I changed my health insurance plan. Got a new doctor and got my meds prescribed through the new plan. They told me that I qualified for Ozempic because of my health issues and it cost me $30 a month. Kaiser would prescribe it, but wouldn't pay for it. Fast-forward to the new doctor and her exams and orders for tests to find out that my back pain and constant diarrhea were actually polyps on my colon. They also discovered some polyps in my esophagus, some scar tissue in my esophagus. They also discovered that there was a narrow and slightly curved spot in my esophagus. They removed the tissue the polyps from both ends and stretched the esophagus so that the curve wasn't as pronounced. The doctor at Kaiser never even considered doing this. Not once during my five years with her did she ever even physically examine me. I would so totally not recommend Kaiser to anyone that has ongoing health issues or doesn't know how to advocate for themselves. I'd heard stories about Kaiser, but couldn't believe that they were actually that bad.

I contacted the clinic and was got details for application requirements and requested an email for reference. After gathering the most personal information about myself and my child I'd shared with anyone (birth certificates, marriage license, ss card), along with my insurance card, I dropped it off and was told to check back by the end of the week to see if it had been processed. The next day, I received a call indicating it was completed and I was now eligible to request an appointment for myself and my daughter. As mentioned, my objective was to get the vaccine, and they just happened to have a drop in clinic scheduled the next day. I showed up early, confirmed my eligibility and took some paperwork to complete while waiting for my number to be called. In less than 10 minutes, I had the shot and sat waiting for 15 minutes to ensure I had no adverse side affects. The medical staff was organized and on top of their game, processing people in six stations and quickly sanitizing everything after each person came through. The 'command center' received the paperwork of each dose recipient and completed CDC vaccine cards with a reminder for each person. In no time, my name was called, I was asked how I was feeling, given my card with a reminder to come back in two weeks, and was free to go. Given the level of care provided today, I wouldn't hesitate to explore other appointments available going forward.

After being brow beatten and diagnosed for…read morea disease I don't have by an anesthesiologist at Salem Health's Comprehensive Pain Clinic I went to OHSU's Comprehensive Pain Center. The difference was astounding! A team of neurologists spent an hour and a half evaluating me and after many tests they diagnosed a severe neurological disorder and referred me to another specialty for another diagnosis of a painfully debilitating disease. Several procedures were performed by anesthesiologists under the direction of my neurologist with good results and a pain management plan involving multiple disciplines was developed. Salem Health should be ashamed of their clinic and the two anesthesiologists that run it. They have no business treating patients who are at their most vulnerable. A doctor that walks in a room and makes a diagnosis after looking at one page of the new patient forms is an incompetent at best. In my case the doctor at Salem Health spent 16 minutes with me and verbally battered me for disagreeing with his instantaneous diagnosis while sneering and ridiculing me. A year later I learned that he had falsified my chart notes by including results of a physical exam he didn't perform. He portrayed me poorly and it was a factor in the denial of my disability insurance. Then the clinic hid his chart notes when I repeatedly requested my records. For weeks they insisted that the only document in my file was the signed release but they finally provided them. When I tried to have my medical record amended Salem Health refused and backed their joke of a doctor. I was awarded disability benefits on appeal and because of the diagnoses and care I received at OHSU I'm doing better but the whole experience with Salem Health has left a bad taste in my mouth. No institution should hire and back such incompetence and no doctor or institution should have that much power.

Additionally, their pricing for out-of-pocket patients is reasonable, which rarely exists in the medical field at all in America. ZoomCare, a local competitor, charges at least twice as much for subpar care. If you're in need of urgent care, this is the place to receive it. Truly a five-star experience.

This place has got to be hell someone that can't take care of themselves . My mom can't she has…read moreearly dementia she can get them go to the bathroom and get back in bed there is no therapy that she's supposed to be getting three or four times a week because they're so short-handed . She is a vegetarian they bring her meat they just hand her her medicine expect her to take it as I said she has early dementia so my sister goes in and finds her medicine all over the floor where she's not taking it she's not eaten. They don't make sure she gets any food nobody checks up on her her phone stays off of the hook constantly for the past 3 weeks we haven't been able to speak to her in her room . We call the desk we call the nurses if you can get anybody to answer the phone they're very nice and they go and check on her and tell us that she's knocked the phone off the hook again but then immediately when you try to call it still you can't get through. Since she doesn't want to bathe then she doesn't want to get out and do too much there is no rehab they can't go in and bathe her if she doesn't want to if she refuses to have her depends changed they just left her sit in it to where she has bed sores all over her . I tried to call the other day it took me an hour and a half to get somebody to go and check on her from the nurses station because she sounded like she had pneumonia to me . Once I got down there they said that they thought she was going to be fine she wasn't running fever or anything like that and that was 3 days ago. Right now she's had to be taken to the emergency room because she's very very ill so something was wrong with her . Her wrist is all messed up they can't tell what's the matter with it whether it's broken or what it swelled up it has fever in it and nobody has any idea how this has happened . So right now there's a hundred people in the emergency room at the hospital that she's at it's going to be a five or six hours at least before she's able to be seen she's on a gurney out in the hall with 100 other patients that are all sick and the orders that the doctor got from the ambulance was just check her wrist . That's all they did was X-rays and check her wrist . My brother-in-law had to go down and raise hell to get the people at the emergency room to see what's the matter with her why she's so sick when they sent her from the nursing home it was only to check her arm . So the nurse that was on vacation came back and looked at her and said yes she is sick she needs to go to the emergency room . After we had been told oh yeah we're monitoring it will contact you Thursday any change in her situation. Which we didn't get the call that anything else was wrong with her that she was any sicker my sister got the call when they said hey we're going to have to take her by ambulance to the hospital . I could go on and on and on but I would not put my loved one in this facility the people seem to be nice on the phone when I speak to him . But the treatment that she gets and the care that she gets is completely unacceptable
