A great facility in Breckenridge, Colorado!…read more Two sheets of ice (one indoor, one "outdoor"). The outdoor rink has a roof and is exposed on one side, but with the green tarps in place - the weather element was negligible (at least in October). Seating for the indoor rink is great. The outdoor rink only has a few metal bleachers, but you can walk around the rink to spectate from the side of the player benches. Be prepared for some mud and wind though (it rained the weekend I watched games). Their is a snack bar inside that carried plenty of junk food options and one of the local saloons setup a burger and brat stand in front of the main entrance (smelled great, but I did not try anything). Quite a bit of parking, but I expect it is harder to find a spot during ski season.

What a fine place to bring the family on the last day of our visiti in Breckenridge. This place may…read morealso be known as the Breckenridge Ice Rink, a Breckenridge Recreation Department facility located just east of the breckenridge ski resort area. I was towed along with the grandkids, Uncles and Aunts to an "outdoor skating rink". I was looking to find the cute little skating rink envisioned in those quaint ski resort villages of movie yesteryear. Instead, I thought we were walking into the local hockey training facility when I was pointed in the back for the outdoor (coooooold) recreational area filled with kids, parents, and a couple of uncles dancing to a "Blades of Glory" skating scene. Sheesh, can't take these guys anywhere. The skating round and round quickly found that 10K feet is hard to skate like at sea level. A lot of gasping for air was going on. Also, the uncles and aunts commandeered the learning blocks from all of the young kids, and that mostly led to our dismissal and pointing us to the door. Staff were cool. They need a bar. Dicks

Love this place, been coming here over the year to play hockey in the legue for many years, The…read morerink host a very good small legue of men's hockey and women's hockey that is very comptetive. I have to say the ice is some of the best around, maybe because the people working their do a better job of using the zamboni or may the cooling system is better, not sure but this place is great for hockey. Outside the ice rink is the Eagle town pool and is ine very busy place in the summer. Great place to go and cool off. Around the ice rink I think is some of the best mountain biking in the state. Trails leading to miles and miles of riding in all directions. One of the trails called the Haymaker is where the State High School championships have been help for the last couple of years, The trailhead starts right from the parking lot of the ice rink. Mountain bikers can also hit the bmx track next door that is open all of the time to the public. Next to the bmx track their is a pump track that is also very cool and fun to warm up on before leaving to go on a mountain bike ride. I also have to say that the staff who run and take of the ice rink and the and the park around are some of the nices people you might want to ever meet. It's nice you meet people how care about their job and do such a great job. Maybe something that is harder too find nowadays.

I really appreciate how the rink is set up. The center is clearly marked off, which helps keep people practicing doing middle work from drifting into the main traffic flow. It makes the whole floor feel more organized and safer for everyone. The rink itself feels like it's on the larger side, so there's plenty of room to skate without feeling cramped. Adult nights are especially fun. They lean more into electro and dance music, which keeps the energy up. Pricing is reasonable, and I love seeing how they give back to the community. The last time I was there, they were collecting food donations for a local pantry, which says a lot about the kind of business they are. There's also a back room with video games and a smaller practice space that's separate from the main floor, which is a huge plus if you want to work on something. Around the rink, there's plenty of seating for breaks, with storage cubbies underneath, which is super convenient. Overall, it's a really solid rink with a great atmosphere and a strong sense of community. Definitely worth checking out, especially for adult night.
