I tore my ATFL (ankle ligaments) and had to have surgery. I was then referred to Power By Motion…read morefor rehab. After the past six months of attending on and off bi-weekly sessions, I am finally starting to be able to walk again! A simple everyday task that I took for granted in my past that now has taken me over a year to be able to do again! I owe this success in large part to my Physical Therapist Jake! Jake created a specific personalized treatment plan just for me. He keeps our sessions fresh and exciting by always pushing me harder, so I continue to get better and reach my goals. He is extremely knowledgeable and explains why we're doing each exercise and how it relates to my walking goals. He also has a background working with athletes and uses that education to skillfully add-in exercises that are known to help speed up recovery. In addition, he teaches me stretches that help reduce inflammation and decrease my chance of being sore later. Jake starts our sessions out with a targeted massage and the moment I tense up or show pain he backs off that spot, works the area around the spot for a few minutes and then goes back to that painful spot, and it usually no longer hurts. After the massage, we start the workout which varies each time. Powered By Motion is fitted with lots of fancy equipment and I've had the pleasure of getting to play with quite a few! Some of these exciting exercise equipment items include resistance bands, vestibular discs, balance board, foam roller, stretch strap, aerobic step, staircase, stability trainer, weight bars, etc. During our sessions Jake allows me to pick the music - which I love! It makes working out easier when there are good tunes on! During the difficult, but necessary exercises Jake is good at distracting me, so I can keep going. But don't ever forget your count or you're starting over lol! The majority of my appointments have been with Jake; however, I have also worked with Grant a few times. Both therapists are friendly, professional, encouraging, and respectful. Grant also provides an in-depth and enjoyable massage that wakes up your muscles and prepares them for the second half of the session - strengthening. Grant fills the session with several exercises that feel beneficial and geared towards my recovery. In addition, since he's not my main physical therapist he also checks Jake's notes and makes sure to follow the plan he set so we stay on track with my rehab schedule. Stefanie and Miranda are always so friendly and welcoming as you arrive. They quickly check me in and often offer a beverage and snack while I wait. In the lobby area, there is also a Keurig with coffee and coffee condiments, tea, bottled water, crackers, fruit snacks, and more. I have also had the privilege of recently meeting the owner, Roland, at a deliciously catered event at Powered By Motion. He was insightful, kind, and thoughtful. It's nice when even the owner seems to be appreciative and considerate about his customer's well-being and hold his employee's in high regard. Rehab can be hard and painful, but Jake makes our sessions fun and not feel so agonizing like I had originally feared they'd be. Since I've been working with Jake, I've noticed that my balance, flexibility, stability, strength, coordination, and posture have all improved! In addition, I've had increased energy, more confidence, higher self-esteem, and a better attitude. I can finally feel the anger, fear, and depression of my handicap melt away as I become more in control of my body and get back to walking again. All in all, I have enjoyed attending Powered By Motion and I am pleased with my progress as I feel I am on the right track to recovery. I would absolutely recommend Powered By Motion for all your physical therapy needs and more specifically Physical Therapists Jake and Grant!

Chris would get six stars if I could give them. That said, the new "intake team" is grotesquely incompetent, loses paperwork, can't identify ICD-10 codes, blames coworkers when simple tasks aren't done, and lies for days about when work that used to take NWRA desk staff five minutes is going to be completed. After giving them my business for years I gave up and am looking to go somewhere else for PT because the clerical staff's incompetence is standing in the way of me getting the therapy my surgeon prescribed. It's a shame the low-level workers are so awful because they have some of the best physical therapists in Salem. Too bad their data entry flunkies do everything in their power to prevent you from getting to work with them.

While working on my shoulder in 2019 (I was laying on my back on the table and he was sitting on a stool on my right)while working on it my hand was in the air between us and my eyes were closed. I felt fabric under my hand suddenly. He had layed the back of my hand on his crotch. I was in shock and I froze. I wish I had the nerve to say something right then but I have extreme anxiety. I tried to yank my hand back but he kept holding on to it like nothing happened. He would also bring up random questions like "What would your stripper name be?" Or say other inappropriate things. I went to the police and filed a report but the police said "we believe he is socially awkward so we won't press charges." You can not be socially awkward like that with clients. It is not okay. I have been too afraid to post my review but this is still tormenting me 2 years later and I don't want it to happen to anyone else.

Kiana Dara On--his…read morewife Review on Birdeye may not show up--policies not cool Four and a half years ago, I woke up one Morning and I was in severe pain, I could barely walk or stand. A couple of days before I had been walking my regular mile a day and thinking about doing two miles. I had been feeling really good. Suddenly, I couldn't do anything. For two months I didn't know what had happened or what I had done to cause this. My excellent chiropractor and excellent acupuncturist, both of whom had been quick to help me before, couldn't make any headway in improving my situation. My wife had been working with Minh Nguyen at Rejuvenation Pain Clinic in Salem Oregon and told him about me. Minh asked her some questions about my health history and immediately zeroed in my extensive oral surgery the year before. He said that this kind of surgery can impact everything in the body. Minh is an Ocupational Therapist with advanced specialized training in Postural Therapy from The Postural Restoration Institute. There he learned, among other things, how to help people like me. We scheduled an appointment and it happened two days after the weekend he attended further training for working with patients like me. Minh has been doing this work and attending these advanced trainings for many years. Minh has a professional association with a dentist in Eugene, Dr. Frank Stroud, who taught at the OHSU dental school for many years. He has attended specialized and advanced dental training that few dentists even know about at the Pankey Institute. Dr. Stroud has been treating patients for many years with the skills and techniques he has learned from the Pankey Institute. He also gets together regularly with other Pankey graduates to share and learn new skills and techniques discovered by them. Minh met me at Dr. Stroud's office and Dr. Stroud was able to quickly confirm that my dental bite was, in fact, off by a small amount, equivalent to 1/64th of an inch. But it was enough to adversely affect my spine and everything connected to it. So, Dr. Stroud worked on improving my bite, the cause of my problem, while Minh started teaching me exercises to retrain and improve the muscles that were leading to my pain and inabilities to walk and stand. Some of my muscles had quit working correctly because my spine and skeleton structures were out of allignment and staying that way because of my bite. Other muscles were trying to take up the load of those muscles, causing me more difficulties I hadn'trealized. I had friends tell me that I just had to improve my posture, but my muscles would not allow me to do this because they were screwed up so much. So Minh's exercises worked in a slow step-by-step process to get my muscles back in working order while Dr. Stroud worked to fix the problems in my mouth that screwed them up in the first place. I did the exercises and other things that both practitioners asked me to do. That was the key and first steps to regaining my abilities to walk and stand. During the years I worked with Minh I learned more than fifty exercises. I usually did 2 or 3 of them a day for two or three weeks. Then Minh would assess my progress and either have me make improvements in the way I was doing the exercises or he would assign me a new set of exercises. He knows so many exercises and how to create or improve in the moment an effective exercise. He is constantly developing and learning new ones. I could almost see the gears working in his mind as he dismissed one exercise and began developing a new one for what my body was telling him at that moment. Some exercises seemed too simple to possibly do any good, but they did. A healthy person could easily do them. Other exercises were so difficult to do and so painful that it would take me many tries to get them right. EventuallyI was lead to other practitioners that would further help me and enhance the improvements I was experiencing. But Minh and his Rejuvenation Pain Clinic started me on the road to my recovery. I'm so grateful to him and his efforts

At that time, I scheduled both an initial and a follow-up appointment. Unfortunately, I became ill a few days prior to my initial appointment. I called well in advance of the 24-hour cancellation window and spoke with Hannah. I asked whether my follow-up appointment could be converted to the initial visit, with the intention of scheduling a new follow-up appointment at a later date. I made it clear that I understood if this request could not be accommodated. During the conversation, Hannah was very rude and made me feel as though my request was an inconvenience. Her tone remained dismissive and annoyed, despite my understanding and flexibility. I work for a local hospital and fully understand the challenges associated with patient cancellations and no-shows. However, I provided appropriate notice and simply inquired about a reasonable adjustment. I felt as though I was being treated as if I were demanding special treatment, which was not the case. Due to this experience, I informed them that I would not be continuing care with their office and would seek services elsewhere.
