Chicken pot pie that'll make you say mamma mia, brah…read more Ay, dude. Cruisin' through Andover, I roll up to The Autograph American Tavern lookin' for some comfort food, and they hit me with a chicken pot pie that was straight-up gasoline. Capisce? This thing comes out in a cast iron skillet, sizzlin' hot, with a giant puff pastry dome on top, golden and flaky like a perfect peeling wave. Sprinkle of flaky sea salt, little fresh parsley on top. Bellissimo. You crack through that crust and the creamy filling underneath is bubblin' up around the edges, rich and hearty, just beggin' you to dive in. I was fully barreled, brah. On a cold New England day, this is the kinda dish that warms you up from the inside out. Tastes like somebody's nonna made it with love, but with that upscale tavern touch. The whole vibe of the place is classy too, without bein' stuffy. So listen to me. You find yourself in Andover, you go to The Autograph and you get the chicken pot pie. Don't make me tell you twice. Fuhgeddaboudit, this one's a keeper. -- Captain 619

Similar to the Derry location, the food offerings here include mainly Italian dishes, pasta, risotto, seafood, chicken, veal, pork, steaks, salads, appetizers, wings, and desserts. The bar offers cocktails, wine and 10 rotating draft beers on tap. The prices here are moderate high. They will be offering lunch at this location soon. The layout is spread out with rows of booths and tables on the left side and the full service bar with high seating and high top table seating in the middle right section. There is also an outdoor patio with several umbrella covered tables with a good view of the Basiliere Bridge over the Merrimack River. I arrived here on a warm hazy evening and the place was moderately busy with the inside bar fully occupied. I decided to be seated outside on the patio. After I was seated at a table in the patio area I was given a menu and specials sheet. The server arrived promptly to take my drink order as I went over the menu. I've enjoyed the Italian Trio in Derry which was a good sampling of Italian favorites. I decided to order a starter and entree. For a starter, the Arancini Balls (2 for $14 plus tax) were good size rice balls filled with bolognese and served over a hearty marinara sauce. The rice texture was firm and hot, but the center bolognese ground meat was only warm inside. For an entree, the Mussels & Calamari Fra Diavolo ($28 plus tax) had 12 steamed mussels, calamari rings & tentacles, spicy diavolo sauce served over al dente linguine. I also asked for bread and oil for my entree, which was brought out 3 minutes later. I was given warm crusty Italian bread with olive oil and seasonings for dipping. I also requested a container for some of the pasta I didn't finish. I passed on the dessert offer since I've been eating cupcakes all day. The check was $44.94 with tax and before tip. Overall, the food I ordered had solid good flavors and I really enjoyed my spicy seafood pasta dish, which I haven't ordered in a while from any Italian restaurant. The service was paced with food runners serving my food and staff checking up on things and bringing out bread with my dinner. I will stop at this location for the outside dining atmosphere despite the background music of 80s rock being slightly loud. Otherwise, the Derry location is closer to my home.

The bar offers 12 beers on draft, beer bottles/cans, wine, cocktails & mixed drinks. I stopped by Fonzi's for dinner very recently. I sat up at the bar for prompt service. I got an ice water as I looked over the menu. For an appetizer, the Fried Raviolis ($12 plus tax) had 6 good size fried breaded raviolis filled with cheese including ricotta & seasoning) over a zesty marinara sauce. For dinner, the Basic Bit*h Burger ($18 plus tax) had a thick grilled beef patty with melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, & pickle chips on a thick kaiser bun. The fries were lightly fried and very hot. Both the fried raviolis and thick juicy burger were very good and fries were decent. After I was done, I got the check with Upserve QR code, which was $32.10 with tax and before tip. I was able to pay the check on my phone, as the place was getting busier around 6:30 pm. The service was prompt sitting at the bar and I was able to watch some sports highlights on the TV. I would definitely come back here to try other food on their menu like the coconut shrimp, tacos, and cheese tortellini gratinati with chicken.

Eight years later, we decided to come back and celebrate our 10th anniversary, and wow, has this place changed! It looks completely different! I love the renovations and how cozy everything feels now. However, one thing I do miss about the old Maggie's Farm is how isolated it used to feel. You could practically smell the barn in the air LOL. Back then, it had more of that countryside feel, whereas now there are so many commercial businesses along the road. It's definitely a different atmosphere. Unfortunately, when it came to the food, we were both a little disappointed. We started with the nachos, which we rated a 4/5. The chips were a little too toasted, and the chicken was also on the dry side, making it a bit difficult to chew. My husband ordered the mac and cheese with buffalo chicken and rated it a 3/5. He wasn't a fan of the Ritz cracker topping because he felt it threw off the overall taste of the mac and cheese. I ordered the chicken shawarma bowl and gave it a 2/5. Unfortunately, it just wasn't tasty to me, and I probably wouldn't order it again. Despite the food not meeting our expectations this time around, Maggie's Farm will always hold a special place in our hearts because of the memories we've made here. We're glad we came back for our 10th anniversary, and hopefully, our next visit will be a better experience! We'll give it another try in the future.
