    I have had a large unit with this Public Storage location since 2016. I started paying about $70.00…read morein July, 2016; but every year, their rate has gone up by a lot more than the inflation. In Feb 2024, they sent me a letter with the new rate for the year: $411.00. That's a 600% increase in eight years! Outrageous! So, I decided to check online and I found out that this same Public Storage location was offering units the same size as mine, for JUST $84.00 per month. That's almost as much as I started paying, eight years ago! Granted, the price had a 50% off, for online booking. But even without applying the 50% discount, the rate would have been $168.00, which would represent almost 300% less than the $411.00 that they were charging me, after being a customer for eight years! Moreover, I went to the office and asked to see the units they had available that were the same size as mine, and with the same conditions (indoor, AC). They had one unit just two doors down the aisle where mine was located!!! Without even thinking about it, I took it, and then we proceeded to move all our stuff from the old unit, to the new one. It took us two days to move everything, but as soon as we were done, I cancelled the old unit contract. Now we are saving $325.00 every month! One caveat, the 50% only applies to new customers; so my spouse signed the contract for the new unit, and we were good to go. I'm a reasonable person, and I understand that property taxes increase every year; but GOING FROM $70.00 to 411.00 IN SIX YEARS, IT'S SIMPLY A ROBBERY! Specially when they were offering the same unit at $84.00 to new customers, or $172.00 to existing customers! My guess is that they know people don't want to go through the hazard of moving their belongings, so they feel that, once people move in, they are "CAPTIVE CUSTOMERS", and they take advantage of that vulnerable situation, taking as much money as they can from them, while they have their stuff stacked in their property. There's no other explanation for offering the same unit to a new costumer, at a 600% lower price. And let me tell you, I DOUBT THAT THEY LOOSE MONEY AT THE $84.00 RATE!!!! So, why charging 600% more for the same space size, under the same conditions? BECAUSE THEY CAN. Because THEY KNOW PEOPLE IS NOT GOING TO MOVE OUT, ONCE THEY STORE THEIR BELONGINGS WITH THEM. So this fact informs their BUSINESS PRACTICE: "MILK THE COW" AS MUCH AS THEY CAN. Now, with all this being said, you'd be probably wondering why I rated them 2 stars, and not just 1. Here's the reason: The place is clean, conveniently located, and secure. So, if you need it for less than a year (they adjust their rates yearly), it should work fine for you. Just don't plan to stay much longer, because you're going to see a huge increase in your monthly payment, after the first year. And that only goes higher, and higher and higher, the longer you stay.

    Customer service like chivalry is not dead…read more Moving is a hectic time. Public Storage has made the process less stressful. My husband and I decided we needed a place that held 2 "must-haves:" safety and service. We called every company within 5 miles of 85379, and the phone etiquette of Public Storage set the bar. The agent educated us of their online capabilities. The website would not only confirm the information they had provided, but there was a possibility of saving us money by booking online. Are you serious!? A business looking out for OUR bottom-line, and not gouging us for the nickels and dimes we work so hard? This was the first indication we had found a great company. Upon arrival, we walked into the end of what we only assume was a very intense situation. The assumed customer was apologizing for their actions and wishing the gentleman behind the counter a better day ahead. The two shared a fond farewell and it was on to the next customer (us). My husband believes ice is best broken with a humor-hammer, as such, he offered the gentleman behind the counter a moment to "de-escalate," and with a smile they replied in kind with humor; needing no time at all to assist us. Truly genuine service, begins and ends with the employment of great people. Jeff, the gentleman behind the counter, was as genuine as they come. He asked questions to confirm the reservation we booked online. He offered solutions to our concerns. Jeff even went above and beyond to ensure our access to the property was unhindered. He even educated us to opportunities we had not begun to concern ourselves with. This level of service not only met our service "must-have," it exceeded it. Combine this personal customer service with the options to self-service online and Public Storage has exceeded this millennial-couple's expectations. Public Storage is the bar by which we will judge all future experiences to. During our walk thru of the facility with Jeff, our safety "must-have" concerns were all addressed. The facility has limited hours of access to reduce off-hour activities. This means a Public Storage employee is always on-site during operating hours when customers are present. Public Storage has individual access codes to monitor which customers are entering the facility, and offers insurance for "acts of God" and burglary issues that are beyond either parties' control. Also, there are nearly 20-cameras monitoring and recording the activities of the premises at all-times. To say our safety "must-haves" were met is an understatement. It is nice to know that they even do lock checks. If Public Storage finds a unit with accessibility that should not, they reach out to the customer to advise of the security concern. This shows the commitment to safety and service. We feel confident Public Storage will keep our possessions safe and secure. If safety and service are pillars by which you decide whether, or not, to do business with a company, understand Public Storage Surprise is setting the bar among its competition. We recommend this company to all who ask, and to those seeking comfort through online reviews. . . We are not employed by, nor, have we been paid to write this review.
