https://maps.app.goo.gl/k2Q6y4sxhvNNH3vh8 My personal items…read morewere damaged because the Public Storage facility did not properly provide environmental protection from the outside elements (rain). They should take responsibility for their inability to maintain their facility properly. We had been renting an inside, climate-controlled 5x10 space for over 10 months. On 30 January 2025, we went to move our items out of that space and into a 10x10 space. Once we moved the first boxes at the entrance of our locker, we noticed that there were puddles of water on the floor and that it had soaked into our boxes and damaged our items. Numerous items were covered in mold and were ruined. Upon further inspection, it was obvious that water had leaked from the outside door of the facility and leaked across the facility floor into our storage locker. I immediately went to the office and got Patrick, who worked for Public Storage. He took videos and pictures as well, acknowledging that the water had enter from the outside and leaked into our unit. I showed him our damaged items and also provided him additional pictures via text message. He said we would notify Sherrie, the DM and that she would be in touch. This was on 30JAN2025. On 10 FEB, I contacted the Public Storage "WE CARE" line since the Sherrie, the DM had still not reached out to me. On 11 FEB, Sherrie did contact me and said that there is nothing they could do since I did not purchase insurance from Public Storage. My damage was caused because the Public Storage facility did not properly provide environmental protection from the outside elements (rain). Employees should have noticed the water running in from the outside, through the door, and into my unit. If they had done proper checks and maintenance, they could have notified me earlier of possible water leaking into my unit, and we could have prevented this damage. This was not caused by one event. This was caused by numerous events over a period of time.

Everything is now handled on line, from reserving the unit, to getting the security codes, to setting up the monthly payments. On our most recent rental I took care of it all from my recliner in less than 10 minutes. The facility we're using is clean, well lit, and secure. The on-site moving carts are always in great shape. Public Storage makes it very easy and convenient.

Public Storage at the Marshland location had availability for about $50 per month. In the past 3ish years, they have raised the price by at least $10, each year. When we picked up our things from our unit today, we were highly surprised to find all of our things had molded and rusted and were completely ruined. The entire unit itself was moldy and the whole floor of the unit was soaking wet, with the exception of one very small spot in the very center of the back. (Mind you, today is a beautiful, sunny day, no rain in several days, and the floor was completely wet.) When we rented the unit we were forced to purchase a special lock at an additional cost because the employees access, check on, and air out the units on a monthly basis. That they even spray for pests/ rodents. None of which was clearly ever done, as there were also findings of rodent droppings and bugs. When we brought that up, they said they didn't know where we heard that because they don't do that. We paid even more money for the insurance.... However, with the economy the way it is, we can't replace half the things we had in this unit for this amount, which was the maximum amount allowed. We shall see how they handle this, as I'm not getting the feeling they care about me as a customer at this point, after speaking with Customer Service about my concerns. Upon strapping our "now trash" down to our trailer, we saw approximately 20 nails and screws, some rusted, some new, in the parking lot in one little area, right where we parked. We picked up what we could, but beware if you're going out there! It's obvious that this place is not well managed or kept up and needs some serious work.

Shana was awesome to work, very helpful and went out of her way to help coming from Tenneesseeread more
