Some of the customer service staffs of 800-688-8057 are really unhelpful . More than 20 minuets talking with this representative, no any directly answer helps to my questions and requests. I asked hime to transfer my call to the manager or complain department, his replying is still No. I have more than 20 years Storage rental history. I have two units of storage with Public Storage for at least 10 years. The sales and representative I contacted before were reasonable, at least they could provide some of helps and solutions on the same questions as I have this time. Now, I feel the Public Storage is only focusing how to grab the new customer, and the service they can provide is just keeping increase the rent once you become their customer. As a long term customer, now I recommend Not to use this company! read more

Tried to bring our stuff to store at the cedar blvd facility in Newark, but the office was already closed at 5:30 instead of the advertised 6pm. So couldn't get the lock we were charged for. Also, they charge for insurance, which they say you can cancel Later (rip off), and they charge you for a lock, which you can also get "refunded" if you have your own (another rip off). Also,,no gate access code was sent to us so I had to call customer service to get one. Finally, our unit is right next to an exterior door which has been permanently sealed off, so instead it is at the end of a long hallway from the other end. Not a great experience. read more

Horrible horrible horrible service! The office is closed most of the time during business hours. I booked it online and completed all the signup process online and all I had to do was just go and show my ID and start moving my stuff in the storage unit but the person in the office was gone for almost 2 hours and I was just standing there with my movers. I ended up paying them for two more hours for just sitting there because the office person was not there to check my ID and give me the access code during their business hours. Booking the storage costed me more money, time and a lot of stress. read more

I was moving my entire apartment j to storage and, after boxing everything up, realized I might not be able to fit it in the size unit I had reserved. I spoke with Ashley and she came in on a day when they don't have people in the office just to help me. She helped me find the right size storage unit and even offered to come back and change it to a bigger size if my things didn't fit. I'm so appreciative of the great customer service! If I could give negative stars, I would. The staff are unfriendly, but I could roll with that is the services were actually good. But they are not. THREE TIMES my unit has been broken into, but the management doesn't care. They raise the rent every six months (paying $460 for 10x12 space in a cruddy location seems excessive). AND, they do not pro-rate if you move early. You still have to pay for the entire month. There are VASTLY better places (better staff/better quality) for less money out there. The manager, Dale is the man!! This place is clean, well lit, has security cameras and is right off of Auto Mall and 880.... Dale goes above and beyond with his customer service and was super nice and patient with me even when I signed up for a unit and then within a short time, realized I needed a larger one The only issue I have with some Public Storage's and some units is their "actual size" vs estimated size on their website. For example, I've moved into a unit that is said to be 10x20 , which would be 200 square feet.... When using a tape measure, the unit is actually barely 9 feet wide and 18 feet long... Not to be a stickler or anything but 9 x 18 = 162 square feet which is obviously way closer to the 10x15 units that they offer. The actual size of 162 sq ft vs the advertised sq feet of 200 is a big difference That being said, this place still gets 5 stars due to Dale, the cleanliness, the security, having an on site manager, and also I'm sure all units aren't this far off on their advertised square footage. read more

I came to get some details about storage sizes, pricing, and availability at this location. I'm very pleased and impressed with the service that I had received from DALE. There was another costumer that was renting an unit from this location when I walked in. Dale quickly answered some of the detailed questions that I had and asked me to hang tight for while he is finishing up with the customer before me. Since there were some private matters to be discussed even Dale kindly asked if I could wait outside to respect the other customer's privacy. With my complicated situation for renting an unit, Dale was thinking of solutions and options to make sure that I am able to get the best resolution. The questions that I had were all answered. Awesome experience at this location! My packaging needs were definitely met!! Dale helped me find the proper boxes and explained how to properly tape and secure the box so everything doesn't fall out from the bottom (something that would happen to me). I ask a lot of questions, sometimes the same questions twice. Dale was patient and did not make me feel like I was impinging on his time (which is a commendable skill having worked in customer service for several years). I would rate this place six stars if they carried hot pink Hello Kitty tape- but that right there is asking too much. Nonetheless, I will be returning to this location. read more

If I could give them a 0 Stars I would.... we reserved a 10x30 unite for checkin Saturday 2 days before. Confirmed Friday late afternoon checkin time with Peggy. Then Saturday morning at 11. Get a call with a message saying our unit was no longer available and that she could reserve us a 10x20 at another location. When I called she said they don't hold them it's first come first serve. Then why have people reserve and you call email and text 8 times to confirm checkin time the day before if your not even holding it in the first damn place! Horrible customer service!! Left us scrounging around ab hour before checkin with a full u-Haul of stuff and no place to unload it in to. Will never do business with this location or refer anyone to them! From the way she spoke to me she didn't care at all that she left us hanging and her horrible customer service and all she could repeat was it's policy to rent to the first person that comes to pay for the unit sorry. I will also be reaching out to their corporate office to complain because if you're not going to hold A unit that was reserved and confirmed the night before for moving then what's the point of having a reservation! read more

I have been a customer renting from this facility for almost 2 years. The grounds are safe, clean and well lit. I have done some price comparisons as I was considering moving to a facility closer to my home but after speaking with other companies I decided to retain my unit here because of the great price and staff. Dale is the on site manager and he is amazing. Always helpful whenever I had any concerns or problems figuring out how to use the lifts ( I have a unit on the 2nd floor) there are Public Storage facilities all across the bay but if this location works for you I say rent here! read more

Today I received the best customer service from Haley. Upon entering the office I had a situation regarding my public storage unit in Sacramento. I was hesitant whether or not I could find a resolution to the problem I was in. I was so gracefully greeted by Haley who went outside of her way to reach out to the property where I currently have my belongings and retained information directly from them to properly guide me in the right direction. I was able to resolve the situation without the stress of trying to make it to Sacramento in time before their office closes.
