Awful expierence. Do not come here. I not only waiting for close to an hour but I went in for pedicure, full set and eyebrows. The nails were fine. Nothing special, a few areas were not completely painted. But my eyebrows! Elaine did my eyebrows. She started on one and then walked out of the room too help someone else and had me sitting there waiting for a few minutes. When she returned she kept doing them in a hurry. When she was done i looked in the mirror. Not only had she given my eyebrows a different shape but she took off a piece of my actual eyebrow!!!!! The picture does not show the severity. Then when i called her out. She said she wouldn't charge me. What does that help with?? The good-I'm vacationing here and I got right in when they opened, and she did an okay job on my fill. The bad-my nail artist wouldn't make conversation with me, though I tried. She did carry on with her coworkers in Vietnamese throughout my visit, even calling her coworker over to talk about my old nail job. She chipped a corner of one nail when almost finished, then denied it. I just wanted to get out so asked her to at least file it. They are good at getting in walk-ins, to the detriment of those still in the salon. I felt I had a very rushed job so they could accommodate more clients quickly. read more

I got a pedicure by the male employee and it was the worst pedicure I have ever gotten. First, he was being very harsh and he took of a CHUNK of skin and he proceeded by putting glue on top of it. He continued to be very harsh and continued to put layers of glue. When he noticed it was hurting he puts acetone around the cut to take off the excess glue which burned!!!!! To top it off it was so unsanitary, the whole time I was bleeding and him wiping off the blood he was not even wearing gloves. At the end, he was SCRATCHING off the excess glue WITH THIS NAILS and I told him it was fine and he continued to do it. When I told the lady I was not paying full price for it she reduced it by $5 dollars and I told her I was not gonna pay only 5 dollars less she continued to argue about it. (See picture!!) read more

If you care about getting the best set of nails with insults & no apology, then this place is meant for you. I am never, never, never going back there again. They ask personal questions then insult you by putting you down. My father had just died a day ago & they said, "Too bad." Later she asks, "Are you married?" While looking right at my wedding ring! And later she asks, "You have any children?" I told her no to which she says, "Why not? You no like children?" I said I survived ovarian cancer. She didn't understand what that was. I came in on memorial day at 5:30pm, I needed to wait about 20 minutes. The woman who greeted me was polite and told me I could sit and relax in a pedicure chair and utilize the back massage option. As soon as a gal became available to provide my pedicure and manicure service, she promptly came over and started to soak my feet while she cleaned her utensils and prepared her supplies. She was extremely detail oriented with both my services and the French pedi paint job was on point. I work in a salon and I was very pleased with the cleanliness and experience of this salon. I visited this nail salon today for what I thought was an idiot proof job (to remove an old acrylic set) and I can't stress enough how much I regret giving this place a chance to do even this small task. I walked in, waited for 10 minutes before being helped. An older lady started filing down my nails and then asked me to wait and soak which is pretty standard. For the next 45-50 minutes she completely ignored me as she worked on a pedicure for someone who arrived after me. Not once did she bother to check on me. Finally I asked if she could finish me up because I needed to leave. Rather than answering my question, she spoke to one of the other nail ladies in their native language. Here is where it became unacceptable: After another 10 minutes of waiting, the rude lady at the front walked over to me grabbed my wrist aggressively and tried to pull me toward her station as she mumbled that she would help me. Angered, I pulled my hand away and told her I knew how to walk. At her station, she started filing at my nails very aggresively so I asked her to file gently as my nails were very thin. She then does one quick pass back and fourth on every nail to get a bit of the acrylic off my nails and tells me she is done. Let me describe her idea of done: my fingers were covered in acrylic residue from having soaked, I could still see acrylic clumps on my nails, and all my nails were different lenghths and shapes!!!! I'm disbelief that she would consider this appropriate. I then asked her to remove more of the acrylic and even out my nails. She did a tiny bit more and walked to the resister to indicate that she was ready for payment. I gave her my card, but refused to sign until she cleaned up my acrylic covered fingers and evened out my nails to which she answered "it will come off in the shower!". I looked at her in disbelief and said "no I need my nails done properly and fingers cleaned". She then said something to the original lady who was helping me, who finally did clean up my hands and buffed my nails appropriately. Only at that point did I sign the receipt. Oh and get this, the lady who harrassed me was the OWNER!!!!! Never would I have thought this was going to take over an hour, nor that I would be treated in such an unprofessional manner!!! DO NOT GO HERE! I would give negative stars if I could. read more

I made an appointment a day before my wedding day, so I pretty excited to get beautiful nails for my special day, but instead I got such a bad experience that almost made me cry! I would give zero stars if possible! I am so mad ! I went there with my friend. We both got full sets.. while I was getting the fake nail glued on, I couldnt help but notice it was glued on wrong. It was so Crooked the women next to me was laughing. I brought it up to the tech who was doing my nails and the tech said it was my finger.. uhmmm ?! I have been getting acrylics for over 10 years. I know that it never NEVER looks like that and on top of that, I know my fingers are not crooked. I asked the tech to remove the nail and please redo it. He got mad and stormed off. He eventually came back and glued on a new one. Let me remind you that it was straight ! So I guess my finger magically went back to normal.. anyway, time passed.. I am about finished now, I wash my hands and as I am drying them my nail was sticking to the towel. I went to the tech who did my nails and explained to him that my nails are too sticky, this isn't right. I look at my fingers and now they look like I dipped them in white glue. As he's talking to me I run to the sink and tried scrubbing it off with warm water, soap, and a brush. It's not coming off. I went back to him and he puts alcohol on it trying to remove it. Most of it comes off. I am with my friend now and she complains that two her nails are crooked and the tech then tells her that it isn't her fault, it's my friends fingers. I said I why not just fix it other than argue and place blame.. she fixes it.. I guess my friends nails magically went back to normal as well?! As we were paying and walking out I over heard two other clients complaining that their nails were crooked and one's set was still sticky. This was a week ago. 4 days after having them the were popping off. Today, 4 popped off while I picked up my book. THAT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN ! I have NEVER EVER had an issue like this before. So overall HORRIBLE customer service and service . Don't even bother !!! They use cheap product as well! Seriously just go somewhere else! read more

I have never been here and I came to try it out because it was in town. I was asked by the younger woman (she's the youngest who was talking to customers) To come back in an hour and she would make it an appt because they were busy at that time. No problem- I came back, and still waited another hour even though the lady kept saying 10 more minutes. When I had checked in with her about being realistic about time frames she asked if I had an appt, when I had just literally talked to her. I ended up leaving. It's official. I don't think I can ever like Protop Nails. I've tried this place a few times in a pinch and even after the management changed I still don't feel great about going there. They do the standard stuff for more money that what I've seen at other places. I'm a pedicure kind of girl and their pedicures just do not last. After 3 days my toenails had started to chip. 3 days?? I wasn't playing barefoot soccer or kicking rocks around! Come on! The waxer here is also inconsistent. I started going here before I moved to San Jose and my eyebrows always looked different every time I went. Either too short or too thin, and even if I explained what I wanted I never got it. The only reason I would go here is if I were to get a full set done by Ethan. He is the manager of the salon and is very courteous and is never pushy. He does a great job on nails, is easy to understand, and will listen to any concerns that you may have. He is a favorite in the salon so make an appointment ahead of time to see him. . read more
