Then he said I owed him another $938 for the bands in 18k white gold. The bracelet was 35.5 grams of 14k gold. On May 27, '25 , 14k gold was $85.40/g, totalling $3031.70, ..he gave me $2000. When I realized the mistake 1 hour later, I called him and he said he had already sent it to his refiner and the refiner said it was only 11k gold. This was after Serko did 2 acid tests on the bracelet right in front of me. Yesterday I went and picked up the wedding bands, I gave him the $938 as I cannot admit to my fiance that I have been scammed. The 2 bands have a total weight of 12.5 grams, and as 18k white gold is 75% gold and 25% nickle, that is a total of 9.375g of gold, or $800.63. With the theft of $1000 in the sale of the bracelet and the additional $938, I paid $3938 for 2 rings that have ~$800 worth of gold in them. Of course there is labour in the making of the rings , but not $3k. I feel dumb and duped.

I was honestly so traumatized by my experience here…read more The first time we came here, it was because we were in the area. We didn't have an appointment, but we were still greeted by Armen. Armen was nice and he gave us a quick overview on how Diamonds for Less works. He told us it's usually the last stop for people who've already shopped around a bit and know what they want. With that, we left and visited more shops to get an idea of what we wanted. Then we booked an appointment and came back a few weeks later. This is where it went downhill very quickly. Our appointment was with Serko. Based on other reviews, we thought it would be a great experience. It was quite the opposite. To start, he didn't even greet us or ask for our names. We awkwardly entered the office and took a seat (without him offering us one). He actually didn't even say anything and just stared at us. So we started the conversation, telling him about our search so far. We told him that based on our chat with Armen, we think we're ready to take a look at Diamonds for Less' inventory. Again, not much prompting of questions from Serko. I was honestly just so uncomfortable at this point. He didn't seem friendly or helpful at all. He didn't even seem like he wanted us to buy anything. He asked us characteristics we're looking for and we told him the 4 Cs. So he showed us a few. We were looking for GIA certified, which limited the amount of inventory they had. Out of the few he showed us, we liked one and asked to see the GIA report. We noticed it had medium fluorescence and we wanted none. We brought it up and asked if he had any with none. He went on a whole spiel about how fluorescence isn't a bad thing. You can only notice under black light. Why don't we want it? His wife has one with fluorescence! Why didn't we tell him from the start we didn't want fluorescence?! We need to be straight with him. We won't find one with no fluorescence here. I don't even know how to describe how we felt. We wanted to just get up and walk away. Had he asked us in the beginning our preference for each characteristic, he would have figured it out. But instead, he just asked us what we wanted. Fluorescence slipped our mind. Anyhow, we stayed and asked more questions. We asked to compare a few of the diamonds with different characteristics. He asked us why? You're not interested in that one, so why do you want to see it? We thought, "Well, maybe if you let us see it and we like it better, we might?" But we didn't say anything. He then told us he had a diamond in his other location overseas with no fluorescence - Wait, I thought he just told us we wouldn't find one with none here?.... After looking at the GIA report, we thought it was a good option. We were going to another store after and wanted to see their selection first before committing to this purchase. We asked Serko if we could call the day after to see if it's still available. He said it won't be. Someone will probably buy it. So we say okay, can we call anyway to see? He said sure, gave us his card and we left. That's when I could breathe again. There were many other little things that happened or was said during the experience that just made it even more terrible. I wish we had a better experience because they do have good prices! Just not the people we want to be dealing with for a very special piece.

They even went above and beyond to help me restore my grandma's bracelet to a like-new quality, helping our wedding day to be that much more special. I cannot recommend Engage Studio enough. You'll love working with Miriam and Ji. They are some of the nicest people and helped make our ring experience so special. Thank you both!

Last year, my then boyfriend and I visited several big box jewelry stores to get an idea of the…read morestyle and carat size that I would like for my engagement ring - we never intended to buy anything from them (as their quality is awful), but I was already sick of dealing with their sales people. "Oooh"-in and "Aah"-ing at every mediocre ring that I tried on, and forcibly wedging themselves into a very personal moment for my partner and I. We walked into Engage Diamond Studio without an appointment on a weekday night. It was quiet and the saleswoman was finishing up with a client in her office. She invited us to help ourselves. This was by far my favorite part. Just me and my partner, walking around the empty store and grabbing dozens of beautiful rings from the displays for me to try on. So much fun! Once I had narrowed down my choices, Evelyn talked to us for over an hour about diamonds, rings and even cute stories about other couples. We stayed way past closing time. My partner went in that week to pick out a stone and design the ring with Evelyn's help. He combined several elements from the rings I had liked to create a ring that is uniquely mine. He insisted that they expedite the building of the ring so that he could present it to me on our anniversary, and they delivered. I absolutely adore my ring and the whole process was lots of fun for me and minimally stressful for my fiancé. I would recommend Engage Diamond Studio to anyone and we will definitely be back to purchase our bands from there as well.

We asked several jewelers for a quote, but were either told the design we wanted was "not structurally sound," and would require modification. Or, they were not familiar with the stone itself as their insurance would not cover potential damages other than on diamonds. We reached out to Kevin and were thrilled he was able to accommodate to our specifications. In fact, he improved on the design we wanted and made it more beautiful than we imagined. The consultation took around 20 minutes, and the ring was ready for pick up within less than 3 weeks. It also came with a unique LED lit ring box, an appraisal, as well as lifetime warranty. During our discussion, we didn't feel any pressure from him to opt for more expensive materials, as a matter of fact, he not only made pragmatic suggestions to us, but advised for us to choose white gold over platinum as it would look better, since platinum is more dull than white gold and wouldn't suite the stone (platinum is more expensive than white gold). He also made several professional suggestions that a customer like me wouldn't have known outside this industry (i.e. the small sapphire I wanted is considered inexpensive etc.) The setting we had Kevin made was around $3,000 including the materials and small diamonds. We can't wait to have him make our wedding band once we pick out a design. If you're looking for someone to make your dream piece of jewelry without compromises in design, I would highly recommend this business.

My fiancé and I had literally just gotten engaged the morning we decided to go to Spence to pick out an engagement ring for me (my fiancé wanted this to be an experience we could enjoy together), so we went to Spence just to look since everything was still so fresh and we wanted to enjoy the engagement part. However, that didn't last long. We were paired with a salesman named Arya (no longer employed there) who made us feel pressured, belittled my wishes, and only showed us their "artisan" diamonds (mined diamonds were not even mentioned during this experience). Eventually after trying on rings and asking questions when we could (he split his attention between us and another couple), he took us to a room and talked my fiancé into a larger diamond than I felt comfortable with (my fiancé is paying for the ring, but I have to wear it everyday). We were pressured to put a refundable "hold deposit" on the diamond we chose, despite my telling Arya repeatedly that we literally just got engaged and weren't ready. We went back 2 weeks later to collect our hold deposit and try our luck at their Mississauga location. I'd love to say that experience went over better, however, that would not be the truth. Needless to say, I will not be a returning customer to Spence for anything important. If I want a paid of artisan diamond stud earrings, sure, but for a piece of jeweler I will be showcasing on myself for the rest of my life, not a chance.
