Two stars because Chris W is one of the best physical therapists I have ever had and I would…read morerecommend him to anyone recovering from major orthopedic surgery. Chris would get six stars if I could give them. That said, the new "intake team" is grotesquely incompetent, loses paperwork, can't identify ICD-10 codes, blames coworkers when simple tasks aren't done, and lies for days about when work that used to take NWRA desk staff five minutes is going to be completed. After giving them my business for years I gave up and am looking to go somewhere else for PT because the clerical staff's incompetence is standing in the way of me getting the therapy my surgeon prescribed. It's a shame the low-level workers are so awful because they have some of the best physical therapists in Salem. Too bad their data entry flunkies do everything in their power to prevent you from getting to work with them.

Warning to Women: If you are being seen by Chris Woods,…read more make sure you are on guard at all times. Or have someone you trust with you. He was inappropriate with me. While working on my shoulder in 2019 (I was laying on my back on the table and he was sitting on a stool on my right)while working on it my hand was in the air between us and my eyes were closed. I felt fabric under my hand suddenly. He had layed the back of my hand on his crotch. I was in shock and I froze. I wish I had the nerve to say something right then but I have extreme anxiety. I tried to yank my hand back but he kept holding on to it like nothing happened. He would also bring up random questions like "What would your stripper name be?" Or say other inappropriate things. I went to the police and filed a report but the police said "we believe he is socially awkward so we won't press charges." You can not be socially awkward like that with clients. It is not okay. I have been too afraid to post my review but this is still tormenting me 2 years later and I don't want it to happen to anyone else.

I was a weekly patient at that practice, and unhappy but had only had that kind of chiropractic care in the past and didn't know something less invasive and more gentle existed. Until I started seeing Dr. Crockett. His approach is the opposite of what I'm used to, and I no longer dread chiropractic care. Dr. Crockett's methods are gentle, safe and very effective, and he uses technology to help guide interventions, which makes sense in these modern times. Dr. Crockett's office staff are professional, friendly, and will do their best to get me in at a moment's notice, something I greatly appreciate. I can't think of one bad thing to say about this Chiropractic Center!

I tore my ATFL (ankle ligaments) and had to have surgery. I was then referred to Power By Motion…read morefor rehab. After the past six months of attending on and off bi-weekly sessions, I am finally starting to be able to walk again! A simple everyday task that I took for granted in my past that now has taken me over a year to be able to do again! I owe this success in large part to my Physical Therapist Jake! Jake created a specific personalized treatment plan just for me. He keeps our sessions fresh and exciting by always pushing me harder, so I continue to get better and reach my goals. He is extremely knowledgeable and explains why we're doing each exercise and how it relates to my walking goals. He also has a background working with athletes and uses that education to skillfully add-in exercises that are known to help speed up recovery. In addition, he teaches me stretches that help reduce inflammation and decrease my chance of being sore later. Jake starts our sessions out with a targeted massage and the moment I tense up or show pain he backs off that spot, works the area around the spot for a few minutes and then goes back to that painful spot, and it usually no longer hurts. After the massage, we start the workout which varies each time. Powered By Motion is fitted with lots of fancy equipment and I've had the pleasure of getting to play with quite a few! Some of these exciting exercise equipment items include resistance bands, vestibular discs, balance board, foam roller, stretch strap, aerobic step, staircase, stability trainer, weight bars, etc. During our sessions Jake allows me to pick the music - which I love! It makes working out easier when there are good tunes on! During the difficult, but necessary exercises Jake is good at distracting me, so I can keep going. But don't ever forget your count or you're starting over lol! The majority of my appointments have been with Jake; however, I have also worked with Grant a few times. Both therapists are friendly, professional, encouraging, and respectful. Grant also provides an in-depth and enjoyable massage that wakes up your muscles and prepares them for the second half of the session - strengthening. Grant fills the session with several exercises that feel beneficial and geared towards my recovery. In addition, since he's not my main physical therapist he also checks Jake's notes and makes sure to follow the plan he set so we stay on track with my rehab schedule. Stefanie and Miranda are always so friendly and welcoming as you arrive. They quickly check me in and often offer a beverage and snack while I wait. In the lobby area, there is also a Keurig with coffee and coffee condiments, tea, bottled water, crackers, fruit snacks, and more. I have also had the privilege of recently meeting the owner, Roland, at a deliciously catered event at Powered By Motion. He was insightful, kind, and thoughtful. It's nice when even the owner seems to be appreciative and considerate about his customer's well-being and hold his employee's in high regard. Rehab can be hard and painful, but Jake makes our sessions fun and not feel so agonizing like I had originally feared they'd be. Since I've been working with Jake, I've noticed that my balance, flexibility, stability, strength, coordination, and posture have all improved! In addition, I've had increased energy, more confidence, higher self-esteem, and a better attitude. I can finally feel the anger, fear, and depression of my handicap melt away as I become more in control of my body and get back to walking again. All in all, I have enjoyed attending Powered By Motion and I am pleased with my progress as I feel I am on the right track to recovery. I would absolutely recommend Powered By Motion for all your physical therapy needs and more specifically Physical Therapists Jake and Grant!

This was easy, I was taken in quickly, and preregistered easily on MyChart, the corporation's proprietary website. Check-in at the clinic took about 5 minutes, I was taken to the examination room at the appointed time, and Dr. Carol Chang, a DO specializing in sports medicine, examined me thoroughly. First-rate bedside manner, listened well, and did not push chargeable procedures. She called up the x-rays on her desktop computer and explained to me what was going on. I was given exercises to do, as we were in accord about proceeding conservatively. I have no hesitation in recommending this clinic or this provider. I am given to understand that when Salem Health acquired this clinic on 9/29/23, nearly all the former staff were retained.

By the time I arrived home, my knee was sore and swollen. My PCP referred me to a sports medicine specialist for an MRI, and I learned that I'd torn my ACL tendon. My options were limited, cortisone shot, ice and care with my movements. The only other option was surgery. Fast-forward to 2020 after my relocation to Oregon. I'd done okay since, with the occasional pain and swelling. I was excited to explore the wilderness and go hiking in the PNW! I joined my kids on a trip to Silver Falls and made the challenging 7 mile hike, but paid for it afterwards and knew I couldn't continue without addressing my knee. I got another MRI locally confirming the damage and delayed seeing an Orthopedic doctor during the pandemic. Once I felt more comfortable, I went to a consultation at Hope Orthopedic and heard, once again, that my options were either to live with the pain and swelling and be careful OR to have surgery. I gave the green light and got a call to schedule with Willamette Surgery Center (a couple blocks down the street) within a couple of weeks. I'd received a call outlining everything, but no reminder about test requirements and had to delay because of a lack of a required Covid test 2 days prior. Pretty unusual, I thought, in this day and age of text reminders! Either way, I pushed it about 2 weeks out and confirmed my 18+ adult driver/health supervisor for the next few days. My friend was great to be there (Willamette Surgery Center) for me and took good care of me afterwards. I've since seen my doctor and had multiple physical therapy appointments and am on my way to recovery! The PT has been essential in the success and I've enjoyed seeing the progress. Thanks to all at Hope Orthopedics, I'm looking forward to hiking again without pain this Spring!
