Aram (the owner/jeweller) completely rebuilt my wedding ring for me, after it was crushed in an unfortunate incident. All of the jewels in it had been broken or cracked; the ring also was warped. He acquired new jewels and melted down and then recast the gold into a more solid ring than before (the portion of the ring behind the jewels been "hollow"; the "new" ring was all solid). He did the work on time (I gave him a few weeks...needed it done for our 30th anniversary), for the cost which I originally paid for the ring 30 years ago at a spot which (as I discovered at one point) did not use the best quality jewels. He also did a small job for me (gluing onto some earrings little pearls which had fallen off it...I have had these earrings for more than 30 years), no charge. I will not hesitate to go to him again (specifically, my husband's wedding band, which matches my ring, has lost two jewels during the 30 years of our marriage). I do not hesitate to recommend Strada Jewellery. Bonus: Aram is also a very friendly, genuinely nice man. read more

Resized my 18k white gold wedding band to a hair smaller than a normal half size but not quite a quarter size to ensure that perfect fit! My band has little stones halfway around it so it's not a simple plain band. Honestly, I was a little nervous about bringing my ring in for resizing because after all, it's a very special item and it's brand new. But he explained everything along the way and welcomed me to stay and watch. It was very interesting to see how it all worked! He even offered to wash my engagement ring as well. **QUICK - PLEASANT - REASONABLY PRICED** I discovered Strada through Yelp and saw that it had rave reviews. Everyone spoke highly of Aram and his work so I requested a quote through the Yelp app. I have a 14k rose gold morganite engagement ring that needed resizing since it was too big and I also warped it by still wearing it. I told Aram the info on my ring and the also sent him pictures. Yelp gave me the option to send the same message to about 4 other jewelry repair shops but Aram got back to me first with a quote, what he would do, and said it would take an hour and I can watch. One other shop got back to me many hours later but $5 cheaper but it was just an estimate and would have to see if it costs more when they see it. I decided to go with Aram and he was fantastic. I sat and watched him work and took me through every single step of his process all while having a delightful conversation. He took his time and let me try on first before finishing. I'm glad I stayed because it was still a tad big so he quickly got to work. He also took the time to carefully polish it and offered to polish it whenever I'm in the area. A woman with a baby dropped in to quickly get her necklace fixed and honestly he was just so nice and said it would take 5 minutes and it did. Also she had a baby with her and Aram and I both agreed Mother's get priority. Eventually the other shops got back to me but days later and were going to charge me more. One shop asked for the amount I ended up paying Aram and then an extra $65 before tax to possibly tighten diamonds that might come loose. I highly recommend his services. He was quick but efficient, was such a lovely man to talk to, he was knowledgeable, and seemed like an honest man just doing good work. Check him out! read more

I have been meaning to write a yelp review for almost a year! I've been so busy with my life I kept forgetting. I went to see Aram a year ago when I was traveling to Canada. I lived in California at the time and wanted to find a jeweler who could adjust my ring size in front of me for insecurity reasons. I searched on yelp and google for a few days before I found his business. I called and he picked up right away! He was super informative and we booked an appointment. When meeting Aram, he was so sweet and friendly. He made conversations and made you feel comfortable and safe. He took good care of the ring and made sure it was polished and clean afterwards. Prices were reasonable and also included tip for his kindness. The resizing also took less than 30 minutes and he secured all the diamonds on the ring so it wouldn't fall out for security purposes. I honestly found this place out of desperation and the to get something really important fixed. The owner is probably one of the most helpful and humble person I've ever met. (He even does that now thing that Johnny Depp does) The store is located on the second floor in a building above Starbucks. It's a pretty small place but nifty and an owner who knows what he's doing. I'm so happy with the service Aram gave us for re-sizing my 1920s antique diamond ring. The ring is a very delicate filigree made of 18k white gold. It was MUCH too small for me, a 3.5. I needed him to re-size it considerably, up to a 5.5. When he saw my ring, he immediately remarked on it's quality and age. He had to add gold to it to increase it's size and offered to do it all while I watched as it would take only about an hour. I opted to leave and get a tea, and when i came back it fit perfectly and was beautiful and shiny! Aram was knowledgable and friendly. The service was fast and the quality was great! I'll definitely use Aram/Strada again when I need my jewellery repaired or sized. He did mention that his lease was finished at the end of Dec. 2014. It is with heavy heart that I am writing this review. I waited three weeks to cool down and to get my engagement ring back after sending it to the original manufacturer to get completely remade, before I can logically write this review without getting emotional. I visited Strada three weeks ago after reading all of the wonderful reviews on Yelp. My fiance proposed to me last month and he ordered the ring from James Allen. I absolutely love the ring but unfortunately it was about half a size too big (would not want to risk losing that puppy!). James Allen offer free re-sizing but I didn't want to part ways with the ring for a few weeks after just having received it. I decided to look for a local jeweler that can do simple resizing and had extremely high hopes for Strada after reading reviews. My ring has a very thin rose gold band and has little diamonds embedded within the band. I guess because the bank is so thin, that there were just enough material around each of the little diamonds to hold it in place. I did not know that resizing it down would cause some of the small diamonds to fall out (although I assumed if its not a simple re-sizing job, a professional would be able to tell me before cutting a piece out of the band). So after the owner fixed the sizing, one of the small diamonds fell out. At first he told me that it will be extremely easy to fix and he confidently stuck one small diamond back into the band. It was completely uneven and about a quarter of a millimeter lower than the rest of the small diamonds on the band. I was already in disbelief that he would hand a piece of jewelry back to a client looking like that and try to convince us that it's okay. For the next hour, he proceeded to attempt to fix the damage on the band and promised me that "no one leaves his shop unhappy". However, each attempt only made the band worse until it was completely destroyed. When the second small diamond fell out, he went and picked up a phone call and lost the small diamond on the floor. This diamond was never found again. Even though he replaced it with another one from his stash, I was still distraught that a piece of the ring is now lost. The worst part of it all was throughout the entire session, he kept saying how low quality the ring is and how companies like Wal-Mart are making rings these days. I spent a total of two hours there and the results were: completely destroyed band, loss of one small diamond, and a slap in the face when he said my fiance bought the ring from a Wal-Mart equivalent. I walked out of the shop crying and lucky for me, he did not ask me to pay for a destroyed ring... I know I have written a lot, but to summarize my thoughts in a few bullet points: - If you have a simple ring with a very simple band, you can go there and get it fixed for quick and cheap. - The owner should have known that the small diamonds on the ring are fragile and that sizing down could cause some to fall out and it is next to impossible to place them back on by hand (or it would have to get remade); when in doubt, stop the work and ask to take it somewhere else. - If you do still choose to come here for any complicated piece of jewelry, please make sure he does not answer phone calls or book a longer time slot with him so he is not distracted to prevent loss of any pieces of your jewelry. Aram did an amazing job repairing a very important and prized silver ring I brought in. The ring snapped and was damaged pretty badly and I was unsure if it could even be repaired. I recently purchased an antique diamond ring that I needed resized. I didn't trust anyone enought to leave it so Strada Jewellery Repair did it for my in front of me while I waited. He also cleaned my diamond studs, engagement and wedding rings and replated them with rhodium so they look brand new! All this, the 18k gold ring was made 1.5 sizes larger, and my total was $70. I'm very picky about jewellery, so my boyfriend and I decided it would be best that I choose a ring myself. I spent weeks searching for the perfect ring, and finally found an antique eternity ring from Paris that I totally fell in love with. It needed resizing and some of the stones needed resetting. Aram did the work, and actually reset every one of the diamonds, all in one day. Only problem is, the new settings are much larger than the old, they're blobby looking, and all uneven, with different shapes. The ring is barely recognizable, and has lost all of its charm. Now we're having to go to the trouble, and much greater expense, of trying to find someone to undo his work, and restore the ring. I just hope it can be done, and that it won't end up costing too much. This was beyond disappointing - at the risk of sounding melodramatic, I'm heartbroken. If you have a simple repair job, or a ring with a plain metal band that needs resizing, you might be fine with this guy. For anything more complicated, I would recommend going elsewhere. read more
