Don't waste your money on Public Storage with their promotion of one month free/ dollar month. I rented back in May 2024 a 10'x7.5' second floor use an elevator. 3 months later my payment went to $123 and 3 months after that Nov. 2024 it went to $161. You have to call them and state you are going to cancel your storage for them to leave it as is or lower a bit. But still $161 and I am on the second floor not 1st or drive access. What a rip off glad I found a bigger space, (100 sq.)with drive access no more carrying things on the elevator for 2 dollar less. Don't get rip-off!!!!!! We work hard for our money and at these times. read more

I stored an extra car outside at the 999 Lambert location. I was not expecting rate increases evey couple of months, but 60% over 4-5 months was insane. The space didn't get any bigger, or better, they don't answer the phones, and the online chat is useless. I would suggest using this place for very short periods of time only, or avoiding it in the first place. read more

Terrible place! Not only was I not informed that they close at 6pm but I was told by a teen girl working behind the counter (mind you after I paid movers & moved in) that they could arrange for me to rent at another PS that stays open later... life hasn't hit her yet bless her heart. But the real kick in the crotch, beside the fact that the units don't even go up to the ceiling wasting space I pay for, is that my price has increased $100 in a year. What a rip off. Unless you absolutely need to store something sentimental save your $ each month & buy new things or go thrifting. Don't give these thieves your money. We have a huge storage at the beach NICE place for under $100. Privately owned storage facility who doesn't feel the need to bend over their customers. Stay away if you can. ***UPDATE*** I called Customer Service and they were GREAT! They discounted my rate for 6 months. I am happy about that, but I know after that 6 months it will probably go up again. I'll update my review again after 6 months, if I am still with them. I gave them 2 stars now based on Customer Service. WOW! What a great way to start off the New Year! My 5 x 10 storage space that I have been renting for 4-5 years now, will be costing me $212! When we first rented it in November of 2019, it was $96. I would say slowly but surely they have jacked up the rate, but it was hardly slow! In June of 2020, we were paying $121, in July they raised it over $40 to to $166! Now, 6 months later, they have raised it another $46 to $212!!! That is a $91increase in 6 months! That is shameful, especially when the rate to rent a similar unit (on their website. right now) shows at $118 a month! We will definitely be cleaning out our storage unit as soon as we can. I don't want to give this company any more of my money than I have to. I totally get prices going up, BUT THIS IS TOTALLY CRAZY! read more

DO NOT RENT HERE! I have complained multiple times about there always bring spills around my unit. Also, I have seen and let management know about a homeless man that sleeps in his unit. I went in a few weeks ago and my unit had dried urine on the unit and inside of the unit. When I told the office, they just gave me cleaning supplies and took me oh, well. I have escalated this situation to support and nobody ever calls back. Today I finally talked to the Senior GM, Balal and $25 is the best offer that a company like public storage can offer. Such a joke! They advised me to go to my insurance even though the damage to my property is less then the deductible. BEWARE! read more

They close at 6 pm now so screw the people that work till six or five and commute home and need to grab something from their storage at 630 or 7 or 8. We called to ask why they changed their hours and they said there was a lot of theft. Ok like that's my problem... why not just hire a guard ? I'm sure you can afford it with what you charge a month. They raised the rent on us twice since we moved in and every time they raise it it's a $50 increase, they closed for a whole day to redo the pavement so i had no access to my merchandise but refuse to offer a credit for that day. Absolutely Awful! Signed up for storage on February 27, 2021 and began to load in an entire apartment worth of stuff. At 5pm, we were on our last trip up the elevator when the elevators stopped working and gave us this message.."Public Storage is currently closed, please call customer service for further assistance". About 9 other people were in the same situation we were; middle of the move with unsecured lockers. We had our storage locker unlocked and we were making our last trip when they locked us out of the facility. The employee at the front desk told us "nothing I can do about it" and got in his car and LEFT! We got nowhere with customer service when we decided we'd need to come back first thing in the AM to finish the move and lock our locker. THEN..... We were locked inside the gate! The gate would not open and gave the same message as the elevator. We were locked in on the property. We had to call the cops to try and get off the lot. After about 30 minutes, one of the others got through to a live person at customer service an got a special gate code to get out. I have never in my 44 years of life on this planet had a company be so willfully unhelpful. USE ANYWHERE BUT HERE! read more

The facility is nice and the staff is great. What's not great is the huge price gouging. I have tried to request a rate decrease 3 x now and all I get after an agent submits it is a recorded line saying I'm not eligible. They raised my rent more than 25% in 1 month and it is over $100 more per month. This is completely unacceptable. Their published rates are over $100 less than they are trying to increase my unit. We have been patrons for over 7 years and as a result of a similar increase, last month we downsized to avoid an increase in another unit. Moving units is no small task. It is extremely frustrating and time consuming to have to move all of our things from a 10 x 15 unit just to pay the same amount we are now. I don't typically write negative reviews like this, but I feel they have tied my hands. I will consider revising it if they listen to and resolve my complaint. read more

Im writing this review hours after making a police report. My unit was BROKEN INTO. When I first looked at this place, I asked the employee how safe it was. 2 different employees assured me the place was pretty safe. However, after spending over $400 over the course of 6 months, my unit has been broken into and they took half of my belongings. When the police officer came, she told me there has been several incidents in that particular business. Dont be fooled by the coded gate or elevator. Thieves still manage to get access (i wonder how). I wish I knew how dangerous this place was. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. read more

I have had a 5'X10' unit at Public Storage for 2 yrs. I started at $87 a month... it's now $236 a month and as of MAY 2024, , would have gone to $300 a month!!!! That is in TWO YEARS!.. I , have cleared out my unit now as of April 29th. I have tried to verify that my AUTO PAYMENT will NOT be done on May 1st. but ?...It's IMPOSSIBLE to TALK TO A HUMAN BEING. Now I did give them my move out day as tomorrow, ON LINE. Today I was at the location to finish up ...and stopped at the office to verify all this...BUT?.. NO ONE THERE.. AT 11AM on a MONDAY!!! I called the location ....impossible to talk to anyone.....I called the 800 #.....IMPOSSIBLE TO TALK TO SOMEONE..... If you are looking for a storage unit?... When I reserved my unit, it took a couple of changes to get the right one due to the location and size . When I got my first bill it was a mess. Apparently their billing system was very confused by those initial changes. The people at the front desk couldn't even explain what happened with my bill. They had to escalate it to their district office. I got a credit but it wasn't the right amount. I gave up trying to make sense of it. Then when we vacated the unit- we paid for the whole month of July, vacated on 7/15, and learned they do NOT give a credit if you leave early, and said it was in the rental agreement. DON'T RENT HERE. My indoor unit was compromised with my lock on. Specifically, in Oct 2019, I rented a 5'x5' indoor unit and I stored property to the max. The pandemic happened, life got busy, I didn't check on it but I paid the increasing rent on time. When the cost got too high, I chose to remove my belongings on March 25, 2023, after faithfully paying the fees and using a MASTER LOCK made for storage lockers. I went to the facility and found that more than half of my belongings were missing-stolen but someone else's junk was in my locker. I was so confused and surprised. I checked to see if it was my locker and it was. A few of my belongings and some of someone else's crap was in my locked storage locker! I cannot tell you how pissed I am for having paid for storage for all these years for someone else's crap and about 80% of my stuff was missing, stolen. These are my thoughts on the matter... 1) why the hell didn't Public Storage (PS) tell me that they have had a rash of thefts & notify customers that they should just check on their storage items?! If there is a class action lawsuit. I'm in. 2) This multi-million dollar company is bullshit for knowing the damage & theft trends, knowing their properties are ripe for & increasing in theft crime and not enacting more security measures to address this, such as installing more cameras within the locker hall areas, offering better locks, requiring certain locks, tranistioning to more high tech measures, having roaming security or even just calling customers to inform them...that other customers experienced theft, you may want to just check up on your locker. I guess I should thank them for reminding me every month that they plan to increase my rent & withdraw that payment on time. 3) For everyone out there, please know PS & prob other similar businesses will apparently get broken into. It seems more like a guarantee to expect to get stolen from than not, it seems according to the reviews...I unfortunately saw too late as I looked into my issue of theft at public storage units. I strongly recommend that you cut your losses & just sell or throw away your things becuz I bet you dollars to donuts your stuff will get stolen too. I told my teenager, don't ever use a storage facility & as your virtual mom...I say the same to you. Btw, on the day I found out my stuff was stolen. I observed a man lingering around with his own dolly looking suspicious in the area near me and my spidey senses felt a crime was afoot. Tomorrow, I'm going to ask the manager to check the area he was removing stuff from becuz I can still identify him. Earlier, he was in different part of the floor acting all sus then came to my area later. Also, when I was exiting a lady in a massive truck chock full of stuff couldn't get out of the gate & wouldn't get out of her truck to punch in the number. I just watched her & she just waited too. She waved me to go through. I punched in my # & I waited & blocked her exit but eventually had to move. The policy is each vehicle enters & exits with their own code but she didn't. Just shady. 4) Don't buy a Master Lock for storage units. They are crap. See my complaint to Master Lock: ​Dear Master lock, I used a variety of your locks throughout my lifetime to date, from bike locks, locker rm, book locker, luggage locks, to public storage locks....but not anymore I won't. Your poor quality lock just cost me a fortune that I'll never forget or forgive. This terrible lock advertised by and purchased from HOME DEPOT said to be the #1 choice of professionals & shows a picture of it locked on a storage unit, which I bought it for, was apparently picked and then easily relocked back onto my storage unit like nothing ever happened. Model#: M40XTCCSEN Sku#: 151573 Internet#: 202260768 Your awful lock along with the unforgivably systemically poor security and Public Storage business (indoors, no less) cost me loss of valuable & irreplaceable property and now much anxiety. I'm upset I paid all that money to buy your substandard, pickable lock, the false advertising at Home Depot, and the crappy security at Public Storage in La Habra, Ca and I want my money back for this useless lock immediately. I look forward to hearing back on my testimony & how I can receive my money back. Thank you. 5) PS has got some nerve to charge me all the increasing fees to have such a track record of theft & security issues. 6) While the manager says he's never heard of a lock being picked and relocked before ... I saw at least 1 review below that says it happened. I reported this theft to the police. I hate thieves & liars but esp. being up-charged for crap service knowing the pervasive systemic theft issue that PS should have addressed. If they can't keep up with technology changes and theft, they should not be in business & should not take our money let alone increase fees! Oh wow! After talking to Lorraine, she assured me that my concerns would get addressed and that my experience would be better. If I had any issues, I could talk to the site manager and he would fix it. Well, take a look at the pic. A big, fat moving truck blocking my space so close I couldn't even get in between to my space. Tsk, tsk. It was after 8pm and the office was closed. So much for reaching the manager... It hasn't even been a week since I was contacted about my review. Like I told Lorraine, painting a no parking, striped area in front of the doors in the driveway would remind people not to block them. She told me that eventually a parking area across from the spaces would be created. I told her that knowing human nature, people would park as close as possible to the freight elevator and that parking spaces wouldn't help. So I asked the people to move their truck and all I got when I asked them to move was, yeah, yeah, we're just about done... 5 minutes later they moved. There's tons of parking all over that place and even across the driveway where the spaces wouldn't be blocked. But I guess, walking the extra 10 feet was too much for these movers who were using hand trucks and dollies... No one ever told me when I leased this space that it would be blocked most of the time. If I had known that, I would have picked another spot. For all my inconvenience, they should charge less for me and the 3 or so spaces around me since we all get blocked...and post a disclaimer about it for future customers, too. Nice commitment to fixing things... Sheesh!!! read more

I do not appreciate getting a call on a Sunday and leaving a voicemail saying there is an "important matter" and that I need to call them back ASAP. I called them back, they were just calling to tell me about the bill due on the 27th, it is the 3rd. This is something that can wait until regular business hours. The bill isnt even due for 24 more days. An email would have been greatly appreciated instead of a call on a Sunday. read more
