Pasadena Farmers Market - Ken's produce

Pasadena Farmers Market is my go to nearby market ever since moving to Pasadena. (My old favorite…read morewas Torrance Farmers Market when I lived down there). The market itself is smaller than some of the other ones nearby, but I love the variety of produce and particularly fruit. Almost every Saturday, I buy whatever is in season and delicious. I usually stop at Guzman Farms for plums, pears, Weiser Family Farms for melons and potatoes, and Underwood Farms for all my vegetables. Underwood is always busy, but I do love that they have a frequent shopper punch card to save $10 after you get enough punches. When they are there, I will also get fruit/peaches from Tonarelli (which has my favorite peaches) and Galpin Farms Some of the other notable stands include eggs, meat, fish and baked goods. There are a few prepared food stands like a tamale stand, pita/spreads, and Italian food. I know that many farmer's markets have become like food courts, but that's not really the case here. Parking can be difficult but if you get there early around 7:30 am, there are still a good number of spaces available.

Farmers market is set up next by a high school. Parking is at the front of the high school. Do come early because parking is limited based on what I could tell. A good variety of vendors from all over Northern and Southern California. They were all super friendly and nice. You may find fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, juices, organic goods, non-food items, and so much more. Some vendors offer free samples so you can taste before you buy. I found some of the best oranges I have ever eaten from here. I've only been here once. I haven't had a chance to return, but I do plan to come back to pick up some more sweet and delicious organic oranges. Thank you Pasadena Farmers Market!

If you want unique and truly delicious straight from Japan come to this store. They had the cutest cookies with cream and fruit but from Japan and not mandatory to refrigerate. They were delicious. The lady there is super nice and helped me pick an even better piece of produce than I did. Store is clean, and siesta looks good. The bogo is great! Take advantage of that. Oh and their chips from Asia can't be beat. Unique flavors my 96 year old mom loves! Without a doubt you must buy the green onion pancakes by geemate. They are better than restaurant quality. My husband never eats the ones at restaurants but really liked these. These can't be found everywhere either!

I was particularly interested in a Facebook article about Japanese Milk Tea Ice Cream. I spoke to the store owner and he showed me what Ice Cream he stocks. He indicated it was not Milk Tea however, and I guess I misread the article. Other items of interest included many Hello Kitty items, slices of quality beef, Japanese vegetables and spices and many packaged goods from Japan. The store is so neat and everything has its place within the store. I felt I was in someone's home, so I was cautious about what I touched. Overall, this market has its place in the San Gabriel Valley, as the catering of Japanese goods helps maintain the customs of Japan and allows those Issei pioneers to maintain their lifestyle.

There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is open and available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was here in this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is pretty big. Lots of parking spots for you to choose from. This small, family owned supermarket doesn't get busy, so you shouldn't have a problem with parking. The spots are also pretty big. Establishment: The establishment itself is very clean, neat, tidy, and organized. The aisles are wide too. You have a variety of fresh fruits and veggies to choose from. They also have a cute and small bakery inside the grocery store. A favorite of mine is their banana cream pie. Their coconut cream pie is dope too. They have a very nice fresh produce, deli, meat and seafood section. Staff: The staff here are very kind, friendly, and helpful. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.
