I went to the Devil's Workshop in October of last year to participate in two of their jewelry making workshops. The workshops were held on a Sunday, and I arrived slightly before noon and met Andrea, the teacher who would leave both workshops. I had never been to the shop (having discovered the workshops online and signing up for them on the phone), so I was glad I got there early because it gave me time to look around. I was also able to go through their bead selection and pick mine out before anyone else arrived. Each of my workshops cost $45+HST, and signing up to do both of them at the same time entitled me to a $12 bead credit while I was there. Each workshop was slated to last for two hours. The store is tiny, but it is well-laid out. The front half contains the retail portion of the shop. The room is painted a crisp white, and glass cupboards and shelves hold a number of beautiful, hand-made jewelry items. The entire space is open-concept, so as various Sunday shoppers walked in to check out the goods, we were on display learning to make jewelry. This was, thankfully, not too distracting to take away from the workshop itself. The workshop space is equipped with six stations designed to do some pretty hard-core jewelry making. I was just taking wire-working and bead-working classes, so we didn't use a lot of what I saw there. However, it was obvious that you can do so much more than string beads onto wire at their various workshops (wedding band and silversmith workshops, just to name a few). In the wire-working workshop, we learned to create floating necklaces and how to use crimp beads. After we finished our necklaces, we were able to create matching sets of earrings using similar techniques. In the bead-working workshop, we learned how to use head pins to attach beads to various length of chains (or other beads) to create necklaces and earrings of varying lengths and styles. Regrettably, we ran out of time to make rings (something I was really looking forward to), but I left feeling I was armed with enough basic technique and knowledge to create my own at a later date. After all was said and done, I paid an additional $3 for materials and left with a beautiful necklace and a few different styles of earrings. More importantly, I left with enough knowledge to purchase the materials I need and continue to create jewelry items on my own.

We had such an incredible time at the wedding band workshop beginning of April! I would 100% recommend to any engaged couple. It made the ring so much more special and meaningful to me, knowing it was made by my fiancé :) they're so knowledgeable and patient, we learned a lot and are so happy to get the exact rings we wanted :D thanks so much Devil's Workshop!

If you are looking for anything jewellery related, within any price range, then this is your one-stop top shop! I am very picky when it comes to jewellery, and I tell you It is the only jewellery store that I deal with in Toronto. They're so much selection to selections to choose from, I just want to buy them all. That being said, my last purchase (before my 24K ring and my Bracelet 24K etc... but who's counting lol). This pendant I didn't have to try it neither see it physically, Because MINH CHÂU always made the best 24k gold. I am not here to neither brag about this shop, but I tell you by experience they are heavy duty. I just want to say many thanks to Ann who help me find the right Pendant who have the patient as an angel. She always there to smooth it out the transaction. No need to bargain, she give you the price that worth your buck. MINH CHÂU please keep providing the most wonderful choice of gold like you always been doing. However, it was so heavily worn that it was completely unwearable and would most likely need to be melted down and rebuilt. My fiancé shopped around at a lot of jewellers, but everyone focused on the resale value and kept insisting on replacing the diamonds, not seeming to understand the sentimental value of the ring. Aria was the first jeweller who seemed more than happy to work with him to preserve the structure and meaning of the ring! They were also the only ones who weren't going to send the ring out - he wanted to make sure it wasn't going to be sent somewhere that he couldn't be sure what was happening. They were excellent with communication, even agreeing to only call during the hours that he knew I was at work, and were great at keeping him updated on the process. He had also brought in another family engagement ring with the intention of using the gold to help fill in the structural integrity of the other ring. Between using that gold, a bit of their own, and the remaining gold from my Grandmother's ring, they restored the ring to its original beauty without even needing to melt down the setting! The diamonds were removed and cleaned, and the original setting cleaned up, so now the ring shines in a way I've never seen. Additionally, they cut, cleaned, and saved the setting from the other engagement ring and turned it into a beautiful pendant that I'll be able to wear on our wedding day. It was all very reasonably priced, and I'm blown away with the final result. I love that they valued the ring as much as I did and truly understood the meaning behind this whole process. I can't recommend them enough! I'm hoping to go back to have my wedding band made soon! Thank you so much!
