Service by Jackie was excellent. Ambiance was excellent. My burger looked delicious but had no taste whatsoever. Fries were excellent. If I were to return, I would need to try something else.

The 2 stars were earned entirely by the food which was quite good. The service was painfully slow. We were seated and didn't see our waitress for almost 15 minutes. The restaurant was not full or close to it so we weren't sure what was taking so long. Our drinks and food both took a very long time as well. When the beers were finally served they were in cans and we had to ask for glasses for them which was difficult as our waitress was no where to be found. The back of the restaurant away from the bar is incredibly loud. We were hopeful this would be a nice dinner spot in town, and while the food was good, the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired.

I've been here before but had a recent experience that was 100% positive We were able to have dinner on the beautiful patio. I tried something very different for me- a shaved Brussel sprout salad. It had other yummy things like cheese, pears and nuts. I added steak tips which were done perfectly. The dressing was just the right amount. I had enough for another meal. My husband enjoyed his fish and chips very much Service was excellent

Food was surprisingly delicious but noise level too loud and annoying. Low tin tiles Echoed . Large groups, families with small children all added to the cacophony. Take out or outdoor patio.next time. Hard to find parking on street. Most Lots said 8-5p, no parking at a few banks so parallel pk on street.

    Haddock sandwich

Lunch at this amazing restaurant was perfect. We were happily greeted by the staff and enjoyed a really delicious lunch. We both chose the haddock fish sandwich and were surprised to see how huge a portion we received. Fish was perfectly cooked and the home made French Fries were over the top. Could not have asked for a better meal. Will be back for certain.

    fun dessert!

We were delighted to have lunch here yesterday, Monday the 16th, as we have been to the Wakefield location multiple times over the last five years. The Reading location has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The silver tin ceilings nicely reflect the amber lighting making it cozy and romantic. There is a large bar with ample seating and high tops to complete the lounge area; in the back is regular seating, and at this location, they can seat larger parties. There is even a glass fireplace to keep it cozy! When the weather warms up, there is a large patio area that is going to be so much fun! Another great thing about this location is there is a parking lot; it is not huge but is nice compared to the wakefield location, which is street parking only. Food: We started with the grilled sourdough bread that had whipped ricotta with black garlic, mango puree, and prosciutto. When reading the menu, I was super intrigued about this combination and wondered will it work. Boy, does it! The salty, sweet, rich umami flavors are layered and make the mouth sing! It's 7 AM, and I am craving this bread right now! We also got the buffalo cauliflower, this was a large serving, and the heat was just right on the cauliflower. Entrees: I got the fish tacos which were cooked perfectly, crispy outside, and tender fish in. They do grill the tortillas; they are so tasty! A friend got the nachos and loved them; huge serving! Hubs got the steak tips, and they were grilled to perfection and so tender and flavorful. Our other friend got the meatloaf which he loved, and asked for a side of mac and cheese, part way thru he decided the meatloaf belonged with the mac and cheese and finished his mashed potatoes before delving into that combo, which he said was really good! The drinks were great, it is a full bar, so they can make you your regular orders, but they have a pretty creative cocktail menu, too, I tried the 5 3 0, and it was really well balanced. Great bourbon and whiskey lineup as well. Since we were celebrating the hubs pre bday, we got the churros and to our surprise, we were given a beautiful plating of the churros and their caramel lava cake, which, omg, soooo good! Service: From the management all the way to the food runner, service is top-notch here, and you can tell that they care if customers are having a good time! Michelle was our server and was so gracious while we were waiting for our friends to arrive. She chatted with us a bit about the Wakefield location and how it was going here. Prices are fair for what you get. As you can see, the serving sizes are large!

Short rib grilled cheese sandwich was so good. Fries are tremendous too!

The quality of service, food, drinks, atmosphere were all very good. Turnover here is also very good, as there was no wait for an almost-full restaurant at 7pm on a Friday evening. Drinks were flavorful, but strength seemed a bit inconsistent. My Patriot's Pour, a bourbon drink, seemed a wee bit stronger both in flavor and perceived alcohol than the martinis we were served. The ice cube with the restaurant's name in it was a nice touch. Our dinners all came out at the same time and were, as mentioned, enjoyable. I did notice that the counter in front of the kitchen, where dishes are placed waiting for pickup, seemed to have more plates on it than the could be under the heat lamps. Hopefully folks' dinners weren't inconsistent in temperature. My Thai salmon was done the way I like it, firm and crispy. Parking outside is ample as well, there were several spaces free near the entrance at any time. They do a good job all-around here.

The salad arrived split on two separate plates which was a nice touch, and the sweet mustardy dressing balanced the bitterness of the kale and brussels - only comment is it was bit overdressed. The mushroom ravioli was tasty and had a good filling to wrapper ratio with a solid amount of cream sauce. The pulled pork mac was on the sweeter side and also had a lot of sauces - the bechamel, sweet bbq sauce and ranch. It was a touch too many sauces for us. Portions were a good size, a bit larger than expected. Service was attentive and fast, and the space is clean and comfortable, but could use a bit of an update, the upholstery on our booth was noticeably worn down. Overall a good meal, just note dishes tend to be heavier on sauces / dressings - we'll request to go lite on sauces next time.

Stopped in for one last lunch before bidding the Boston area adieu. My sister lives in Stoneham and…read moresuggested this spot, thinking it would have something for everyone in our crew. The menu? Vast. Like, "do-I-need-a-compass-to-navigate-this" vast, with plenty of options. It's always amusing to me how different parts of the U.S. have their own regional food quirks (like here in MA, where steak tips, roast beef sandwiches, and open-faced turkey sammies reign supreme). I was stuck between a couple of local specialties, but our delightful waitress, Haley, steered me in the direction of the Thanksgiving turkey sandwich, mentioning they roast a turkey every day (cue angels singing). I swapped out the fries for onion rings, because, duh! This sandwich? It could have fed a small village. It was a beast. A delicious beast, but an unwieldy one. I ended up abandoning the bread for the good stuff and tackled it with a knife and fork. All in all? Absolutely scrumptious. Bonus points for the bathrooms, which were clean as a whistle, and fear not! If you're afraid of missing the a Celtics 3 pointer or a Red Sox baseball toppling over the "green monstah" while nature calls, there's a giant screen perfectly viewable from the toilet. Yes, you can literally watch the game while you pee. Talk about a win-win situation!

Exactly what we were looking for. Great bar, great service, and the food was top notch.read more

It feels like a sports bar but the bar area is small and instead has a brick oven for pizza. The food was great - pizza was cooked well and tasted good. The salad had a little too much dressing, but that was minor. The garlic knots were really good - clearly made on site and loads of garlic which we love. I have young kids so they went for the Nutella pizza for dessert. I wasn't sure how it would come out, but it was really good! The strawberries gave it a lighter sweetness and balanced the Nutella. The meal itself was great. The facility itself could use some attention. The bathrooms were a bit dingy and the stall doors had holes in them - covered by cardboard for privacy but replacing or fixing the door would be the better option.

Convenient, but the area can get backed up with wonky individuals when it comes to driving. The review is about pizza though- the main attraction of Anthony's. We usually sit at the bar and there is an outdoor covered-seating option as an extension of the bar which is pretty nice. Indoors doesn't stand out a lot as far as mood goes- it is standard fare but slightly above that I'd say. Honestly I find it a little on the darker side for my liking. The staff are usually nice though sometimes we get a few screwballs. Typically there's regulars we get at the bar and they are good people- particularly Joey. They should give that guy a raise I'm pretty sure he is a manager. The food- which has mainly been the pizza we have had, is amazing. It's fresh and oven fired in house and the taste reflects that. You can customize your pizza as much as you like and staff are happy to oblige. We usually do a custom garlic, chicken and white pizza- which I highly recommend. They have lunch deals too if you're in around that time and frequently send emails for pizza deals during the week which is a nice plus. Overall you should definitely go if you haven't yet- it beats the average house of pizza by a long shot.
