Where is the 0 stars option because they are a financial black hole banking on the fact that they can raise your rate and it will be too inconvenient for you to move all your stuff. Started renting here a year and a half ago and here is what they have done: 18 months ago - $165 / mo 6 months later - $215 / mo 6 months later - 269/ mo Now - These mf just sent me an email saying it's now $323 / mo while thanking me for being a valued customer. Like telling me you appreciate me while punching me in the dick. From $165 - $323 / mo in a year and a half. I also rent a second unit that was $99 / mo and they raised it to $130 in 4 months. I first want to say the people working in the front office were always very nice and helpful to me. I was one of the original renters in this location. I rented at the Petaluma Blvd S location for about 4 years. I was finally forced out by their greed. My unit was on the bigger side, upstairs in a corner. The door was narrow and some items I wanted to store wouldn't fit through the door. Apparently there are only two units with this narrow door. My rent started out at $196. When I moved out it had been raised to $500. That was no longer sustainable, so I forced to move out. I had been on autopay, kept my unit clean, and followed the rules. Their constant rent increases - which were usually about 40% - were ridiculous and frequent. The greed of the owners of this facility is shameful. Renters beware!! read more

No one should be paying $336/month for a fucking box. Give me a break. What am I paying for? No one is ever here working and the one operable bathroom is never even available. If there happens to be an employee on-site you have to beg on your knees them to open it for you before you piss yourself. This is a nice facility however, I got a space here in Nov 2022 and it was $100/month. It's now $177/month in Feb 2024. After 15 months?! INSANE!!! I had a storage space at a competitor company down in Belmont for about 11 years and they raised the rates maybe 3 times the entire time. That seems like a smarter business model. My rates have had two significant price increases over the last year. I am now paying over 50% more than I was in 2024. $150/month for a 5'X5' unit on the 3rd floor! Their lock systems are very inconvenient. You have to input your 7 digit code every time you go through the door into the building, even though you went through a locked gate to get in and there's supposedly someone on staff during the day. The last time I was there the entry door had been urinated on and obviously hadn't been addressed for awhile, judging on the awful smell. This place is a money grab - beware. read more

Do NOT rent here I'm VERY disappointed this stupid place advertised a $1 first month fee. I signed up on the 25th of July where it wasn't just $1 I had to pay $54 total to get the $1 special. Then just yesterday I saw a $73 dollar auto pay charge on my account and when I called Public Storage about it they said oh that's your rent fee for August. So since I've rented my storage space barely two weeks ago they've charged me over $125. IT'S NOT A $1 move in fee just know they're going to scam you out of at least $100 more than that. read more

I went to the Petaluma Blvd South location to find a unit A.S.A.P. The woman helping me figure it out is named Marley, & boy she dialed me in so quickly and easily I was unloading my items into a first floor unit with in 10 minutes of being greeted by her. I've stored 3 places in the last three years and this place is the most expensive, but in terms of the facility, you get what you pay for. To anyone complaining - for slightly cheaper storage go take a look at what's out there (rodents, mildew, sketchy locations, no bathroom, etc.) The units are as nice as they come, the rental process is EASY, and the security is as good as it gets. Looking for better customer service? It's not a fucking restaurant. For the record, my service was great. The manager was curt but helpful, and a friendly staff member walked me door to door from my check-in to my unit. A rent increase would send me packing on principle, but I'm very happy with what my money is paying for here. read more

I needed a storage space in a pinch today. I could have waited a few days, but it was super helpful getting one right away. This Public Storage location made it super fast and easy to get it done. The people I spoke with, Mark and Samantha, were SO nice! They were both very polite, professional and patient with me. I can be overly talkative but they handled it with helpful attitudes. Mark especially was great, recommending an appropriately sized unit so that I don't over spend. Thank you Mark! When I arrived I was so pleased with the facility. The building is SO CLEAN! It was incredibly easy to navigate because they have a huge map on the wall. There is a large TV that displays security footage, and I found that reassuring as well. The elevator is huge! And the carts they have available are in great condition. When I made it to my unit it was secured with a zip tie. I simply cut this off and when I opened it, I had paperwork welcoming me warmly to Public Storage. The important information was highlighted which made it easy to read and understand. They even provided a lock and keys! Everything about this place is EASY. Fast & easy. If you're looking for no-contact, due to Covid or anything, this spot is the best choice! The whole process was entirely no-contact, which I appreciate simply due to my personality. Thanks everyone at this Public Storage! Highly recommend (obviously lol). read more

This place is awesome in and of itself. If George Jetson needed storage for all those blue pants, he'd go here. But really this review is for the lovely lady who helped me out! She was totally accommodating and explained all the bells and whistles thoroughly so I understood (I'm a bit on the hyper-frazzled side and I'm a millennial that doesn't get tech stuff, sooo..). It was super easy; I literally went online, reserved the perfect space, and she did the rest with style and grace. It felt awesome walking away with keys to this ultra clean, mega modern facility that's in a beautiful location. But someone give that gal a promotion, because she made storage-talk fun and easy! Beyond rude and disrespectful and I was late a couple times (struggling single mom), she left me intimidating and borderline threatening messages. I knew I was late and going to have pay a late fee; I received the text, the email... I do not need a threatening message. I got a storage unit about 4 months ago for about $175, 4 months later, I received an email stating that the rent will be increased to $240, an increase of over 30%! Absolutely crazy. I would not recommend using this facility. I saw another review that stated their rent storage rent went up by 77% over the course of a year, so this is not a one-off scenario. read more

I've rented storage at several facilities over the years and I have to say this place has been the worst experience of the lot. On one occasion the bathroom was out of order; on another the gate you leave by wasn't working; and on a third occasion the elevators were out of commission. But my real beef is with their rental fee increases. It's the modus operandi for all storage places to increase your rent at regular intervals but this place has raised mine twice in little more than 18 months so that I'm now paying nearly 50% more than my starting rent. Increases have been $50 or more each time. I'm now paying almost what I had been paying at my previous storage unit but that at least spread the increases out gradually. I'm also not crazy about the way you get in and out of the facility. There's a lock on the gate that uses Bluetooth to activate. Fine. But then there's an additional locked door into the building that works the same way. If you're making multiple trips from inside the building to your car you must either block the door to hold it open or unlock it each time you enter the building. Lastly, good luck finding someone in the office or answering the phone. I had no such luck the day their exit gate failed and had to wing it getting out of the lot. read more

Maybe my mind will change, who knows, especially after I read all the one star reviews but I'm here to be honest on my experience today. First - the ease of getting a unit online was "too good to be true". Reserved a unit, drove in with a filled 26' truck 2 hours later, opened the unit and right there was my lock/key and insurance info. These units are the cleanest I've seen, and yes maybe because they are new - but they are immaculate. Mind you - I got 2 units (one for a client, and one for me). Manager was on site, and was pleasant as we entered. There is a cleaner on site as well, she was pleasant as well and showed us how to keep the automatic doors from shutting. Pricing was as expected - I have 3 other units located at another storage unit that is not as organized nor as clean for only slightly cheaper. So overall - great move-in experience. I won't be here for long so I'll update on any move-out issues. But, I do know Public Storage likes those move out notices so I'll be playing by their rules. If you have questions, call them! My daughter just moved out of a Public Storage, I warned her on giving notice cause she thought she could just move out and be done - she called and the lady told her specifically what she needed to do to avoid another months charge. The building is sparkling clean and feels brand new. Pretty easy access to all of the units, even if they're upstairs and in the middle of one of the buildings. Great monthly rate and the on site manager, Wendy, was SO helpful, patient and kind. She walked me down to the unit twice and showed me the entire property and the access points. And then helped me download and get the PS app up and running! Really an amazing and outgoing individual! A rarity amongst todays employees! read more

So a friend of mine got a storage unit here and after moving his stuff out got charged a full months rent. Not sure what the deal is with this place but be weary of them trying to overcharge you. The staff seemed aloof when he was closing his account and didn't even go look in the unit to make sure it was all cleared out or clean. The facility is new but already is starting to smell! I've never had a storage unit so I don't know what to compare it to but if I ever do I am sure to go with someone else. It has been less than a year since I rented my unit and they raised my rent 10% in the middle of this pandemic. As if things werent hard enough to pay on time on top of that they raised the rent. This is totally inmoral and inhumane! Unfortunately, I too have had a bad experience with management at this location. I was using one of their carts to move my items into my locker. As I was exiting the elevator, my ipad fell off the cart and straight down the elevator shaft. I contacted the desk and they told me these were new carts and they were purchased to avoid incidents like this. It's been over a month and they have still not returned my ipad (which we were using for homeschooling). They want me to pay $400 to retrieve it. After multiple attempts at getting the name of their insurance company to file a claim, Daniel, the regional manager hasn't called me back. There are plenty of storage facilities. I recommend picking one with better customer care. read more

Be very cautious when paying your monthly storage fee. Since I pay my bills electronically, my financial institution indicated my payment would be received by the due date. Given I felt secure with this assumption, apparently the payment is not posted until it's in their physical hands which results in a day or two delay and a $42 "late" fee because they do not recognize postmarks. Yes, a $42 fee! I then spoke with the DM, Heather, since I was getting nowhere with the office person and she was no help. She then proceeded to say because I was not a long term customer, she wouldn't rescind the fee. Statements such as this lead me to believe they discriminate against people based on their longevity as a customer. Suspicious? I'd say so. I requested her boss' name (Dan) and contact info to escalate the matter. She then proceeded to hand up on me. Btw, I'm still waiting. On top of it, I received an incorrect Pre-Lien form notifying me of payment due which included what was already paid instead of the $42 disputed fee. Terrible customer service and not willing to work with their customers so be warned. Leadership needs to work on improving the listening skills of their team and teach them professionalism and flexibility. read more
