Not a big fan of Public storage. I have 2 units, 1 with PS and one with a competitor. In the same time period, about 2 years, PS raised price 3 times for about a 40% increase, the other raised once for 5%! I am in the process of relocating the PS unit! read more

On-site employee failed to do their bare-minimum job and close out the account when I vacated, resulting in me being charged for the next month a week after vacating. Zero responsibility or ownership taken over the situation locally or on the corporate level, just a bunch of excuses. Unacceptable on all levels. read more

If you post Saturday hours as being open until 5 pm, then I'm not sure why the office door is locked at 3 pm. It's challenging to get someone on the phone, but if they answer, they tell you the property is on site, put you on hold, then put you into voice mail. So not helpful. read more

We rented a new storage unit today at your Alafaya Woods location and were very happy to have met Terry. She was very personable and helpful. Terry handled all aspects of our transaction professionally. We enjoyed interacting with her very much. We also noticed the facelift the office and buildings have received. The place looks very fresh and clean now. We were pleasantly surprised to see this. We recently rented a unit there earlier this year, and the office was showing its age then. We moved all of our content into a large unit in Building 5017. We were shown a unit with a light. After moving in we asked for them to put the light on and we are told that building never got repaired from the last hurrican. To quote Iona, "just caus you see a light doen't mean we have to give you a light" To top that off, we received a rental agreement and paid all their management fees up front. Our contract and the worker said our payments would be due the 1st of the month. Starting March 1 after the free month. We had moved in a few days prior to the first so we were told we would have a small prorated fee added to our first payment. We called to pay our first payment and the bill was not $133 as on our contract but locked out and owed $233.19. The rental employee failed to enter the paper work as we were told and they had a separate due date not on any contract for the prorata of $9.45 plus a $26.60 late fee and that tacked on a $55.60 lien fee on the $9.45 prorated fees. Seems like a simple thing to fix there was an erro in their normal standards and procedures. NO Worst chain of command. No one is empowered. They figure you don't want to move all your contents so your stuck the next VICTIM awaits. IF YOU GO IN READ CONTRACT And ITEM 6 Please email to opt out of the Class Action Cause. It's ok. The only issue I have is the ridiculous cost of the insurance they forced me to purchase for the size locker I have. My entire apartment has an insurance rate cheaper than that for renters insurance. The instructions to get to my storage locker were not complete. A big oh by the way on the code was left out. Good thing someone was there to help me. read more

At Public Storage on Alafaya Trail we rented 12' X 35' Vehicle storage space, our vehicle is 31' long. When we parked in the very tight spot we stuck out at least 5', the space they assigned to us could not accommodate our 31' vehicle. We were told that was the only space available, but obviously we couldn't stay as our vehicle obstructed the travel lane. We spoke with the on-site representative and he said he understands, he'd request a refund for our deposit. A short while after we left we received a phone call stating No Refund and I owe one month rent! Ridiculous, I asked to speak directly with the manager, two days have passed and I'm still waiting. In the meantime we had to scramble and find storage for our 31' vehicle. Very disappointed read more

Amber at the Alafaya Trail in Oviedo, Fl has handled my requests, questions and concerns twice at this location. She is friendly, proficient, knowledgeable and answered each and every concern I had with the storage units there. She took the time to explain in detail the process, prices, and benefits of storing my property at her location. The storage facility is neat, clean and She treats each and every customer with utmost professionalism. This will be the ONLY company I store my property with because of her. I have a large climate controlled indoor unit. It is what you make of it. So you're you're a slob then your unit will be unorganized. Every staff member I've encountered has been kind. Venel was phenomenal! The bulbs in my unit were out for a year because I procrastinated and never knew they would change them free of charge! He was quick to assist me, even helped me move things around to get access to the lights. read more

Not at the store but By Corporate I am paying more that the "special internet " price for my camper storage when I asked about this I get told oh well if you want that price then you have to cancel your spot and reserve that one .... are you kidding me... Since day one their corporate attitude just stinks its not the 12 bucks a month its the principal Im on auto pay so its not about not being able to afford the spot might be time to look at another place read more

I have never had such horrible customer service! I went in to pay my bill on 4 units, and upon entering was greeted by Marion. In a panicked/worried voice telling me I would have to wait because there was a new customer filling out a new lease forum on (hard paper). I had no problem waiting because he had been In front of me. About a minute goes by and Marion decides to see what I needed. I told her I would like to pay my bill but had forgotten my unit numbers, after guessing a few numbers and finding my name in the computer she got upset that my accounts were not "linked together" and asked me why they were not. I did not have an answer for her as I was not the one to type them into her computer. she decided to start my payment process (while the new customer was still filling out his hard paper lease) and needed no assistance for her, which is what I have always experienced in the past. During this process another customer comes in and in her panicked/worried voice tells says "how can I help you sir" customer states that he would like to pay his bill. She tells him "oh i'm sorry sir, I am alone and am already helping these two gentlemen, it will be 20 minutes". He had then stated that he would return later in the day. The first customer is still filling out his hard paper forums and has not said a word the whole time, Marion then decides to take my second payment. After this payment is complete she tells me "sorry you need to come back later, I am busy with this (first customer)" who is still filling out his information and still not said a word. I was OUTRAGED that she could not multitask and finish my payment process while the other guy did not need assistance. Marion called me and left a voice mail about an hour later telling me it was ok to come back to finish m payment. I will not go back into the office when she is there. I returned a few days later on my day off to finish what should have taken 10 minutes the first time. I believe the guys name was Venel and was a night and day difference. He started my payment right away and took a total of 5 minutes to finish the 2 payments and told me he would contact his manager to request my units be linked to make things easier next time. read more
