We had our items there for about a year. We just cleaned out our unit and the amount of mouse feces and obvious nests is unbelievable!! Not to mention the insulation from the ceiling falling all over our items. Items from my children's infancy ruined, items from my classroom ruined. I'm beyond livid at this point. I am contacting their insurance company but I want to save anyone else from this. read more

This rating is aimed at the corporation not the local manager. The manager was as helpful as could be but she works for a company that gives her responsibility without sufficient authority. I have used this facility for almost two years. I have always been on auto pay. This past month for some unknown reason their billing system did not accept my payment and I was charged a late payment fee. The resident manager suggested that I turn off auto pay and attempt to make a single payment online. Again, payment was rejected. The resident manager sent a request to corporate to waive the late fee based on the situation. I had never been late before and their system had a problem. I was told that if they waived the late fee I would receive a revised bill. No such luck! As a result of corporate's insistence that I pay the late fee, I am moving my belongings to another storage facility. I would not recommend that anyone use Public Storage. read more

Let me say first and foremost that the employees at this location are super friendly and pleasant people. However I stored my boat here from May of 2013 until just last week (November of 2013). I went to the storage location and found that both the batteries had been stolen from my boat. Public Storage's policy is "store at your own risk" according to the nice lady at the desk. The fence and entry code are worthless if the property is not protected and/or insured by the facility. I might as well have stored my boat at the rest area on I-75. This is $180 hit for me. I will take my business back to a more secure location. read more

I am about to move from NC to KY and had originally booked a couple storage units at this location over the phone while still living in NC. Throughout the course of our discussion in trying to figure out how much square footage I would need, I informed the employee that I would be traveling with a 29 foot ABF freight, and so we determined from that how much space we would need. About a week after our phone call, I showed up the day before my freight was to arrive to get settled up and take care of paperwork, payment, etc. Everything was great, and going according to plan. The following day, I had some issues with our moving company that was unrelated to Public Storage, but through that process came another conversation with this location in which we were told that the ABF freight wouldn't even fit into this facility in order for us to unload it. As stated earlier, I very clearly informed them of the size and type of vehicle that my belongings were traveling in, and was not informed at that time that we wouldn't even be able to get the vehicle on the property. This obviously made it impossible for me to use this location. Completely inconvenient - yes - but oh well, we'll just have to find another location to make it work. After calling around & running around NKY for a couple hours, we found a new storage facility and got set up. I then returned to Public Storage, attempting to cancel my transaction and expecting a refund. Nope! They told me I can clear all my stuff out of the storage and that I would only be charged first months rent for both units (plus insurance, taxes, all the other ways they make more money off of you... which by the way was $222.36 for one unit and $262.66 for the other - totaling $485.02.) I told them that I never stepped foot inside the storage unit and that I had zero possessions in there. I insisted on a refund, seeing that I obviously would have never booked this location if I had known the ABF freight wouldn't fit and that it would literally be impossible for me to store stuff there. Public Storage was made aware of the type of vehicle I was going to bring in, but failed to inform me that it wouldn't fit until after I paid. This is completely unacceptable and I cannot for the life of me understand how the employee working that day couldn't see how absurd it was that they expected me to pay for this unit. $485.02. For nothing. I didn't willingly choose to not use the storage space, I had zero choice. They were made aware of the size of the freight and failed to inform me that it wouldn't fit. I ha been there for only 24 hours. I put nothing in the storage units. $485.02. So, the employee gives me a card and tells me the only person that I could talk to is Rik Vayo who is the district manager. This all took place on February 7th. I immediately walked out of the office to my car, called Rik Vayo, and left him a voicemail early afternoon. His recorded message says he checks his voicemail twice a day and if I miss him not to worry, he'll call back quickly. I wait around in my car for about 30 minutes thinking maybe I'll get a prompt call back and we could get this settled while I was still there. But he never called that Friday. Or the entire next week. I called once again on Monday, February 17th and left another voicemail for Rik Vayo who checks his voicemail twice a day. No call back. I just left my third message with Rik Vayo who checks his voicemail twice a day today - Thursday, February 20th. All that to say, this place is ridiculous. If you have any issues with a Public Storage in Rik Vayo's district, you can count on getting no back up help from anyone above the management of the local store. If anyone has any tips or advice on how to get my money back I would greatly appreciate it as neither the local store nor the district manager has been of any help. read more

Very quick and painless. They always have good deals. Mary is super nice and awesome. Property seems secure and it's in a good area - I don't feel nervous at all. Rented Storage unit for over 2 years. Rent goes up seems every month after a year in steady small amounts $5.00 to $10.00 every month. Had only one break in during the time that i was renting there. Service at the location is great for anything that you need. There unit insurance is not the best would recommend that you get your own. read more

This storage facility is a great place. We were moving for the first time and needed an affordable place to store our furniture/boxes until our new house was ready. We got a promotional price of $20 for the first month. The customer service we received from the office were nothing but helpful. Especially a gentleman named William. He was very helpful & understanding in our situation. Will definitely recommend this location to anyone! read more
