Normally there is a teller at the counter, but today, no one. Two admins sitting at their desks, one possibly doing an orientation with someone. I was greeted with a "Welcome, someone will be with you shortly." There I stood for what seemed like forever, but it was only about 4 minutes. Finally a teller came out of the vault area to wait on me. Soon the line grew to 4 customers waiting to be served. Finally, an admin got up and opened a window and then another teller returned from a break. It definitely wasn't like the old days when they were here to serve the clients. This bank has been such a headache for my business. The staff is great - so I'm not throwing shade on the kind people who do their jobs the best they can. Some of The policies of the bank are very frustrating. Today, even though all the money was in the account, they would deny my purchase so they can text to confirm. I know this policy so I called and asked can they approve the purchase so I don't have to be embarrassed and denied. The staff wasn't able meet my request. I'm not mad at the policy as I signed up at this bank, but the fact they could not accommodate my simple request (this is not the first time I have been denied when my money is sitting in the bank FULLY CLEARED) has led me to this decision. If you are accustomed to the convinces of a modern bank, then this bank is not for you. read more

Devalyn would not let me leave her desk or the bank, until she was completely sure, that l was completely satisfied. She went beyond her duty my conferencing with her l.T. Department, helping me understand, on how to use my Samsung phone. Did l mention that l was her main focus for 90 minutes, Plus. I keep on putting in the wrong pass word into my phone, without her getting upset. You would think that this 76 year old guy, would have all the answers, for everything in this World! Nope, not when it comes to "Dumb Phones". In all sincerity, my laptop was compromised about 30 days ago and this same girl had my back. From shutting down my on-line banking to making sure my money was safe, right to the point of helping me today, It's not the size of company, that makes good things happen. It's the people, the Back Bone, the people that want to see a smile on their customers face, before they leave their counter.....l really appreciated the Fact that Provident was protecting every penny that had in the back. I would think, that others would also cherish these Strong Ethics, and before leaving the bank would also say, "Thank You For Watching Over My Money". We needed to establish a business account. We needed an EIN and specific details for the state of California. Claudia walked us through each of the scary complicated steps. She double checked everything as she typed into the computer. Then she printed everything and we all checked everything again. The entire process took at least an hour of her time. She was never in a hurry. She was always more than gracious and made sure we understood everything. PROFESSIONAL. As good as it gets! DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT A CARING, COMPASSIONATE BANK. My precious husband opened an account there in mid 2020. Unfortunately and with great sadness I had to go and close it out. He recently passed away. I went in there and was not prepared for the absolutely coldness, rudeness, and compassionately challenged individuals I met. Not to mention they were being overly outward about the correct wearing of a mask. Yet the senior citizen man, which I am also a senior, who came in after me had his mask below his chin - nothing was said. I guess being a self employed, woman is not up to the Provident standards. I gave them my husbands death certificate, identified myself as the wife, and what needed to be done. NOT ONE TIME did anyone say, 'I'm so sorry for your loss, let me help you." No things did not go smoothly, but..........they could of been nicer and said - unfortunately our bank policy is this. This is what you need to do. I will be glad to help you then. NOPE - not at this bank. It only got worse from there. RUDE, COLD, LACKING COMPASSION AND FRIENDLINESS. They have a sign up in their bank that says, COMMUNITY BANK!!! Really??? With customer service being a dying art these days, It was really refreshing when I happen upon Provident Bank in Hemet, Ca. I was really not sure if I wanted to bank with Provident because they only service the Riverside County area. I opened an account and I am very happy I did. The customer service is above and beyond. There is always a friendly face and lots of smiles. All of the bankers are very nice, however, one of my favorites is Liseth Corona, who is a Customer Service Rep. Liseth, greats me with a smile and is so professional, as they all are. I think all should visit our local Provident Bank, and feel the love. Completely appalled by this bank and the customer service in it! I can make this a long story but in the interest of time I will keep it short. Two weeks before my father passed away, he signed a letter stating he wanted to close his account (he knew his time was limited) and have the $300 send via a check to his home there are witnesses to this account. He was bedridden and the time of signing so of course his signature isn't going to be as crisp as it would be had he been sitting at a table in good health. The next coming weeks he passed from lung cancer. I was tying up loose ends as his executor and called the bank. I informed them he had passed and asked when they'd be sending the check. They state they never received the letter. Funny how my bill payments always make it to their destination but when somone is looking for THEIR money a letter gets lost. I send another copy of the letter, this time certified return receipt. I call again and ask why I haven't heard from them. They continue to tell me that, and I am paraprasing here, that they don't believe he signed the letter because the signature was different and that now that he has passed they can't send the money because they have no proof that he sent the letter. For one it's $300, not $3,000, two, they did get a letter dated BEFORE his death, 3, the check would have been made in his name NOT mine therefore allowing me to deposit into his account. There is NO reason to not send a check. My father did what he knew needed to be done before he passed dotting the i's and crossing the t's only to be rolling in his grave pissed that these people are incompentant and playing dirty tricks.
