The property manager called the Friday prior to move in day, to set up auto pay and inform me of the operating hours. When I realized 6pm was too early of a close time, I realized I had made a mistake and needed a transfer to the next nearby location that closed at 9pm. He told me he could help me finish my registration and transfer me after. I was never transferred, they just added a second unit at the second location. Now stuck with 2 units that I haven't even moved into yet. When I went to discuss with the first location in person on move in day, no one was on site and the unit had a manager lock on it, so I couldn't move in even if I wanted to. I waited about 30 minutes and no one ever showed up. I called and spoke with their 24/7 CS team, they told me I would get a call back from the property manager. Still haven't heard anything. I've worked with Public storage in other cities and have had great experiences, but this one is by far the worst and most inconvenient. read more

This is the worst place to do business. They raise rent, charge hideous fees if you're a day late, cut your lock and threaten to auction your things if you don't pay in the first week of every month. They don't care if you are in the hospital either! Customer service in person and in the phone is the worst. My rent started at $110 and is now $255. I can't wait to get healthy and get my stuff out of there. THEY ARE THE WORST! Also. You can only access your storage during THEIR business hours. Went Monday and the unit was good. Thursday got a phone call saying the unit was broken into. Workers laughed at my wife while they were fixing the whole and said "hope you don't have anything valuable in here". Told the onsite manager I prepaid December and that I wanted a refund since obviously I didn't need the unit anymore. He told me they couldn't refund it until the unit was completely empty. While he was laughing at me on the phone he was saying he would refund December if I had everything out by the end of the month. I've used a few different storage companies in different cities over the years, and I to say that this one by far has been the worst. In fact, the others have been bad at all. I have never experienced such an insect/pest - infected, dirt-dusty storage unit in all of my life. Every time I go to this unit, I am met with cob webs everywhere lizards, black widow spiders, mosquitos - you name it - and a pile of dust! I have to sweep and kill bugs just to get in the unit! Great facility! In fact this was my first time ever utilizing a storage unit -- which I had to as I was renovating my house and emptied our garage in preparation of new epoxy and cabinets. Booking was easy! I did everything virtually online, including the selection (size of unit), insurance, and even my move in date! I ended up having to go to the office for a lock since a standard lock would not work - this was acquired for a reasonable rate. My total duration was under two months, and when it came to moving out, it was a breeze, the gentlemen assisted with inspection and vacating of u nit which ensured that I'd no longer be billed. There's operation hours (for access) and accessible gates for entrance and exit with a code. Did I forget to mention the online portal allows for you to pay (autopay) your unit, including cancellation when you're ready!? Yes it does :) Definitely a great first time experience. Would recommend for anyone else who hasn't rented but is interested - your stuff is safe here! read more

I made reservations for 2 units. Basically they are tricking you to get more expensive units by saying that the reservations I made NO GOOD. They called me 6-7 times I called them 3-4 times regarding the reservations. Be careful when you sign up with them because the person who is in the front desk absolutely have NO IDEA about her job. Rented Unit in Fontana, CA . The Unit Manager is friendly but hardly in the office or available to service you in the ways you need. I have called at least 10 times in the last hour. With no response. Besides customer service at the facility not being available. At the entry of my lease, I was invited to sign up for a bigger unit at $70 plus insurance a Month. For some reason each Month my bill increased and is now $140 plus $11 insurance. That is $151 bucks for storage. That is more than my cell phone bill. Also, I asked what would the pro-rate be as I move out Dec 1st. I only would need 1 day in December. After several transfers between departments on customer service I finally got an answer from a sub par attitude on the other side of the line that told me I would need to pay the full amount of December for 1 day. What kind of rip off company is this? My time with Public Storage has been less than enjoyable and I feel a bit taken advantage of. Definitely look into a mom n pop storage facility. I'll start by saying that it was great that last minute availability was not a problem here and we were excited to be able to make this move happen at such short notice. Now... My friend had an appointment with Ramona today and was discouraged from renting because of a couple of things. First, she was told that she would have to walk down to a storage space far from the gate (without accompaniment) and when she did, the unit would not open. Then she had to walk all the way back (passing a gold cart btw) just to be told of extra charges once she got back into the office. A unit that started at $84 (due and payable end of month too) turned into $139 plus May charges due on the first! As I watched from the truck, Ramona never seemed to address the issue of my friend not being able to look at the unit and acted as if it didn't matter. Seems to me like this was horrible service and it didn't matter to Ramona whether my friend rented the space or not. The lady at in the office was extremely rude to my senior mother. I reserved a storage unit for my mom online. I called the office to confirm the hold and that my mom would pay and sign documents once she arrived. The customer service over the phone was pleasant and professional, but when my mom went there, the hispanic staff lady at the counter was extremely rude to her. Telling her she needs to hurry up and unload her truck because they closed in an hour. What storage closes at 5pm????? The rude lady then continuously drove by the unit on a golf cart, rushing her to finish up. It was an extremely hot day, over 100 degrees. Mom needed to change the phone # on file and asked the rude staff lady if she could change it. The rude staff told her to come to office, and mom asked if she could get a ride on the golf cart. The rude lady said no and drove off. Fortunately I wasn't there, my nephew took my mom because I wouldn't tolerant that rudeness. I got broken into at this public storage on Valley Blvd in Fontana, the one right next to extra storage space/old k-mart. They stole 2 nuwave ovens I received as gifts, my laptop, a bin full of expensive Wolfgang puck pots and pans. I saw a review just now about this place being burgerlized many times. I do not recommend storing here. It's not worth the hassle and they will lock you out. They cannot gaurantee they will be there to let you in, and if you rent a small multi unit, they will lock access to the main door, barring you for entry to your own unit. The excuse given is that they legitimately cannot guarantee their workers will be there to work on time and "we usually don't have people there that early." They've changed the times of access on us multiple times throughout the few years here, and the times in person and online are different. I've had my unit broken into once, moved to a new unit, and then locked out of that one. Fought with them for access for a few weeks, nothing done until I threatened legal action. Whoever is running this place is not consistent, and it's horrible. Corporate doesn't help or care, district manager spent more time lecturing me on my tone rather than provide solutions. My stuff was locked in again this time... Of course I'm upset you've held my items from me multiple times. He said they've lost business and they are ok losing more. Not the place to rent from. This overall customer service here is absolutely TERRIBLE, Rene needs to be held accountable for what we experienced today. I was helping a friend move into her storage unit and was only over by 25min, mind you this information about closing at 6pm was not communicated to my friend moving in prior. Rene approached my friend 10min after 6 and mentioned she knew the time of closing, however it was booked online. Rene's customer service and professionalism is absolutely horrific, she kept bothering us while we were rushing to get everything in there and was literally taking away from what we were doing unfortunately. I got involved because she clearly needed someone to talk too, my boyfriend told her nicely we will be out of here in 2min, her response was "Good", I couldn't believe how rude and inconsiderate. Come to find out the unit next to mine leaked a substance into my unit damaging my items. The insurance they offer is a SCAM it only cover natural disasters like tsunamis and tornadoes.....Ikr. Public storage claims they can not get a hold of the company to request reimbursement for my damages items. And they are refusing to give the information of the company. I will not be a victims to a SLUM COMPANY. The cope rate office is even worse. My lawyer is working on it now. They are going to wish they would have just compensated me for the amount. If I could give a negative number of stars I would. The woman working on Sunday, April 11th and today, April 17th is so rude and disrespectful. She lacks customer service and integrity. We arrived at the facility, exterior doors closest to my unit dont open. She said, "just walk around. You can do it. Put one foot in front of the other. But remember, we close at 5pm. If you're here, we will lock you in." Today, we asked to use the restroom, she said "You should've gone to the bathroom before you got here. If I need to pee - I must go home or to a store too. You can't use our bathrooms!" She lacked sympathy or empathy that my friend was about to have an accident. She just said, "Hurry up, we close st 5pm." This is two times she didn't give a rats butt about anyone but herself. They wouldn't honor the pricing given by the public storage representative via phone and email. She said, "im giving you a discount but it actually cost is $30 more than quoted. Never go here! They don't care about their customers or customer service. Shame on you! you can not find any storage place worst than this: you have to wait until 9:30 am to go in. yes !!! 9:30am terrible security, i don't see cameras around and many units you can see the locks broke in. last month they raised the rent by more than 30%. I would just first like to say I had an awful experience when I went to your Fontana location, 17173 Valley Blvd, Fontana CA. 92335. First I tried to call to confirm my appointment, 3 times with no answer, When I did arrive no one was in the office, it said will arrive back at 5:40 pm, it wasn't until 6 pm that Katelyn the manager showed up and had no customer with her? Then I was told she wouldn't help me because they didn't schedule appointments at 5:30 pm which I was told I could do over the phone because my work schedule. She then proceeded to tell me my reservation wouldn't open and wouldn't be able to help me again. This was to set up a unit today, and move in today. And She refused to help me. She proceeded to help another gentleman and pretty much set me to the side. Basically wasting both my time and gas, I guess that stuff is expendable to her. Also either your staff isn't good at communication or they have other issues. So I called to confirm with the original gentlemen who called me at #909-394-7665, he was able to access my stuff and wasn't sure either. So I pretty much feel like she was being lazy, because she helped the person who had the easier transaction. I believe you have a very poor manager working at this facility, with bad customer service skills. I can tell you that even though your rates are low, I would prefer to pay a little more and be treated more appropriately, like an actual customer and not a chore. Learn from my mistake and stay away from this public storage facility. Several units, including mine, were broken into using only a screwdriver and hammer. There are only 4 cameras on the entire premises and none of them directly cover any of the units. If you decide to rent a unit here, make sure to read the fine print on the insurance pamphlet because, they only cover items that you have proof of (receipts, pictures). I have had 2 units here, one for 4 years, another for 2 years due to moving a lot recently. the people i have dealt with are nice. My review happens today because my unit was broken into and i have lost many sentimental items from my deceased husband. they say they check locks twice a day and I was notified on 9/8 that my unit was missing a lock and they had placed one of theirs on it. so the theft occurred possibly over labor day weekend. They will not disclose if anyone else was a victim so please contact me if possible if you also had a unit broken into during that time. Because of the items stolen, we assume there were more than one persons, and a vehicle or trailer larger than a pickup used to haul away the items. I know this is just "stuff" but it rips my heart out and I feel violated. Also, corporate has been raising the rates quite often and i now pay over $300 for 2 units. I have the insurance they made me buy but i have read online that its very hard to collect, almost impossible to prove there was a covered loss. adding insult to injury. im very sad to lose these items left behind by my husband for myself and my son. Ive found another facility that has better security and the local sheriffs have a unit and do K9 training on the property so i feel much safer there. read more

Do not rent from this place. My sons storage was broken into not once but twice in the first month he rented. They have signs that read cameras with surveillance. There is only 1 camera for the whole facility. So false advertisement.There storage was in the back where you have to have a code for the door to get into the storage room. Seems more like an inside job. Police were called twice. Luckily he had insurance. There are what seems to be homeless people on bikes that come into the facility. Beware!! Do not leave anything of value unless you don't want it back. So disgusted. read more
