It has many little disjoint puzzles which are somewhat challenging. Each puzzle is independent of the others, which allows for a group to split into smaller groups and solve the puzzles in parallel. The second room was The Lost Treasure (3/5 in difficulty). It was well thought-out and somewhat more challenging than advertised. The main room leads to a secondary room, and the main room is considerably more challenging. Both rooms were suitable for all ages. One of the great things about Enigma is that they allow you a lot of extra time. On both occasions they allowed us almost an additional hour to try to escape. They gave lots of clues, without taking away from the challenge. Moreover, the place is well maintained and it is clean. Keep up the good work.

Getting…read morein was slightly disorganized, but understandably so given that there were at least 50 people squeezed into the reception area at one point. It's a cozy place though with a few couches, coat racks, and lockers to store your belongings - oh, and the mandatory signs to hold up for pictures afterwards, of course. There are 7 different rooms here, 2 of which are horror themed. My team selected the "Godfather" with its 5/5 stars in difficulty rating, with the reason that we wouldn't be embarrassed even if we failed (i.e., a good excuse haha). Without spoiling anything, it gave us quite a run for our money! At first I had thought that the 9 people (maximum) we had in the small room would be overkill, but there were a few convoluted clues in there that had all of us circling around in confusion. It was only after 4 calls for hints later (hints are unlimited here - you'll need them) and with just 1 minute to go on the clock that we thankfully made our escape. Overall, everyone enjoyed the escape games, and the friendliness of the staff definitely contributed to the positive experience. Instructions were clear and the process was fairly efficient, although I felt they were somewhat understaffed as there was sometimes a delay in receiving hints - again, this was to be expected as we constituted a large group, but you'll appreciate my frustration when you're in the room staring in panic at the clock counting down on the wall. The price is reasonable given the location, recommended! :)

The Puzzles We ended up doing two because we had such a good time. We did the Amun Ra room and the Wilshire puzzle. They were engaging and well thought out and had us working together to communicate our findings and surroundings. The production of each room and immersiveness were great. Sometimes the puzzles didn't work PERFECTLY, but the staff were quick to correct it if things didn't work well which was rare The Service The staff were fantastic . All were friendly and wanted to make sure we had the best experience possible. The team was clear with the rules and expectations of each room. Follow the rules and you will have fun. The Value It's just under $40 for each person playing and each room with the minimum of 4 participants is a private booking. I really enjoyed this as I got to work with people I knew and could work off their energies as well. It's worth the money and it's time and money well spent. I'm looking forward to trying the Steampunk room as well as the upcoming Microsoft HoloLens room. I would 100% recommend this place and can't wait to go again. I can't recommend it enough!

A group of us had a reservation for the 8pm session in the hockey room (YES they have a hockey themed ones, my boyfriend LOVED it since he's a massive hockey fan). We arrived a bit early, so was told to wait a little bit in the game room. Once it was our turn, we had the standard procedure like other escape rooms- store away your personal belongings in a locker, coat check, rules explained, etc. THE ROOM - beautifully staged, very much like an actual hockey locker room - great props, well maintained - clues are very cleverly set up ( we almost got all the clues without helps but we were always soooooo close to solving and then asked for the hint) STAFF - both staffs were extremely friendly, very helpful (in my opinion) on the clues and will guide you to solving the locks after you tell them what's your progress OVERALL THOUGHTS - given the way the hockey room was set up and the storyline about the theme, it's very kids/ family friendly - prices were affordable, not on the pricey side compare to others - location is very convenient, as there's a subway station right around the corner

I was unable to ask for it to be delivered on a certain day and it came in a brand bag and even had three bags of popcorn in it. What a nice touch We got a trivia game and a betting /someone trivia game. They were both in great condition and they had a contents list that was laminated inside. And all the cards had protective sleeves over them so it was great for keeping everything fresh as well as cleaning anything between customers. I opted to drop it off myself instead of paying for it to be picked up. They close at seven so it was a little tight for me with when I finish work but I was able to get them back. It was really hard to find. They have a sandwich sign that sometimes gets knocked down in the wind and it wasn't clear inside what way I needed to go to find the place. I love this idea though the fact that you can rent boardgames instead of having to buy them is perfect. You could really step up your game night game

Casa Loma

A fun off the beaten path way to experience Casa Loma!…read more We played the King of the Bootleggers game in the afternoon (4:30pm). The game is designed for up to 15 people. In the end our group had 9 people. A little unusual is that because the games are designed for such a large number of people you'll likely be playing with strangers unless you have enough friends and book the entire game. Since the castle closes at 5pm we didn't have trouble parking. If you're purely there for the game I'd recommend booking an evening game so the parking lot is more likely to have space. The website difficulty rating was accurate. With 9 people it was very challenging to finish in 60 minutes. If only we had about 10 more minutes we probably could have solved it fully. (Someone told me that Murdoch Mysteries was so hard to at with a group of 12 they only solved about 70% of it. But she still had a great time!) King of the Bootleggers is great in that there are three separate rooms that are part of the puzzle. So the group is divided up. You may be able to mostly only play with your friends and not strangers. At the end you do come together for a final puzzle that requires some teamwork. That also means this particular game has re-play value! If you played one room you could get play again and ask to play a different room. The actors did a fantastic job and really set this escape room apart from all others I've played. They were helpful with giving unlimited hints while staying in character. If encouraged to interact with them in character (but no physical touching. Be nice to them). Part of Bootleggers was walking through the tunnels of the castle. The tunnels were decorated with lights for Christmas! So that was a nice bonus. Highly recommend! There's also a photo op at the end and you can tip your actors. Take away points are you should have a lot of friends or be prepared to play with strangers if you want to win and go in the evening for better parking.

This was my first escape room but I would definitely recommend. Parking can be an issue so we Ubered from our downtown hotel.

I've had good experiences at a few of these 'escape room' type places in Toronto, but my time at…read moreLost Canada was strange and not very enjoyable. I had friends in town from Europe, and this was a disappointing last outing before they returned home. When we arrived, we were 'greeted' by three employees behind the front desk. Only one of the employees acknowledged our presence, however; the other two were busy eating very loudly and talking with their mouths full (at the front desk, directly in front of their customers). We were made to feel more like a burden then valued customers. When checking in, we were told that the room we had reserved (Return of Nemesis) was damaged and not available. I would have been happy with this explanation and not questioned it except for the fact that we were initially given two other reasons why we couldn't use the 'Nemesis' room. We had first been told that Nemisis would be too difficult, then we were told that the room was only for returning guests, and finally we were informed that Nemesis was not available because it needed repair. This seemed very shifty and made us skeptical as to what the real reason might have been for changing the room from the one we had reserved. We were told that we should instead try another "prison escape type room". The employee didn't tell us the name of the room, but in retrospect, it appears to have been the "Aching Time of Pi" room. We were led to the Pi room without any explanation of the story regarding the room. We were only informed that the goal of the room was to open the door; this was explained only after we asked the staff member to describe our objective. The room itself was interesting looking. It was however quite dirty (I almost mistook a large dust/hair ball in one corner as a prop). There were some fun and high tech aspects to the game, though these did not seem relevant to the story line of, 'Pi' as it's described on their website. Towards the end of the challenge there were aspects that had no logical consistency, and would require pure luck to overcome. When the staff was asked for a clue, we were instructed to look for ''the differences between the clocks" when in fact we should have been told to look for similarities. This contributed to what had already been a very frustrating experience. When our time had expired, the employee, who was not busy eating at the main desk, rode into the room on a mini-segway and demonstrated how to complete one of the completely irrational tasks. He did so while implying that the answer should be obvious, when it was very clearly not logical. To his credit and despite his aloofness, the employee did admit that the music in the room was too loud and that "maybe [they] should lower the volume. We left Lost Canada feeling belittled, confused, disappointed, and a little grossed out. Treat your customers with respect, get some objective outside input on the logic behind your challenges, clean up your act and get some manners !
