Citibank - Banks & Credit Unions Near Me - Hemet, California

I have been a Citibank customer for over 6 months i finally decided to switch my job payroll deposits from a prepaid card to my account well in the process of doing that my job gave me a paper check so i deposited it into my account. They then sent a email saying a hold would be placed which is fine. I go to go visit my child in the nicu and my card declines for gas when I had money in there not including the funds for the check they are holding. I call and they tell me my account is under review because I deposited a payroll check. So I ask why is all of my funds being held and they give me no explanation. I'm a single mom and I have kids this is so wrong an unacceptable. I followed back up and now they are saying my account is closed. This is so wrong and it feels like I am being punished because my job choose to pay me by paper check. I wish u had the option of zero stars if you are thinking of banking with them please don't. DO YOUR RESEARCH AND GOOGLE CITIBANK CLOSED MY ACCOUNT AND YOU WILL SEE THAT THEY DO THIS TO PEOPLE ALL THE TIME FOR NO REASON AT ALL. I've bank with this bank for over 15 yrs and it's time to definitely change!!! You can never get a customer service rep to speak proper English it's so hard to understand them you can't make out crap they are saying then when your trying to get help they don't know what they are doing or don't know what your talking about (BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW THE LANGUAGE ) . My main problem with this bank is they never and I mean never answer the phone....I understand there are other customers who they are probably working with, but not ALL DAY. Another problem with Citibank is calling them direct. They ask your debit card number,which I don't have a debit card and don't want one. Then they want your account number, which I don't have...if you can't answer those questions, they want your social security number...keep in mind if you can't answer the robots questions, you aren't getting into anyone, when all I wanted when I called was information about the bank, savings, checking accounts, CD's. I bank with citi bank and will be changing banks I've banked with different banks before and this is the worse bank ever I received a settlement and deposit it into my bank and a couple days later the blocked my account because they said it was a fake check and need to contact my lawyer which was fine with me and it wasn't fake so they released the investigation that had me so I went into the bank to pull out some money and the bank teller ask me why I got the check and where did I get the check I told her it wasn't any of her business which it isn't and she gave me my money and told me for and then told me next you need to call the bank to let them know I need to pull out a large amount of money out my bank account never ever have I heard such a thing read more

Seriously the worst bank! I went to cash a check here that someone wrote to me, and I don't have an account with them. Instead of asking for ID they took the check in the back and had a long talk and came back and told me the person who wrote the check needs to call them directly to varrify it in order for them to cash it for me.. I had a long text conversation with the person and told them what the bank said.. Which caused some negative feelings to happen. Then after they spoke with the bank and varrified the check, they then made me give them my social security number along with my occupation and why they wrote me the check and give them several forms of ID.. I have never had to do so much background check with a bank just to cash a check.. Worst experience ever !! And the bank told them that the request to cash the check seems suspicious .. Now THATS going above and beyond. Too bad thats not my normal bank. I was in a different area at that time. I don't understand why they have bad reviews. I am currently a customer at Citi Bank. The branch staff are very nice and helpful but, the customer service support line are extremely unhelpful and unknowledgeable. The company outsourced there call center in Guatemala. There English is horrible. I speak Spanish but why should I have to speak Spanish. I recently had a non sufficient charge that I didn't understand what you they charged me. So, I called to find out and this representative named Carlos tells me that he see's a charge made out to NSF. I had to educate him on something he should have known. NSF stands for non sufficient fund fee. And this is where I'm supposed to trust my money in. When I try to have them prove charges on my account because it doesn't add up. The supposed supervisor threatens to hang up on me. At this point I'm closing my account with them. read more

I bank with two different banks, but I can see the difference in Customer Service with Citibank. They are so friendly and willing to help you. I was helped by Norma today and she untangled my two different accounts, straightened up my online banking with both, and helped me get set up with Zelle so that I can easily transfer money. She was very patient and walked me through everything, step by step. I couldn't ask for a more helpful person than her. Thank you Norma! This is the absolute worst bank. The manager Ramon A. displayed horrible customer service. After four months of trying to open an account my partner finally went in to the branch. When my partner went in and asked for service she was denied service. She calmly asked for help and was threatened by the Manager. He used his physical presence to intimidate her. He then threatened to call security. We will make sure to contact the BBB and as well as the consumer protection agency. This is so upsetting and I will never bank with Citi Bank. read more

The ATM has a screen for when it can no longer dispense cash. Good. Over a five-day period, I withdrew cash on three occasions. Good. Another time the screen said I had a $0.00 balance in both checking and savings but then printed out a reciept (without dispensing any cash) that showed a balance larger than the amount I requested. On yet another day, the ATM - again - told me I had a $0.00 balance in both checking and savings and - again - printed a reciept with a balance larger than what I requested but dispensed no money. Security at my credit union called to verify that it was me who requested cash and the ATM refused to comply. They could see my balance and there was no reason for the ATM to refuse my request. The next business day I went into the bank to ask what the ATM screen was trying to tell me because it wasn't out of cash (or the screen would have said so) and my card was good (according to my credit union). The teller and the manager were not knowledgeable about their own ATM and didn't care what was on the screen since it was not their bankcard. The tone of voice clearly implied that I should get lost - I wasn't a CitiBank customer - although paying a fee to use their ATM made me a customer. Their suggestion was to try another ATM. As I left the bank I tried the ATM and it dispensed cash. I still don't know why the screen showed a $0.00 balance on other days and refused to dispense cash. Not a happy camper. read more

This is seriously the worst citibank ever!! We've had so many problems here we've decided to drive to Beaumont. First, we went in to put my name on my husbands bank account, so a joint account. The lady, Amanda Hope was so rude!! I bit my tongue the whole time. So then, we came in and asked for some checks so my work can do a direct deposit. I needed some with my name on it as well and we let the bank teller know that. We waited 2 weeks for the checks & when we received them, they only had my husbands name. Again, we went to citibank and asked for the checks to have my name on them.. weve been waiting weeks for them..and they still havent shown up. My husband needed a new card, we walked in and they gave my husband another one..ok no big deal. My husband lost that card so we walked in and they gave him a different one with a different number. That was okay too..but then when he lost it again, he requested a new card, but the new card had the first cards number on it..so everything got mixed up. Ive had it with this bank..the people there dont know what theyre doing whatsoever!!! We're fed up at this point that we're thinking about closing the account and taking our business elsewhere, maybe Chase. read more

Promotions are deceptive. The Hemet office was friendly and as helpful as they could be, but Corporate sets the rules. Don't fall for their checking account promotion offers unless you read every single word of the fine print. I have been a good customer of Citibank for over 3 years. They sent me an invitation to open a checking account and perform a few functions for a promotional offer of airline points. One of the requirements was to pay bills for 2 consecutive months electronically. I did that however, I didn't read all the fine print closely enough (my bad) and the second payment was made through the utility and not through the bank website. When I initially opened the account at the branch it took well over an hour because they had no idea what the offer was, let alone instruct me on what the requirements were other than spend a certain amount on the debit card and make 2 consecutive monthly payments to a vendor. After completing the requirements (I thought) I called and asked when I could expect the mileage credit, I was told it looked like the requirements had been met, but the mileage would not be posted for 90 days. After 90 days I checked and was told I didn't meet all of the requirements because I didn't use their site to initiate the 2nd bill payment. I appealed twice, was turned down, then told to contact the branch. I went in and they said they would look into it and let me know in 7-10 days. After 2 weeks, I called the branch and they said there was nothing that could be done. Needless to say I am very disappointed. I received .01% interest instead of the over 1% interest I had been earning with the money. I won't be using CitiBank again. read more

always having problem with either the people over the phone or the automated service.the automated service asks me questions and I put in the answers, then it says I answered them wrong. Have to wait on hold forever to transfer money, sometimes they don't know that accounts are linked when they are, endless issues with Citibank, would never refer them and would recommend to never use Citibank.
