Although none of the units are climate controlled, I'm happy with this location! I first called and spoke with someone at corporate, who reserved my unit. Before I signed, I went in-person to see it. The normal person wasn't there, but someone named Teddy was working at he was SO HELPFUL and personable! He showed us a couple of available units in the size we needed and it was so quick and easy to get it and sign the papers. He even went out of his way to knock down some cobwebs for me! I immediately moved things into the unit after that and then movers came a few days later for the big stuff. The gates open with the code (the app is hit or miss tbh) and the building door can be propped open, which was essential for the movers. It's very clean inside and you can tell it's well-kept. It's also very secure, which I appreciate! The gates close at 9pm so no one can access it after that. Definitely recommend this location. read more

I have been renting a 10x20 property here for a little under a year. The onsite staff is just one lady at the front office and she is a sweetheart. This is not a reflection on her by any means. However this property was closed for a repaving of the asphalt for Memorial Day weekend. During that time the property was unavailable for access for 3 complete days. Prior to this closing there was only 1 email that was sent without a subject title and no other communications were made. I run my business with having reliable access to my equipment on short notice. There was no signage for property closure posted anywhere. There was no additional emails or any text messages. They also have an app that can post announcements but didn't utilize that. In addition to that, the onsite staff gave me the local regional managers email to reach out regarding some sort of credit for the inconvenience ( I had to rent $1500 worth of equipment to cover myself that week). They gave me hopes of getting credit by providing them my invoices for the charges. I wasn't looking for a full refund because that's more than my monthly rent. But Estella (company manager) called me 10 days after with only the promise of $25 credit to my account. Mind you that's not even what it costs for 3 days of rent. Asking to speak to a manager above her and still getting the same answer. "We can't give any additional credit because due to your rental contract if we send notice we don't owe you anything." That notice of closure was sent 29 days before the construction started. With no subject title or anything prompting me to open it, no reminder, no follow up, no signage posted about closure, no notifications on the app. Promised of account credit only to give a meager $25 This place is rundown, my unit is banged up. My door is janky as well to open and feel secure. They just raised my rent as well a month ago by 40% after 6 months of renting with no added value given. The app only works sometimes to open the gate as well. Customer service is 1 star Location quality is 1 star Onsite staff lady is 5 star but she can't help with much. read more

Firstly, Kelsey is really great! That's why I gave her the 5 stars. She explains everything thoroughly and efficiently. She's very friendly, personable, and professional. The buildings themselves are older and do not have climate control like some of the newer facilities so if this is a concern you may want to look elsewhere. Kelsey did offer a product they sell that will help with mold and mildew in the units. We'll see how hot it gets in the units once summer hits. Of course this one gets the job done, but it's more expensive than other storage places around town because of its location. A storage unit we have in another part of L.A. that is twice as big, costs about half as much as this one; here at the W Jefferson and La Cienega location we are paying over $250. for a 10 x 10. The fluorescent light above our unit has been burned out for some time; the manager promised today that she would take care of it. On the plus side, the facility is clean and secure, and it would not be easy for someone to get into your unit. Do not store anything like woolen rugs or clothing here; the moths will get to it. If you want to store wool you must find an air conditioned/ temperature regulated storage, because moths don't like the cool temps. read more

This is the second time I have utilized this location for my storage needs. It was reasonably priced both times with first month deals also. The site is always extremely clean and organized. All my needed information was sent before the start of my rental date. The hours of accessibility are convenient. I literally have no complaints. And the manager on site is always attentive and I see her walking the property regularly checking the units. Much appreciated. I will definitely use this location again if I need storage. Oh and it is a very secure location with a large area for the entrance, any truck can easily maneuver in and out. read more

When I sign the agreement, the woman manager didn't mention if the insurance and the lock is optional, and thus I was under the impression that they are all required. The man was willing to clean up the unit a bit and removed spider webs. But the unit isn't very clean overall. There are leaves, napkins, and dusts on the floor. The units are separated by wooden boards. Concerns are that if my adjacent unit has pests, they easily go to my unit. read more

They increased the monthly rate by 9.7% after only 3 months. I called them and was not able to negotiate a decent increase. I was told by a customer service representative that it is a company policy to change the rate once a year. She sounded like she was pretending to check if they could adjust the increase to something more decent. It has not been a year yet, only 3 months, and if this is based on real estate market prices, it should have gone down 2% actually. The rep said I can downsize my storage to pay less; not a good solution really. The storage I have is fine, even though they have a very large construction site next door that is storing stuff outdoors sometimes and makes the place look messy and there is a lot of traffic from construction workers going in and out. Anyway, I'll be happy when I don't need them anymore. It feels like they stabbed me in the back. They do not look like and honest business. read more

I don't recommend anyone leave their valuables here. The on-site employees are GREAT but: 1. Your precious belongings and property will NOT BE SAFE or secure. 2. If you vacate your unit on the 11th of the month, they keep a full month's rent. 3. They FALSE ADVERTISE their hours of access on the front gate and on the Public Storage corporate website and use "BAIT & SWITCH" tactics in their advertising and signage. 4. They have only one working moving cart, the other has a wheel that causes the cart to shake so much that everything shakes off the cart. For almost a year they haven't replaced or repaired the wheel. 5. By my count, 11 storage units were broken into after they changed their contract without notice and cut off 6 access hours a weekday and 7 hours a weekend day. This makes it hard for people that work 9a-5p to access their property. I did a thorough review recently and videotaped the entire scene with evidence of the extent of the break-in. 6. SIX WEEKS + after the break-in no call has been returned or information provided regarding the burglary. Let me begin by saying all of the employees that work at this facility are friendly, hardworking nice people -- especially Gary, who is mentioned in other reviews on the web, although I think he is now at another facility. Here is the back story of my review. Months ago, this Public Storage facility informed me that I could only access my unit when the office was open effectively cutting 44 hours a week of access because of "BREAK-INS.". Despite the new policy, my unit and others were broken into by thieves who took the time to saw through the thick deadbolts that slide into the door frames (not the locks). Once notified by the facility of the crime, almost a month and a half ago, employees at the facility now "play dumb" and refer victims to a management employee who doesn't return calls or provide information whether the crime was reported to police or if a report was filed. The break-in to my unit occurred more than 6 weeks ago, and I still have no information. The reduced hours obviously did not provide any additional benefit or protection and was basically just a "BAIT & SWITCH" contract change without any notice to customers, yet the facility has not returned to its normal hours. To this day, the FALSE ADVERTISING and "BAIT & SWITCH" goes on, both on the Public Storage corporate website and the front gate signage. While I agree that the employees at this facility are good people, they are not helpful in assisting victims or providing information regarding the crimes that obviously have occurred on multiple occasions at this facility. Instead, the unprincipled Public Storage management places these fine young people in the position of having to deal with the inevitable consequences of their corporate policies, which includes negligence and deceptive insurance sales and coverage. Public Storage has been sued for using what some have called a "shell company" to collect insurance premiums and then laundering the premiums back to themselves while deceiving customers. The employees at this location do not seem to be trained properly or informed -- demonstrated by the insurance sales practices and their attempts to explain company policies with no understanding of contract or state law. Again, this appears to be because these hardworking employees are given no support or training by the upper management of Public Storage. I have been a Public Storage customer for decades along with my family and currently have multiple units in multiple counties. Of course, my family and I are in the process of removing my property from their facilities and will continue to warn others of their shady business practices. Please educate yourself before storing property at this or any other Public Storage facility and read your contract thoroughly. read more

The management are completely unwilling to listen to the customer and they inky want to rent out the space and make a buck. They never return calls and generally don't care. Also should have paid attention to the person complaining about broken elevations months ago when I was here signing up for a unit It's now the beginning of July during a heat wave and I tried moving my stuff in a few days ago but the elevator was "temporarily" down, my car has now been full of box's for days. Today when I went back I was told the elevator is out of order till undetermined date. This means I have to move every single box (no elevator=no dolly) up a flight of stairs and across the building in 100° weather in a building with no air conditioning . I found the facility very clean and tidy. I was greeted by a really friendly personable guy at the front office. He explained everything to me about the spot and took me back to where I would be renting and then I went back and signed the paperwork. I'm def a fan of him and knowing my stuff is there and he's there is good feeling. I just recently got a small storage unit at this place. The place doesn't seem like its the newest PS around, but I got a pretty good deal on my unit. The overall building is on the older side. The lighting and ventilation inside the building could be better. The front office area is a small shack, but they sell all the necessary items that one might need such as mattress covers, boxes, tape, locks, etc. One word of advice, if you don't have a lock they will charge you an arm and leg for one. Drive over to target which is down the street and you can pick one up for half the price. read more

Let me update the situation. The manager still never reached out. It has been months which is really ridiculous. Now the damn location had the nerve to change the f**king hours. Before we had access to property at 6:00am now it's 9:30am‍. There was no notification at all letting people know they can't access their belongings. When I arrived I was shocked my damn code was not working. Come to find out the damn hours were changed with no notifications at all. My move out is coming real fucking soon and trust I will not be paying that last month. This location owes me for sitting outside several times waiting to access my things I pay to keep at this location and for me having to climb steps several times with a bad bc no one notified customers the f**king elevator was gonna be out for over a month. Shitty ass service with a terrible manager. I have not had time due to me running my business but trust I that ass is gonna get a few choice words before I move my stuff. Got me f**ked up for real.
