The highlight of this place is Alexander's Meats. Within the market are prime cuts of meat. Everything from dry-aged beef, poultry, lamb, A5 Wagyu, and seafood is available. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was here in this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is pretty big. Lots of parking spots for you to choose from. This small, family owned supermarket doesn't get busy, so you shouldn't have a problem with parking. The spots are also pretty big. Establishment: The establishment itself is very clean, neat, tidy, and organized. The aisles are wide too. You have a variety of fresh fruits and veggies to choose from. They also have a cute and small bakery inside the grocery store. A favorite of mine is their banana cream pie. Their coconut cream pie is dope too. They have a very nice fresh produce, deli, meat and seafood section. Staff: The staff here are very kind, friendly, and helpful. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

Once inside, you still need to take a number and wait to order sashimi. I guess most moms want sashimi for Mother's Day? Pre-ordered trays can be picked up at the front counter. BUT, the big news (to me at least) is that Yama will be expanding and taking the space next door that used to be Thai Paradise. They plan to have seating and this should also alleviate the issue like today where they just can't let everyone inside due to limited space.

On the left side, you will find fridges full of premade rolls and some cooked foods. Head towards the back and you will find the sashimi counter. Pick the pieces of fish that you want and they will cut and package for you. There is a very nice Asian gentleman who works behind the sashimi counter, and he actually taught me how to spot a good piece of sashimi! The premade sushi is on a first come first serve basis, so once they sell out then it's done for the day. Here are my usual picks: California Rolls- Yama is known for this Spicy tuna Rolls- Bite sized, perfectly seasoned tuna Albacore sashimi- surprisingly, this is in the fridge, not the sashimi counter Chicken karaage- The mayo based dipping sauce is unique but delicious Salmon, yellowtail, otoro sashimi- Perfect sliced pieces of high quality fish Right now it is just grab and go. But they are expanding to the space next door to provide seating and possibly hot foods. They also have a great selection of party platters, but orders must be placed in advance. Check their website or call the store for details and availability. Pro tip: if you have a long drive home, ask for a bag of ice from the cashier to keep the food cold.

This location is at The Shops on Lake Ave in Pasadena. Parking garage is conveniently nearby just next door. Staff was so friendly and nice especially the gentleman standing at the front greeting everyone who walked into the store. Thank you Sir! Outside patio area available for chilling and dining. Great inside space was bright and clean. Aisles were perfectly stocked and organized. Deli had so many freshly prepared hot and cold foods. I don't think I've ever seen so much pre-packaged foods. Food galore at first sight. My eyes widened by the section. It was like being in a food amusement park. It was really fun to peruse the aisles. So very cool! I couldn't choose with so many options in front of my eyes, but I did end up buying half a pound of Nolan Beet Salad, one container of chicken breast lemon herb, and one container of tumeric rice. One tiny gripe, the prices were outrageously high on certain food items... $20+ per lb. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and indulge a little on healthy clean foods. I was okay in spending over $26 on my small lunch meal. It probably won't be a regular thing though. Beet salad was delicious and light. Beets were very sweet... I'm getting one pound next time. Chicken was a bit dry... probably won't get again. Tumeric rice was pleasantly soft and tasty... worth getting again. My future visits would have to be longer so I can immersed myself in all of its organic-ness. I want to try their pre-packaged salmon plate, sushi, and of course, more sweet beets. I'm sure there are other foods I can indulge in. Yes, I'll be back despite of its pricey cost.

Sandwiches start at just $4.99 and they use Boar's Head meats, which already puts it above your typical grocery store sandwich. You can choose from their preset options or build your own. I went with a turkey sandwich on sourdough with all the add-ons, and everything tasted fresh and satisfying. They'll even toast the bread for you, which makes a big difference. What really stood out is the value--you can load up your sandwich and still keep it under $10. They also have combo options where you can get a drink and a bag of chips for $5.99, making it an easy and affordable meal. Quick, convenient, and budget-friendly. Definitely a good spot if you're in the area and need a simple lunch.

See hilarious review below by Robert H!…read more I would like to add my 2 cents on the sandwich situation, which depending on the time of the day you hit up the deli, can be very dire. The older Hispanic ladies who make the sandwiches in the morning = amazing. Love them. They are warm, kind, quick, and attention-detailed. The sandwiches they make? Literally chef's kiss! Heaven on earth! Now onto the men who the make the sandwiches later in the day. Complete night and day. Watching them make sandwiches is like watching Down Syndrome people compete in the Special Olympics or the infants race in those baby crawl races. No directions, no focus, no sense of urgency. Think of the slothes working at the DMV from Zootopia. They talk to each other. They stare at the sandwich order print outs. They make the sandwiches haphazardly. And they still get the sandwiches wrong! How can you make sandwiches wrong when the pace has been so leisurely?? In conclusion, can Sprouts please please please, for the love of God (or the universe if you're an atheist), hire more ladies to work during the lunch times and evening times?!

It went straight to the trash, and never will I buy pizza from here again. Another time, the pizza stand was completely empty and I saw numerous packaged pizza doughs that looked like they had been out and over proofing for wayy too long! It wasn't refrigerated, and when I asked what happened, they said the burner broke down. If that's the case , you need to refrigerate the dough or hire someone that cares enough to handle food properly there. The cashiers never smile, don't make eye contact, and never greet you. They all look miserable ALL THE TIME! One time a cashier filled up one of my bags with really heavy groceries then told me to put it in the cart. I tried to pick it up and almost got a hernia ,and so I told him it's too heavy and I can't pick it up, and he just ignored me. He didn't try to put it in the cart himself because even he couldn't (it was so heavy). He didn't have the common sense or decency to even try emptying some of it into another bag . He just stood there, said nothing. (I ended up doing that myself) I tried to cut some slack for these guys, and give them the benefit of the doubt, and I've never once been rude to anyone there (even when I felt I had every right) I still kept quiet. However, the consistency of the horrendous customer service skills is disgraceful and disgusting. Where are the managers? Who is on the hiring committee? Why aren't any of these people getting proper training? Where is quality control? It's sad that standards are so low at this location that you treat your long time loyal customers this bad. Truly a shame. If I was a health inspector, I'd be shutting down your pizza center first, then I'd fire every single cashier there and train proper human beings to work with human beings.
