Our property sold while we were off Island and we needed to find a storage facility that would allow us to rent online as well as allowing our realtor access. We found renting at the Hilton Head Island Public Storage at 27 Office Park Road easy and inexpensive. We only needed a small unit, and we rented sight unseen. We came back to the Island three months later and packed up our items, and planned on coming back the next day to sweep out the bin. We received a call the next morning; a concerned office manager who saw the lock had been removed and the bin was clear. She just wanted to make sure all was well. read more

Soooooo my mother was relocating to the is Beautiful island and we had the pleasure of meeting a young lady who said she was a native by the name of Roberta she told us that she was the on-site manager and she answered every question we had concerning the company and the beautiful places about Hilton head even though we seem to be a little Anxiouswe had so many questions never once did she make usFeel unwelcome and she is one of the companies best I advise you to go see Roberta at this location she was amazing I am unsure if her managers my district manager will ever see this review but she is definitely an asset to the company thanks again Roberta read more

It thought it was a typical storage unit place.... Until I moved all my things out. Holy crap! I think that i have found every single type of critter and bug in my things. If I could give zero stars, I would. I just lost an hour of my life over what should have been a 10-15 minute transaction. I don't know the name of the girl I was working with, but she was the most inept employee of any company I have done business with. I will be calling management to complain. I repeatedly asked her if leasing the unit would take much longer, as I had an appointment I needed to get to, as well as having my 15 and 18 year olds sitting in the car. She could never give me a straight answer. Why it was so difficult to have me sign a lease and collect payment, I'll never know. I texted my husband during this nightmare and he found me a unit at Dillon Self Storage. I was in and out of their office, keys in hand, in ten minutes. Never again will I use a Public Storage unit. read more

I have been renting here since 2016. The location is safe. The buildings have not flooded, unlike much of this island. The staff, especially Travis, have been very proactive and helpful. I am very pleased with the service provided there behind Harris Teeter. read more

I rented a 10 x 10 storage unit at this facility from Nov 2013 thru Mar 2016. The facility was convenient to my need, located just outside of the main entrance to Sea Pines. The facility entrance is hidden behind the movie theater in the shopping center anchored by Harris Teeter, but otherwise easy to access. The staff was always helpful and competent, from my initial check-in thru vacating the unit. My unit was clean when I first rented it, and the facility was always clean, with no evidence of varmints getting into my unit. I'd recommend this facility. read more

first experience with them, which was excellent. was on vacation and needed storage for PWC on trailer. the staff were very helpful on phone after being forwarded by central number to closest location for my needs. did express check in online and value was excellent. place was secure, clean and staff was knowledgeable and friendly. only downside 1. not easy to find. they need to be a bit more specific since it's hidden in the back of a shopping plaza. your gps and google won't get you there 2.seem like a lot of paperwork to fill out upon arrival even though i gave them everything on line on their preferred method of check in. will use them again. read more

Classic Bait and switch operation. Price quoted was for an almost inaccessible unit. Switched to floor unit at 2x the price. Ok. Then, the discounts which were available on the other unit were not offered on the unit with easier access, thus more than doubling the cost. OK. Ready to sign - not quite. There is an "Administration Fee" to be added that tacks on an additional 40%. Proceed at your own risk. read more

Needed a parking spot for our trailer for a week. Found this property via the national reservation number and it was right around the corner from where we were staying. Lydia and Sandra were very helpful in getting things setup, showing the property and the space I was renting to make sure it would work. RIP OFF REPORT!!! Terrible experience and they don't care at all!!! While staying at Hilton Head we needed a place to store our van due to our rental property not allowing large vans to park at the home we rented. We were given the number to public storage and felt it was going to be a simple inexpensive option to our problem...but it was not. We were give the run around and ultimately felt screwed when it was all said and done. We called the number given by the rental company only to find it wasn't the location we needed. After 10 min on the phone being sold on all their options and pricing and getting all of our info we were transferred to another branch. Not one thing that I spent my time telling the first attendant was relayed to the next so I had to go through it all again. This wouldn't have been a problem if they weren't the right location either. So I was then transferred to another location again. Before transferring I had the attendant quote me the rates and the parking options of the Office Park Road location in an attempt not to waste any more of my time. The joke was on me though because that didn't save me any time at all. I had to give every detail that I gave the other 2 locations of Public Storage to the 3rd in order to get a quote though each time they said they were going to send the info I was giving on to the next location when I was transferred. After another 10 minutes of time I was finally given a quote and told to bring the Van in to park it there. Once I arrived, 5 min later, all the prices changed and I started to smell something fishy. My rate went up $40 over what I was quoted over the phone for the parking. I complained to the Lydia Meraz and told her I felt like this was a bait and switch. I explained to her how this was BS and how I didn't appreciate being given the run around. She didn't care. So after making it clear to her that I felt like I was being screwed getting charged so much, I wanted to get on with my vacation so I told her to go ahead and charge it. Then when she handed me the final paperwork another $25 was added to the already inflated rate and charged to my card. At this point I almost lost it. Yet another surprise!!! There was no mention at all about this $25 charge in any of the 3 conversations I had with any of the Public Storage attendants. Again Lydia didn't care that she nor anyone else had told me about this surprise charge and was unwilling to adjust any of the pricing to make this right. I had her call her boss Sherri Gamrami and she didn't care at all about all the shenanigans that I had gone through just trying to park a van. No discount was made to my pricing and no apology offered either. I will NEVER do business with Public Storage ever again. As a business owner, I know how important it is to be honest and upfront with people about charges and rates. I guess this is something they have never heard of. Location and facilities are very good. Folks who work there are very nice. When they raised their prices from $160 to $180 per month for a 10x20 garage I moved my stuff out and vacated. The locks and keys they supply are a bit annoying since you have to spend time with them to unlock. If the location is good for you and the price doesn't bother you, then this place is fine. read more

Lydia and Josie are the incredibly helpful staff members at this location. I was bringing a waverunner down from Augusta to park for use during a week's vacation and was running late. They checked in with me by phone, maintained contact and had me all set before close. Great efficiency and pleasant service! Finding the location can be a little difficult. When I first used the location during the summer of 2012, I had to drive around searching a little. It's behind the movie theatre in the Harris Teeter shopping center where Marley's is located, right outside of Sea Pines. While mildly hard to find, the location couldn't be better for a vacationer. There has been a pine tree in the middle of the parking lot in front of my spot on Hilton Head Island Office Park since Hurricane Matthew 4 weeks. For a company this size I do not understand why an issue of this magnitude should be lingering for this long. There is no excuse for this situation. Over the years they have no trouble going up on the spot I rent and not changing anything, just supply and demand. They say they have looked at it? and? nothing. But I bet they will still charge me for it.This is not the employees problem it goes higher than that it is the supervisors in charge of the property they are the ones that should have the authority to have this problem fixed And refuse to do so.Probably something to do with budgets not customers. read more

I recently rented a small unit at the Office Park location. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Lighting is very dim and none in my unit, making it difficult to see stored objects. Have to bring strong flashlight. We arrive yesterday to find that all the exterior doors have been replaced. These doors are very heavy (which is good for security) but new doors lack the kick-stand type gadget to keep it open while entering and leaving the building. Lack of a mechanism to keep the door open while taking items in and out of the building makes these transfers extremely difficult. It was impossible to do both by myself and nothing I had with me was heavy enough to hold the door open. It also means no supplemental lighting as you enter the building. I spoke to a very courteous woman in the office. Said others had recently expressed similar concerns. She called the area manager to find out what was planned as a replacement for the 'kick-stand'. The manager's answer was a stunner: 'We aren't going to do anything. Renters have to bring their own door block when they use the facility.' I am a 75 year old woman with osteoporosis. It is dangerous for me to lift any item heavy enough to block the door. Am sure I'm not the only customer who fits that description. I plan to release my unit as soon as I make arrangements elsewhere. read more
