I have a honda pilot and it did okay but i will definitely not be driving it again. It was really rough on the car. Lots of ruts, wash outs and rocks sticking out. Road is narrow would not be a fan of seeing what happens if vehicles are wanting to go both up and down at same time. There is no parking along the 3 mile road stretch. There are signs along the road on trees. Please obey the signage! At 6 am, we did find parking near the trailhead. There is a bathroom at the trailhead. There is no trash. So please plan on packing out what you take with you. Dogs are allowed but if you are going to bring them please make sure they are on a leash or under GREAT voice command. Was watching some wildlife and somebody and their dog came chased them off. It was really quite sad. The elusive white tailed ptarmigan, they had very little regard for the wildlife. have seen this happen on other trails with the mountain goats as well. so please only bring your dog if you are going to control the dog. The trail is well marked and easy to follow. The wildflowers are absolutely amazing right now! wow a sea of yellows, red, purple, pink. It was so pretty!!! It is also very green right now. You feel like you are surrounded by a sea of giant towering mountains. The incline up to gray was definitely mentally challenging. We got to the top and it was pretty cold and windy. Could not find the geological markers for either of the peaks. Neither could anyone else. Not sure where they disappeared to. Going from Grays to Torreys. The rocks were slick. This was an area i wish i had hiking poles for. From here, the hike up to torreys was shorter but steep. It was quite lovely though. I think i loved the view from Torreys best if i had to pick. Gray clouds were rolling in at 11 am. We were on our way down but lots of people were just on their way up. Be sure you be aware of the weather conditions if you are going to do this peak. Thunderstorms on the peak are definitely not a joke.

Let's break it down. 1. At 7.4 miles and 2,000+ feet of elevation gain, it's bound to get your heart pumping without being too strenuous. I completed the out-and-back trail in just under 3.5 hours. 2. Parts of the trail along Smelter Gulch follows a creek, and until the last mile or so towards the lake it is shaded as well. Makes for a chilly morning for early risers like me, but a great way to beat the afternoon sun for those that like a later start! 3. Wildlife? Check! While I missed out, the group ahead of me saw a moose cow and calf on the trail. There were plenty of pica and marmots too! 4. Wildflowers? Check! While I did this hike towards the "end" of wildflower season, there were still more than enough wildflowers to ooh and awe over. 5. There is ample first come, first served camping along the road, so why not make a weekend of it? Some sites on the South-West side of the road were much more exposed, but they can all host a large group! Shelf Lake was a wonderful way to get some fresh air during the week! **Pro Tip: The road to the trail head is pretty bumpy. You need a vehicle with a bit more than average ground clearance to ensure you aren't zigzagging all over trying to find the flattest route.

The trail is around 9.5 miles long and 2703 feet of elevation gain. It is an out and back trail. It does continue on supposedly to mount logan i believe but from what i read on all trails it does involve some bushwhacking??? We did around 9.3 miles and turned around due to inclement weather coming in. There were some amazing fall colors as you got further in. Beautiful yellows and oranges! There was a beaver dam blocking up some of the water and it was causing one area to be really muddy.... so be prepared for that. Also some of teh crossings after that were a little tricky. the water crossings earlier on had nice logs to cross. Loved this trail and will definitely be back in the future!

A great facility in Breckenridge, Colorado!…read more Two sheets of ice (one indoor, one "outdoor"). The outdoor rink has a roof and is exposed on one side, but with the green tarps in place - the weather element was negligible (at least in October). Seating for the indoor rink is great. The outdoor rink only has a few metal bleachers, but you can walk around the rink to spectate from the side of the player benches. Be prepared for some mud and wind though (it rained the weekend I watched games). Their is a snack bar inside that carried plenty of junk food options and one of the local saloons setup a burger and brat stand in front of the main entrance (smelled great, but I did not try anything). Quite a bit of parking, but I expect it is harder to find a spot during ski season.

I was towed along with the grandkids, Uncles and Aunts to an "outdoor skating rink". I was looking to find the cute little skating rink envisioned in those quaint ski resort villages of movie yesteryear. Instead, I thought we were walking into the local hockey training facility when I was pointed in the back for the outdoor (coooooold) recreational area filled with kids, parents, and a couple of uncles dancing to a "Blades of Glory" skating scene. Sheesh, can't take these guys anywhere. The skating round and round quickly found that 10K feet is hard to skate like at sea level. A lot of gasping for air was going on. Also, the uncles and aunts commandeered the learning blocks from all of the young kids, and that mostly led to our dismissal and pointing us to the door. Staff were cool. They need a bar. Dicks

Pretty on it's on right, but it is hard to say no to the Rockies. Path isn't in the best shape, but at least I did not notice any cracks. It has been patched but has warped. I did not bring a bike lock otherwise I would have walked the nature trail along the shore, closed off to bikes. It is a few blocks away from the arena and is a pseudo continuation from the Dam Recreation Trail.

Along the hiking trails, abandoned mining equipments and rails can be seem. A restored broading house used by the miners near the summit can be seem. A guided tour of the broading house can be arranged. The trail itself requires lots of uphill hiking. Lots of trees and many good views along the trail. Parking is very limited, maybe fours vehicles the most.
