One ring was 10k gold, the other titanium. I'm not sure if the woman helping me did understand what I was saying or if it was a language barrier, but the whole transaction was weird. She took the rings and had a look. When she looked at the titanium ring she mumbled something about not being able to find a stamp on the inside and that she would assume it was 10k gold. I corrected her but she ignored me. She threw the rings on a scale together then pulled out a calculator. She came up with a price of $135. I said thanks but no-thanks and went to leave. She then called over another guy who had a look. He threw the titanium ring back at me saying there's nothing he can do with it, which is understandable. He then looked at the gold ring and came back with a price of $95. That was good enough for me and took the cash. The woman who was originally helping me said that she didn't know why he was giving me that price and mumbled something to the guy in another language. These guys need to get their crap together. I went to DFL to exchange an old gold bracelet for some 18k white gold wedding bands. Serko gave…read moreme ~$1k less for the bracelet than what it was worth. Then he said I owed him another $938 for the bands in 18k white gold. The bracelet was 35.5 grams of 14k gold. On May 27, '25 , 14k gold was $85.40/g, totalling $3031.70, ..he gave me $2000. When I realized the mistake 1 hour later, I called him and he said he had already sent it to his refiner and the refiner said it was only 11k gold. This was after Serko did 2 acid tests on the bracelet right in front of me. Yesterday I went and picked up the wedding bands, I gave him the $938 as I cannot admit to my fiance that I have been scammed. The 2 bands have a total weight of 12.5 grams, and as 18k white gold is 75% gold and 25% nickle, that is a total of 9.375g of gold, or $800.63. With the theft of $1000 in the sale of the bracelet and the additional $938, I paid $3938 for 2 rings that have ~$800 worth of gold in them. Of course there is labour in the making of the rings , but not $3k. I feel dumb and duped.

Armen was nice and he gave us a quick overview on how Diamonds for Less works. He told us it's usually the last stop for people who've already shopped around a bit and know what they want. With that, we left and visited more shops to get an idea of what we wanted. Then we booked an appointment and came back a few weeks later. This is where it went downhill very quickly. Our appointment was with Serko. Based on other reviews, we thought it would be a great experience. It was quite the opposite. To start, he didn't even greet us or ask for our names. We awkwardly entered the office and took a seat (without him offering us one). He actually didn't even say anything and just stared at us. So we started the conversation, telling him about our search so far. We told him that based on our chat with Armen, we think we're ready to take a look at Diamonds for Less' inventory. Again, not much prompting of questions from Serko. I was honestly just so uncomfortable at this point. He didn't seem friendly or helpful at all. He didn't even seem like he wanted us to buy anything. He asked us characteristics we're looking for and we told him the 4 Cs. So he showed us a few. We were looking for GIA certified, which limited the amount of inventory they had. Out of the few he showed us, we liked one and asked to see the GIA report. We noticed it had medium fluorescence and we wanted none. We brought it up and asked if he had any with none. He went on a whole spiel about how fluorescence isn't a bad thing. You can only notice under black light. Why don't we want it? His wife has one with fluorescence! Why didn't we tell him from the start we didn't want fluorescence?! We need to be straight with him. We won't find one with no fluorescence here. I don't even know how to describe how we felt. We wanted to just get up and walk away. Had he asked us in the beginning our preference for each characteristic, he would have figured it out. But instead, he just asked us what we wanted. Fluorescence slipped our mind. Anyhow, we stayed and asked more questions. We asked to compare a few of the diamonds with different characteristics. He asked us why? You're not interested in that one, so why do you want to see it? We thought, "Well, maybe if you let us see it and we like it better, we might?" But we didn't say anything. He then told us he had a diamond in his other location overseas with no fluorescence - Wait, I thought he just told us we wouldn't find one with none here?.... After looking at the GIA report, we thought it was a good option. We were going to another store after and wanted to see their selection first before committing to this purchase. We asked Serko if we could call the day after to see if it's still available. He said it won't be. Someone will probably buy it. So we say okay, can we call anyway to see? He said sure, gave us his card and we left. That's when I could breathe again. There were many other little things that happened or was said during the experience that just made it even more terrible. I wish we had a better experience because they do have good prices! Just not the people we want to be dealing with for a very special piece.
