I recently rented a storage unit at the Port St. Lucie location, and unfortunately my experience left me feeling very unsafe and extremely disappointed. A few days after securing the unit, I moved my belongings in after dark. My unit is on the third floor, and I had multiple trips to unload my van. During that time, I repeatedly encountered a man wandering throughout the building. He was moving between floors and elevators, not carrying anything, and appeared to simply be roaming. Each time we crossed paths, he stared intensely and made me very uncomfortable. At one point, I saw him exiting the women's restroom, even though the men's restroom was clearly unoccupied. This added to my concern. For a period of time, he and I were the only people in the building, which felt extremely unsettling. I've rented storage units for over 20 years and have never experienced anything like this. Typically, people are there briefly to load or unload items -- not wandering around aimlessly after dark. Two days later, I went to the front office to report what happened. Derek and Tim identified themselves as property managers. When I described the individual, Derek immediately knew who I meant and told me he has 24/7 access and is a long-term "resident." I found that response confusing and concerning, given that this is a storage facility, not a residential property. What troubled me most was how my safety concern was handled. Derek was dismissive, argumentative, and spoke to me in a condescending tone. He did not apologize or acknowledge my discomfort. When I asked about transferring to a first-floor unit for safety reasons, he was again dismissive and unwilling to help or provide any alternatives. Customer safety concerns should be taken seriously, and professionalism from management should be the standard -- not the exception. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. Women especially should use caution when visiting this location after dark and consider bringing someone with them. Overall, this was a very disappointing and unacceptable experience. read more

Took off April 28th to move stuff into a new 5x10 storage unit. Showed up at 9:30 am when office opens. No one there. Over the phone was able to rent my unit. Web site offers features of the storage units, including $1 for the first month and 40% off the basic rate. NOT TRUE must choose one or the other. Finally got inside and the unit was ONLY 5x5. Was there until after 11am talking to international persons on the phone who were unable to help. Was told only the property manager could resolve the problem. They would not cancel the entire rental in spite of their major error. As of May 4 there is still a $102.52 bill on my credit card for a $50 per month 5x10 rental unit and the rental property manager still has not returned my call. read more

I would stay clear of this facility. They raise your rate constantly. The online price is just to get you in. It won't last long. My unit smells terrible! If you have a question or concern beware some of the front staff is very disrespectful! We are very unhappy with everything at this location. Will not be staying here long. Look elsewhere! read more

BOB WAS AMAZING!!! I was in the process of moving my stuff from a larger unit to a smaller unit on the same floor. I thought I could handle the task by myself when I soon realized it was a two person job. I had no one available to help me, just when I was about to give up, Bob stepped in and assisted me with a few of the larger pieces. Because of his help I was able to successfully transfer to a smaller unit by the end of the day. He cared enough to save me some extra money during the holidays. This was hands down the best customer service I've had in my whole life! Because of my experience with Bob today I will forever be a loyal customer to Public Storage for all of my storage needs! The reason I am giving this Public Storage 2 stars is that I am paying for an inside unit with "AC" due to certain items I have, but I can't tell you how long the AC has not worked, at least not on the 3rd floor. We have mentioned it numerous times and nothing. The staff is awesome and I feel bad for them because I know they hear about it ALL the time. Why pay for inside when it's just as hot? Looking for another storage center, unfortunately. read more

Clean space and easy access. BUT the same day we moved our furniture in my movers thought I would need more space then I paid for an additional smaller unit. On the same day we realized that we would not need this 2nd unit so I cancelled that same day. Guess what... they did not give me a refund. For same day reservation and cancellation. Fair? This place is run by different people constantly mostly they hire people with no knowledge of the storage unit business, they're always rude in the office they act like they are doing something great for you I treat you like you're just another nobody, I have spent over $70,000 in storage with them over the last 11 years. I clean and close my unit four days after they had billed me and they do not want to give me any credit back which I think is totally wrong as they were ran it out to someone else and still charge me. read more

Horrible experience I rented a unit which I needed in two weeks they wanted me to look at before that date that's when the fun started. The rent started the same day instead of two weeks. They made me buy their lock and insurance when the manager on the phone said I was not required to buy. They do not care about anything floor never swept my handcart wheels caught trash all the time the same unique debris. They have interior magnets on the doors that hold it open for you they all are broken I told them many times. They started a policy of keeping handcarts in the office but never posted any signs or notifications via email. The restroom was always horrible if unlocked they use COVID to keep locked all the time. I three counties they are the only restrooms I've seen locked for "COVID". MOST IMPORTANT they raise the rent EVERY 8 months. read more

If i could give no stars I WOULD. Late fees and bounce back fees when I had money in my account, rented my unit on the 25th and was supposed to be 1$ for the month - paid 45$ - then was charged AGAIN on the 1st for 96$ for my 75$ unit. Absolutely a rip off and customer service does not care. Go somewhere else!!! read more

Move in day went smooth as can be. The entry code was texted to me beforehand and the lock and instructions were in the unit upon arrival. The facility is clean and well kept. Very good air flow inside as well. read more

Service was great we came to unload a truck and the young lady at the front was so sweet I wish I had gotten her name but she was such a sweet person she helped to make sure I got my dolly and she was just very polite I would definitely tell people to go to this public storage is the cleanest one I've ever seen I've used public storages over the years in different areas and I've never seen one quite like this - if it helps I moved in on March 18 maybe that will help find the beautiful young lady who helped us! read more

They iight. They close early (9pm) which sucks but they open early too (6am), plus they send you warnings and shit if you leave the storage late. When it comes to the storage space its decent but thats if you can find the damn thing, the set up is almost like being in a funny house of mirrors, decent sizes but its not easy to get to it so good luck. If your tryna hide something from someone this storage is perfect because even someone steals your key to it would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack to find it. read more

The facility is clean. Employees are very competent. Security is satisfactory. It would be nice if the indoor temperature was a few degrees lower. They keep it 79-80 degrees. read more

An update on my earlier post. This business continues to raise our prices we started a 15 months ago at $125 a month. It is now up to $190 a month. They do it during the summer when they know a lot of snowbirds aren't around. A word to the wise. It is better to get an annual contract somewhere else. read more

as bad as it gets. I made a reservation March 11, 2021 for a april 5 move date. I went today (april 2) to confirm all good and finish any paperwork-to my surprise, they said i wasn't in their computer and couldn't give me the rate i was sent via email because of the "fine print" , my 10x15 unit for 161 a month jumper to 260 a month- sorry, nothing they could do was the answer. I booked with another storage down the block but talk about bait and switch...horrible customer service- use anyone else but them- don't be fooled by false advertisement read more

Went looking for a place to store my new travel trailer safely, as we live in a gated community without parking for boats or RVs. Found Public Storage on-line and called them. The reservation center (somewhere in California) quoted excellent monthly rates, and claimed their RV/boat parking area was very secure. When I got to the actual facility to check it out, Angela, the manager, confirmed the quoted rates (no bait and switch), and I found the area I would park my RV had nice high solid walls, was well lighted, and had plenty of video surveillance. Angela was very pleasant, personally walked me out to view our potential assigned slot, and walked me through the process. I returned within two weeks to rent the unit and move my RV in. Have been back several times, including taking my RV out for a short camping trip. No issues or problems. read more

It is a great place to store your items, secure with video monitored, key pad access, plenty off parking, and hand dollies to carries your items from the car or truck to your designated space, price wise, "YES" it is true that they start at $1 for the first month with starting rates about 20% lower than others in town, one thing to keep in mind, this storage facility is a month to month rental, without contract so they can raise the storage unit price whenever they want. I got my unit in November of 2015 and on May of 2016 the raised it $20 bucks which made it almost as expensive as other places in town. read more

I went there three times during the month of May to rent a unit. Each time the price was different and the terms were different. I feel they are not honest. I hope someone with authority catches up with them and holds them to their word. The building is new and clean, but the people they have hired leave a lot to desired. read more

I've had a storage unit for over a year in this particular location before they were Public storage because my employer also had their vehicles located in the facility and I was in charge of said vehicles. I've referred numerous of friends and other clients to the location. I was never late and never had any issues with the other company CubeSmart and then the interim company that was in charge of it. However, ever since the orange doors have been put up the downward spiral. I've noticed a constant barrage of auctions taking place every week at the location in St. Lucie West. I've been threaten to have my unit auctioned off and have been hit with lien fees even when I call in. Every month it seems like the rates are changing and they hit you with an extra month on top of the bill of there is a balance due on your account. It almost seems like they are looking forward to profiting off of our unused items that we value enough to try to hold on to. I can also tell you that ever since they have taken over my employer has since relocated their vehicles elsewhere. That should've been my cue as well. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. Don't get me wrong the place is well taken care of aesthetically but as far as business practices it needs a complete overhaul. The staff seems friendly but at the end of the day they have a job to do and there is not a lot of personality required for a self contained business such as this one. Do yourself a favor as I should have and done for myself, sell all items you can stand not looking at because I and probably just as many more people will tell you this particular company will make it almost impossible for you to pay to keep them. They really should change their name to "Public Auction House". If I could've scored this with something less than one star I would've. This public storage is in a great location easily accessible from 2 directions from east or west. Close to the busiest part of Port Saint Lucie and I-95. They have inside AC storage and the prices are fair. Angela is always helpful with processing our payment or making changes as needed. read more
