My company has had a storage unit with Public Storage for only 12 months and in that time they have done 2 rent increases which have doubled our rent. Each rent increase was $85. When I call to get an explanation it is very difficult to get ahold of a live person to speak with and they just say "we reserve the right to increase rent at any time". So we are cancelling out storage unit and moving somewhere else. I would not recommend getting a storage unit with Public Storage! read more

This company doesn't want you to have a unit long term, I was even told that. They up your rate like every 4 months, this last month they increased it by $40. The storage manager called and had my 4 wheeler impounded when he knew it belonged to us and he knew we were trying to be out of our unit by the end of the month, we just couldn't make it in 1 load so we had to park it in the front parking. Now we have to pay a bunch of money to get our 4 wheeler back. He could have simply called us! That's not good business practice but it's even worse to do to someone who you know! read more

I normally don't write reviews, and idk if I've written a one star before, but these guys are a joke. They advertise a $1 rent for the first month, but it actually turns into $50 due to some other move-in fees. The price wasn't bad at first, but in a little over a year it (10' x 10' unit) went from $97 to $135 to now $171, all not including insurance. This doesn't merit a one star review, but what does is they charged me for a whole month's rent after moving the rest of my stuff out for 20 mins on the 1st of the month. Customer service sent an "issue" in for me but it got rejected. Few other issues but yeah I wouldn't recommend them. read more

Okay. I previously gave this a 5 star rating, but I'm changing it. I'm definitely cancelling my account with these people as soon as I can. In my previous review, I praised them for how cheap and upfront they are. They're definitely cheap, I'll still give them that, but they're definitely not honest. I have some important things in my storage unit that I needed at 6am, I'm in the military so it was a last minute thing but that's just how the army works. Online it says that the gates are open at 6am so I didn't think it was an issue, but the whole building was locked. I called them and without an ounce of sympathy or feeling, the woman on the phone told me I'd have to wait until 9:30am when the building opens to get my own belongings. That's very misleading, don't say that you're going to be open at 6am if that's not true. I've had issues in the past as well and they were not greeted with employees who want to help their customers. I updated my payment information one day and they called me to say that my payment didn't go through. I told them to check again and after being out on hold for a while they came back and said I was fine. Another time the payment actually didn't go through, but this time they waited to call me until after the payment was late. The conversation went like this, "we saw that you missed your payment so now you have a late fee, when are you going to pay your bill?" I can't effectively communicate the tone that was used, but I was offended at how blunt and rude they were. My bill is usually $25/month but they late fee made it $50. I don't understand why they had to double the price but okay. I told them I'm a full time college student and I can't really afford that so I asked if they could waive it; she told me she'd request it for me but I probably wouldn't get it waived. Thanks for looking out for me, I really feel valued. Mostly I'm upset that their website says "gates open at 6am" but really they don't open until 9:30am. I'm getting in trouble with my military unit now because of this situation. Even if you don't open until 9:30am, that needs to be communicated better. Take better care of your people. I'm going back to my previous storage facility because they have longer gate hours, they never had any issues with my payment, and every interaction I had with them was helpful and pleasant (none of which I experienced here). read more

Very happy with them. The place is very clean and organized. The unit inside was amazing. They provide elevators, handcarts and they're technology based. I can enter the facility using an app on my phone. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was they advertised that the 1st month would be $1. That $1 turned into $51 real fast. I was required to pay an administrative fee ($15) buy the lock which should come with the shed ($20) they require you to buy insurance ($15 per month). with that being said, I'm pretty happy with the service. I'm sure that my belongings are in good hands. read more

Honestly the place is nice and clean, but the management is terrible. My move in date for my new apartment was May 1st so we moved out of the storage unit on May 1st. Come to find out if you move out on May 1st you have to pay THE WHOLE MONTH OF RENT. When I tried to see if there was anything that could be done the lady did absolutely nothing to help and said the person that sold the unit to me should have told me. Anyways, I didn't know that so I had to pay $70 for half a day that I actually had my stuff in there for the month of May. I'll definitely not be using them ever again. Hopefully this review helps someone, so they know before they make the same mistake as me. read more

These folks just bought the UHaul storage facility and my contract for storing my personal belongings. I am NOT impressed. They are not honoring my prior contract, but have voided my UHaul 10% military veteran's discount, ignored the renters insurance policy I supplied, and want me to sign their own contract. The manager almost never answers the phone when I call her (two out of six tries), doesn't call me back when I ask her to, but calls me while I am at work. I am out of state with no local facilities near me, and no way to talk to the corporate offices. This STINKS. Moving out as quickly as possible. read more

I have been renting a storage unit from public storage located orem utah. For several months and have been treated as one would like to be. Only to have my fears come to reality. I recently have been in a situation that caused a brain injury this has caused my speech and my sense of time even my reality at times. I notified public storage of this when I rented the unit there's times where I have been late or forgotten my payment but always been as quick as I could to pay it not because I didn't want to but because I had forgotten because of my injury and they have treated me fairly decent I have not been to the facility 2 months recently not sure like I say I lose track of my time but I know it's been at least a few . I stayed past 9:00 p.m. I have not been there such a long time it was like Christmas this is a young child would feel when I opened the door and seen my things... I've missed them so much and I was just playing my property reorganizing it cleaning it up and having fun.. it's been such a long time since I've felt good with this injury but I forgot about time inside the public storage facility it just felt right and overstayed I guess an hour maybe 45 minutes past their closing of 9:00 p.m. I did not realize this . I've told public stories this may happen as if it cuz I have no sense of time and I lose track never to been a problem until recently I guess they call and left me a voicemail I would like people to know if you do this be prepared maybe not maybe they're just prejudice or discriminating on me this is the way I feel I actually feel terrified to go see or to go there now from the message they left me threatening me telling me that this will never happen again that I cannot do this ever that this was wrong and that I'm in the wrong and they are going to take steps and measures to take my facility or unit to a different time to where I have to be here during business hours now I don't know what this means or what are these hours are like I said this injury has affected my memory and my ability to understand certain things but I feel very threatened and I feel terrified and I don't like this feeling I don't know why they want to be mean to me and I don't know why they have this feelings at me if I did something wrong why didn't they talk to me about it civilly not threaten me make me be there at certain times when maybe I don't know these times or maybe I'll lose them again what will happen next will they hurt me physically this is the way I feel the message the tone of this lady's voice was very angry and I don't know what I did wrong I apologize that I have this injury and it affected me but why were they so kind in the past then I don't come here for such a long time are they mad at me for not coming in and saying hi not buying them cookies or a soda pop like on the regular do they miss their soda fucking cookies I'm sorry they just have to tell me and I'll buy them more I'm on a limited budget with this disability but I do have some pennies saved and $5 in my aunt give me they can have it if this would make them not mad at me I apologize again I would just like everyone to know please don't be late at public storage in orem utah . I would say that the lady working was great and sweet, but something happened that SERIOUSLY needs to be addressed, I was putting all my things away, which was a lot to do by myself, I didn't realize what time it was when I finally got everything put in there, I look to see and it was about 10 mins after closing hours.. so I rushed to my car and tried getting out.. it would NOT allow me to. I was FREAKING OUT! I am a mother with kids at home! There was a small sign where the keypad entry was that was put up apparently 10 mins ago on the exit side that said "if you're reading this then that means you're here after hours, call this number"... I call it, it's just an automatic menu with zero help to get out and no one to answer until the next morning... At this point I'm about to call the cops... I sat there for AN HOUR trying to figure anything out, there was zero other way to get out what so ever, I was trapped. I don't know if it was a glitch or a miracle but after an hour I somehow got the ENTRANCE gate to open with my app on my phone... THANK GOD. I really think there should be at least a grace period after like 15-30 mins after closing just on the exit side in case of situations like this... That was terrifying. read more
