I usually don't leave reviews but for what I just experienced and the time this staff member took out of her schedule to make sure that I was able to get inside my storage that I just purchased less than 24 hours ago and I know the average would not have done but My movers accidentally left the key hanging out of the lock rushing and Aja who was working at two different locations found the key and called me right before closing. She waited at the other location patiently until I arrived to get my key and I'm soooooo Thankful that she did because I didn't have money for a new lock or locksmith. I went to check into my unit at 1001 N North Tryon and was greeted with a broken gate allowing people access to facility. The unit was filled with homeless individuals and prostitution. After trying to get help to transfer to a safer unit I was told to go find another another location and pay for re booking. My original prices were not honored and I didn't get refunded the fees on booking the unit. read more

I rented this unit in June 2016 at 88.00 a month, it has went up 20.00 every year since then. In the end, the payment was 166.00. It's ridiculous to go up that much every year, the storage unit I am renting now is 70.00 and the owner says he will not go up on that charge and he's never went up in the 5 years he's built it. It's more clean, there is no signs of infestations of bugs or mice like at public storage. Shame on you guys for milking people of their money especially in the past 2 years. read more

As a service member we do not have full control of our schedules and after renting a unit for only a few days Public Storage kept our $110 rent citing "company policy" They also do not offer service members any discounts. They also promised a $1 first month rent if we vacated for a month or more, when we did they refused to offer the promotion. We've called the location manager and have not as yet had the courtesy of a reply, Our advice, while you're serving find a more patriotic business to store your belongings. read more

Been paying close to 100 for a year for a 8x10 and that great deal I got in the beginning didn't last long at all. They hook you with good deals and then those numbers go up. Beware! Oh and since this pandemic and mot making as much, a simple request to waive 2 late fees after being a customer for over a year and never asking for any help, is ignored. They do not care...... good thing I just scheduled my move out date and since I haven't seen my things since last June they had better be as I left them...... read more

I've never used storage before until I got with public storage. Best experience ever, no hassle when I first got there and needed a bigger unit was switch easy and on the spot. Payments were easy and so was access to my stuff. I have definitely told a few others who need to get one here. read more

They never honor their "promotions" they get their money back one way or another. Always look at your statements because they WILL add fees and they also increase rent once your things are stored. read more

I was unfortunate to have ever needed the use of this facility, they are the most inconsiderate, rude just down right unprofessional people starting with Hanna the so called manager on down the line. I leased this for 8 years and in that time rent went up and quality went down. They have broken into my space several times, 8 locks cut, and then RATS! they provided 3 bags of rat poison the whole time I was there. I finally moved out of that dust and rat infested dump. OMG! What Jerks! Don't ever use this place. read more

I would first like to say, as someone in the customer service industry and dealing with all kinds of people on a daily basis - both happy and irate- it takes a lot stay personable, keep a great attitude and make an impression that speaks volumes not only of your company but of you as an employee/individual. I think it goes without saying, because of my 5 star rating, I had the best experience a person could hope for while I was here. While I can understand that not everyone has the same experience, I want to tell you about mine in hopes that you will decide for yourself if you wish to patronize this particular Public Storage location. I am a Property Manager of a luxury mid-rise here in Uptown, Charlotte. Both my industry and this industry and closely paralleled. I found that I had to move from my current apartment and was given 1 week to find a place to store my belongings while I waited on my new place to be ready. I called the Corporate reservation and spoke with a nice gentleman who gave me a temporary reservation at this location and instructed me to visit the property in order to see my unit and pick up keys. Upon my arrival at Public Storage I was helped by William. It was the end of the day - I couldn't get off any sooner- and I walked in to a packed office. I was greeted the moment I walked in (something I drill into my staff in my industry) and was told that I would be helped as soon as they could. I think it's amazing that they were close to the cut-off for tours on the golf cart, and I didn't get a heavy sigh or catch an attitude for my tardiness. I was eventually set up with William. I told William that I had a reservation from corporate and that I was here to see it. I gave him the information and paperwork and we hopped right on the golf cart to go see the unit. We got there only to find out he had forgotten the key in the office- something I easily laughed off, as we are all human- and after revisiting the office we finally got the unit and opened it up. I'll be honest, it wasn't as large as I thought it was going to be, but fit my stuff just fine regardless. The unit was clear minus a few leaves etc. I told him it was perfect and I was ready to pay and get to moving. We went back to a now quiet office where I got the opportunity to speak with Tierria (HILARIOUS) who I later found out was the manager. As William prepared my paperwork I had some time to sit around a joke with the two. I told them what I did and how the rental insurance and their sales tactics were exactly like what I did on a daily basis. We finished up through laughter and stories and I was thanked for my business and given a card to go online and tell everyone about my experience. I am here to tell you I know the power of a review and what that can do to either help or hinder your business and I hope this not only helps them, but helps others who need to find a temporary home for their belongings. The entire staff at Public Storage, not just William and Tierria, as I have been helped by others since then in my random outings, have all been AMAZING, SPECTACULAR, PROFESSIONAL and TOP-NOTCH. I wanted to speak on Tierria and William specifically as they have been the ones helping me all along. In fact, every time I go in to make a payment or ask a silly question, I am not only greeted the moment I walk in the door but I am greeted, BY NAME! Are you kidding me?! The amount of people these people meet, see, and speak with and they remember me and make sure to make me feel welcome the second I walk in the door. Now THAT is customer service and I don't care who you are. Bottom Line. End of Story. Public Storage knew what they were doing when they hired the team at the Wilkinson Blvd. location and they knew what they were doing to put Tierria in a management position. Everything you would expect from a storage place; easy-in, easy-out. Jennifer the manager is extremely nice and provides great customer service, she even advised me when to move out in order to save me from paying an extra month's payment and assisted me with closing my unit even though I was unable to make it to the property that day. read more
