We had a great experience renting our storage unit at Public storage. We were shown the different units and ultimately decided upon the right one. Melissa provided excellent customer service and helped go through everything in a professional, timely manner. I'm a happy customer! read more

The property manager is never available this place sucks no one ever returns calls the service is dead wrong

I would give this facility 0 stars if possible. The entire location is infested with rats. The property manager never answers the phone nor returns phone calls. She is extremely unprofessional and rude. After finding a dead rat along with rat poop in my unit, the property manager said "thats not my job" when asked about the amount of garbage found around the property. There are bait boxes around the property that are not sufficient for the serious rodent infestation. Spoke with other renters who have complained about the same rodent infestation. This property is unkept, unsanitary and unsafe. I highly recommend not renting a storage unit at this facility. It's not worth the monthly pay nor does your renters insurance cover sufficient damage done by these rodents. Customer service is also a disaster. Definitely will be reporting this facility to the Health Department. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE. Certainly your worst option for storage. Lots of newer, much more secure places to rent in Milwaukee than this place. Old, run down, not very secure. Seems like lately there is NEVER an employee on site, which is a big problem. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE! Had a storage unit for at most 5months. Recently went to retrieve some items and discovered evidence of rodents! Went to speak to the manager who told me "that happens" and they would lay rat poison outside of the units. He told me that's why he rents a climate controlled one personally. Told me that since I didn't have any prohibited items it most likely was a neighboring unit's fault. Told me to call insurance and that's that. Orange door insurance is a joke, only pays $250 for vermin damage after a $100 deductible. You can't contact anyone at public storage corporate or anything. Now I'm stuck footing the bill for removing all my damaged property(everything) and dumping it at the dump. Find someplace else with a company who gives a crap. read more

A month ago I had put a brand new pressure washer in my unit, I had went today to put some more supplies in my unit, to find out my pressure washer was NOT in there, The manager, Charles T came out and said he had secured it in his unit because my unit wasn't properly locked and didn't want my brand new pressure washer being stolen along with my other items. Thank you so much! Definitely a classy move. read more

I made a reservation for an anticipated move. I tried to cancel my reservation online, however, since I made a payment for it already, I was told that I needed to speak with the property manager. I left a message. No return call. I left another message...let's see if I get a call back. Very poor customer service from the location I chose. They are open until 6pm. There is no reason that they didn't have the chance to return my call. read more

Property Manager Angela is horrible!! No customer service!! I was trying to get my issue resolved with my FORMER unit. She applied a late fee AFTER I moved out, I was trying to find a solution and she was no help at ALL!!! So that shows that she never looks at the units after they vacate. You have to call and let them know even if it's done online or by app. I've been moved out for a week and just today late fees have been applied, and when I called and she DID answer (the first time) she verified the day I moved out and the time, so why is this happening, why is there a late fee? After that she kept sending me to voicemail, multiple times, then would answer after I called a few times, once again because I KNOW she's there since she answered the first time). She kept sending me to voicemail, she's clearly in office because it's business hours. Voicemails have been left with no callbacks. She keeps hanging up on me when all I want is a dang solution to avoid more fees!! I have recordings of her hanging up when I would ask for a district manager or someone above her, even a number. And when she finally gave me a number it was the general automated service line to make payments. Absolutely ridiculous and childish on ANGELAS end. She needs to be replaced with someone who CARES. All she cares about is that check. She may have good customer service when helping individuals find a unit, but HORRIBLE customer service when people need help with stuff like this. Thank god Cass from public storage on hwy 100 came to the rescue and helped me out. read more

If zero was an option that's what they'd get from me. This place is pathetic, they charge you for their mistakes. Also constant rate increases, I'll be going elsewhere. They also have lied to me saying my payment was returned for NSF, so I showed them proof the funds were available since payment was made, then they tried saying my bank doesn't participate in ACH withdrawal. Then why have I paid my sons account with a check and 3 other creditors I deal with have no problem with getting their money. And forget about having the manager get back to you, they make the office people deal with it. I should not have been charged anything but yet when all was said and done I still ended up paying an extra $25.00 read more

Amy did a fantastic job getting me in and out of my unit. The unit itself was clean and dry and remained so for 3 years. My items were in great condition after my storage. I would recommend if you need an affordable storage spot in Milwaukee. read more

Have moved into a smaller unit one year ago today in Building B on 9th & Layton in Wisconsin, and it's been a whole year of "Excuses" as to why They have not replaced a missing outer door on the building. Yet they just increased the rent for "maintenance" reasons. WHAT A JOKE! What maintenance? You cannot even replace a door? So much for climate control! It will be getting cold out again and you're allowing animals to seek refuge with everyone's belongings! What are we paying you for? read more

I lost my job and fell behind a month on my unit. I asked to go on a payment plan and they denied it. I told them I would pay $200 of my past due rent that week and the remainder the next and they still denied it. They auctioned off my unit and then sent me a bill for $790, which I refuse to pay because I was told that when a unit is auctioned off that that is used to pay off any balance. The fact that I was only $320 behind to then somehow get a bill for $790 is absurd. I have a storage unit with another company and have so for over 5 years. They worked with me when I lost my job and I still have the unit and have been paid in full for a while now. Public Storage is awful and will rip off their customers if they can. Do not do business with them because should you ever struggle financially, you can kiss your stuff goodbye. The irony is that they sent the $790 bill to collections and yet the TV that was in the unit was worth more than the $320 I owed. Funny how they continue to rip you off even after they auction off your unit. Beware people! read more

The customer service is THE WORST!! Not only at this location but even corporate is horrible. I have been hung up on numerous times and spoken to like I was a child to people who are suppose to have their customers better interest at heart. It's impossible to get a hold of the regional manager and after a month of trying to reach her and finally getting a call back she basically told us in different words 'the hell with us' we have been with them since End of December and they have gotten over $1000 dollars from us. The whole $1 dollar for your first month is basically a scam because you still end up paying over $200 for your first month. They charged us a late fee which was understandable but then also charged a lien fee for us being 3 weeks late and told us Our things would be auctioned for being not even a month late. When asked what the Lien fee was for they said it was to cut the locks and to have to prepare for auction. We paid everything in total and wanted to know why we were still being charged a lein fee since it never got to the point of a auction. They then came up with another reason for what the lein was for. Our things will be moved out of this shitty place with 0 customer service skills ASAP. I will be writing reviews everywhere possible and hope that it stops even a few people from doing service with them. UHAUL IS A GREAT STORAGE FACILTY. And I recommend anyone who is considering doing business with this shitty company to spend your money elsewhere. Withing three months I guarantee you will be charged at least $700 or more which is ridiculous. You can get a better storage facility for half the price and deal with employees that actually value your service. Not only will I be putting these reviews anywhere I can. I have begun the process to contacting the BBB and contact 6 for these absurd charges that I should not have had to pay. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. TRUST ME! read more
