(See my photos.) It is such a beautiful, soothing, relaxing area, with trails, and running brooks, and streams. Great place to meditate. Locals also walk their dogs and hike/run through this area daily. It just takes an hour to explore and is a break from the business district a few blocks away. We parked in front of the stores in the business area and walked it over. Make sure to put enough money in the meter--Aspen is agressive on issuing parking tickets. The ice waterfall you climb is about a 20 minute hike into a park. You do need to carry some gear and the fresh snow made the élan a little tough, but the terrain was flat. Our guide then secured the belay line and showed us how to ice climb. My wife and I have no experience and low to moderate athletic abilities (we are not rock climbers). Swinging that ice tool into the ice and starting your climb is a rush, but pace yourself. It is a difficult climb to the top. Highly recommend the experience. Average athletic ability recommended.

That would've put us at the golf course at 3 o'clock when we called to explain we were gonna be late. They said they were not hold the golf cart for 15 minutes explained that the course was wide open according to the reservations, we are experience, golfers, and seriously doubt if we take two hours to play that nine holes of golf also offered that I would give them my phone number and we would end around short if needed. We are recently in a very serious car accident and I'm unable to walk the course. My wife even has a handicap placard to show that she's unable to walk that far. I am very disappointed in the lack of consideration, considering the long drive that we were prepared to do and the fact that the reason we were gonna be 15 minutes late was because of a road closure for over an hour. Is this really how you treat your customers I will make sure that everyone I know, including every golf course, golf store, instructor, a travel person I know is aware of how you care about your customers. Fantastic experience bowling in the quaint area of Snowmass Village, CO. You wouldn't know this…read morebowling alley was even there - it's downstairs of some retail shops. But inside, there's a full bar and they make fantastic wood-fired pizzas. And you rent a bowling lane by the hour - whether there's one person bowling or six. We went there with a family that was visiting us - that included two small children. The kids had a blast and the adults appreciated the clean, friendly environment - while enjoying good food and drinks. Service was friendly and prompt. And the prices were very competitive - especially when you consider the Snowmass / Aspen area. And they make a mean martini! We'll be back!

There were four of us and price was $50 for one hour of bowling and $4 per shoe rental. We were placed on lane 4 and began our game. After a few minutes the lane started malfunctioning. When pins were re-racked a few would fall down. Or the machine that re-racked the pins would freeze. We had to hit the restart button over and over, taking up a lot of our hour. I brought this up to the owner (or possibly manager- he was the one in charge for that night) and he said he wanted to watch this happen. He and an employee stood behind our lane for 10 minutes just watching us play. Very annoying- and of course there were no issues during those 10 minutes. They did nothing and he went back to sitting at the bar drinking. Once it happened again I went over to him and had him come look at the lane. He told me "we get a lot of people who make stuff up" implying I was lying. He and an employee ran to the back of the lane once they saw it was frozen and told us it was fine now. We started to bowl and again we had issues. We had 2 minutes left out of our hour and at that time they said we could switch lanes. Obviously not worth it with 2 minutes left. The owner/manager ended up leaving the alley (after doing nothing to help us, he just sat at the bar and drank the whole time). At that time an employee added 30 more minutes to our game and comped the whole thing. Thank you to him!! And The waitresses were very friendly at least. This place would be great with different management- maybe the employee who worked the counter and helped us should be in charge. Will not be back the next time we make it to Snowmass.
