I've seen this restaurant on tv dining shows and was going by so stopped in to give it a try. It left a lot to be desired. There are indeed 97 choices of burger combinations, however some are just varied by 1 ingredient (a ranch sauce instead of a terriaki for instance) and others are actually chicken not burgers. I made the mistake of ordering the special appetizer of fried green beans which was about a half cup of frozen product. Flavorless and bad. And $10 is a lot for a very small amount straight out of a freezer bag. The burger was average in flavor. They did get my "medium" right so kudos there- but overcooked my husband's by far. The fries were very hot which is important to me but again, a frozen product and flavorless. The server was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance? No. Not kitschy enough to be a dive bar- just ugly. Basic food, was just ok. Not the place I am rushing back to for a really great burger. read more

We have been customers of pub 97 for several years not anymore after our experience tonight. We ordered food only to have the kids dinners brought out and then waiting for over a half hour before asking the owner where my husband's and my dinner was. She was not apologetic even defending the waitress who never came over to see how things were or to refill our drinks. After waiting another 15 minutes after complaining the owner brought our dinners out and then said to us "we are having a bad night it happens, what do you want me to say sorry. I'm sorry what else do you want me to do. I'll comp the kids grilled cheese." Then she walked away. The waitress came over and brought the check. When she came back with the receipt to sign, I told her I couldn't even eat the burger because it was so well done and that was not how I ordered it. Her response was oh thank you. We go out to eat a lot and this is the last time I will eat at pub 97. The owner acted like we were inconveniencing her and her staff. This pub was always a favorite of my grandfather and my uncle. I haven't been here in over ten years so a friend and I decided to pop in for a bite and to play some Keno. The hostess brought us drinks and we waited between 10 and 15 minutes for someone to take our order. When I asked the hostess if she was our waitress she rudely said, "NO!" as she continued to walk by. I was extremely shocked that she didn't reply, "No but I will find your server for you." At that point I wanted to leave but I had another 7 games of keno coming so I decided to stick it out. After asking another employee if we had a waitress our waitress appeared and apologized as she didn't know we were in her section and took our order. The portion size was small. I ordered the haddock as I can't eat red meat. (97 burgers on the menu and you can't get a turkey burger) Our waitress forgot my glass of water. The food here is awesome!!! I love the pizza. I saw the phantom gourmet special and decided to check it out. No joke, I drove from Dover NH to see this 97 burger selection.. It, yes, is just what I hoped for! Comfort food heaven! My wife got the east side burger and we also split a Bacon Blue Cheeseburger pizza(a lot of take home). The pizza is a god send for pizza lovers! Lastly, the waitress that served us was very sweet. Thank you mam for the amazing pizza and wonderful service. My husband ordered a bacon burger I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with cheddar and bacon, I asked for mushrooms Waitress tells me the kitchen won't give the mushrooms. She says I will put it on order but they probably won't do it. We get our orders- no mushrooms!!!! Can you believe this, all the restaurants we have been to! The burgers are dry...but not as dry as the little snooty girl behind the bar. Last time I was there I asked to speak with a manager because the food took over an hour and came out cold. Having been here at least a half a dozen times, I stopped at Pub 97 for a quick bite and cocktail. I sat at the bar which is always full of local dudes who stop in for a beer or two after work. Great waitstaff who are typically friendly and attentive. Mixed drinks are made in a pint glass with a free pour. There is Keno which when you're alone can keep you busy and who knows, maybe a kiss from Lady Luck. The menu offers 97 different types of burgers, you name it and it is most likely on the menu. You can't ask for substitutions or custom burgers but hey, with 97 different types, find one you like. And the burgers are good. I ordered grilled chicken with rice pilaf and mixed veggies. Everything was hot, fresh and bountiful. My only disappointment was there was one average sized chicken breast. The inside is a typical wooden bar with wooden booths, wood ceilings and wood walls. If you're in the mood for a burger, it's worth the stop off of Rt 95 which is under a 15 minute drive. read more

Been here a few times and go mainly because choices in Georgetown are very limited. Burgers are decent as long as the buns are fresh, but forget about the service. I'm not a technical "regular" so you always get looks from the staff when you walk in. Was there the other day and the teenage bartenders couldn't care less about me, her and the manager (assume she's the manager) were more interested in talking to the two 20 year old guys that had the worst pot smell coming from them and talking about how trashed they got with the bartender the night before Then getting me a refill. We ordered take-out burgers, potato skins and a pizza and were happy. Burgers were seasoned to perfection and really flavorful. Pizza wasn't anything special but our young son enjoyed it. We were a bit dissapointed by the potato skins - not much cheese or bacon and instead of a side of sour cream to dip them in there was just a small drizzle on top of each skin. The prices they charge don't even match the menu!!!!! Gd forbid you request something be left off your plate, worse if you want to add anything. They will laugh at you. I really wanted to love this place. My husband and I went this past weekend. the Inside it a little outdated - but I can deal with that. Our Waitress was more interested in texting on her phone than tending to us (And we were one or only 2 couples seated in the dining area). We ordered Potato skins for an appaziver - they were like Pre frozen Potato Wedges half cooked with some cheese and bacon thrown on - and some crudly squirted sour cream (Like is came out of a can - like spray cheese) sprayed on top. We asked for another minute with the menu when trying to decide on one of the 97 burgers - and our waitress left for a good 15 minutes. Finally got our order in - and another waitress dropped it off for us. by now we were both out of a drink - and out waitress was off ina corner texting. The burgers were ok.... I have had bertter -and worse... We Finally got her attention for drinks - then sat there for another 10 minutes when we were done eating waiting for a check. The only saving grace - being so pre occupied with her texting she forgot to charge us for the nasty potato skins which was just fine with me. I MAY go back there for a burger - to try one of the other kinds... and see if MAYBE our waitress this time is a little more attentive... but I am in NO big hurry for sure! read more

I personally frequent the Pub9 7 two times a week with no problem and look forward to being there. If 97 choices is not enough for your decriminating pallet maybe you should snuggle up with a TV dinner at home or do laps around a drive thru. RUDE!!! I'm only giving 1 star due to the rudness of the staff. They will NOT let you make substitutions to anything on the menu, such as adding jalepenos to a sandwich. A group of us went once and I wasn't very hungry and asked for a grilled cheese. The cook wouldn't let me have one because they are only for kids. I ended up eating half of a friend's sandwich and they lost out on a sale. I even offered to pay for a regular price sandwich!! I believe this is the cooks problem, not the waitstaff's. If they found a new cook, I'm sure everything would improve drastically! Too bad the owners don't realize this. When they first opened, they ,made homemade potatoe chips (they were fantastic) that they served while you looked over the menu- not anymore. Since then, my husband and I have gone back a few times, only to be more disappointed than the last. I wasn't impressed at all. They do have a large selection but my burger came with coleslaw on it and there was barely any on it. They were very skimpy on toppings. My boyfriends burger was all wrong and when we sent it back we got attitude. Then it came out wrong again they forgot the bacon so they gave us 2 pieces on a seperate plate that looked like they were microwaved. My daughter got pasta which you could tell was reheated. It was hard and gross. We definatly wont be back we had high hopes reading the reviews and were very disappointed read more
