. Keizer Storage Center has what I believe is an auto-response of "We would love the opportunity to resolve any issues." What would be genuine is to take responsibility and apologize for your wrongdoing, train your employees to complete unit transfers correctly, follow the law and stay out of units without proper notice, not give access to a unit without consent, and refund the money paid.

I went during business hours to ask about my bill and no one was in the office and thought perhaps with Covid I needed to ring a bell so was looking around and a lady in the parking lot started to yell at me. It was shocking as she was quite condescending and angry , I am not sure why. She really treated me like a child who had misbehaved badly. I was in shock by her cruelty and have some PTSD. Then when home I realized when I did the math I had paid through the end of May but she said I owed money May 1. I am unsure if it was an honest mistake on her part or fraud. I have been quite down about the whole thing. Usually in my experiences businesses are ethical so I have been quite taken off guard.

However, I was only renting a storage unit and figured that is the worst thing I had to do was deal with a bad attitude an ugly personality while taking a payment from me, I would live. However in June when I got sick, and missed one month, I put my $30 payment on autopay because I didn't want that to happen again. Little did I know that would cost me everything. There autopay system doesn't work properly. The paper that I filled out and signed that day can't be found. So when I attempted to get into my unit in September I was locked out. Contacting the Office they say it's because I haven't paid since June. Of course I'm wondering what they're talking about, I'm supposed to be on auto pay. The lady behind the counter, the daughter in law of the nasty attitude, calls over to the other storage facility and Keizer (Chemawa Rd mini storage) who took my autopay form. They can't find it. She apologizes for the mistake, admits that sometimes the autopay doesn't work properly, Credits me for all of these late fees, and out of kindness for the trouble, tells me I only need to pay for September. I pay her for September and October. I get into my unit & get what I initially needed. Go home believing that I have a storage unit to pay for coming November 1st. On November 4th(5 day grace) I call to make the payment completely unsuspecting that I have no unit to pay for and I have no things in it. They have come up with every excuse in the book. 'Brian from the Keizer facility (Chemawa rd mini storage) doesn't work for us'. But yet, he said he did, he was the one answering the phone calls for hyacinth st while Miss nasty attitude was in the hospital, and he was the one who took my payment, and my auto draft form. And 'my daughter in law was in training and didn't know how to do her job properly'. But yet she knew how to make excuses for a failed autopay system. She knew how to run the computer and take my payment, and she knew how to speak with her mother in law in the other room, and she knew how to run the computer to make all of the adjustments for the late fees ( all of this with Miss nasty in the next room in a wheelchair, whose name is Diane by the way). And yesterday on November 4th, she knew how to make excuses for how she was doing what the owner of the company had told her to do, and that was not accept the changes that she had made as the employee and reverse all of the late fees and therefore sent my unit to auction without notifying me. They have even dared me to take them to court. You can bet I will but there are things that court will not replace. Things like a blanket from my mother that was a keepsake for me. Things like pictures that I can't replace. Or all of my second income as a soap maker down the tubes because they sold off all my supplies for making soap stored in that unit. I do not recommend that you store anything here that you can't afford to lose, and for most everybody I know, that is anything. Look for the newspaper ad that will follow this as I feel everybody needs to know who you could potentially be doing business with.
