This is a review of one of ProTec's inspector's, rather than ProTec itself. Chris Jackson, moonlighting for his own company, CJ's Solid Foundations, came out and provided a pretty lazy inspection. My realtor recommended him. Said he really liked him. Said he wasn't one of these guys who just took a short class at the technical center and how fancies himself a home inspector. He was a nice guy. He does seem to have ample experience. But I don't think I got anything better than I would have gotten from the guy fresh out of training. Chris's assistant did most of the work. His assistant was a nice guy, but obviously very green. His work seemed fairly perfunctory. Chris showed up after the inspection started and mostly stood around yucking it up with my real estate agent. Toward the very end, he got out his ladder. He climbed about halfway up, peaked at the roof for about 30 seconds. And thus concluded the inspection of the roof. His report said it was either too dangerous to climb on the roof or that maybe he would have damaged the roof too much. I think both of those excuses are hogwash. And besides, he only looked at one side of the roof. It isn't clear yet how bad the inspection was. But it was clearly a very lazy effort. read more

I just bought a brand new house and got a Protech inspection done by the guys, I paid for the full inspection which literally took about four hours for the whole thing. I had such an extensive detailed print out of every issue of the house so moving forward we know everything that needs repaired. The home buying process during this Covid-19 epidemic has been stressful as all get out. There's no inventory, homes are flying off the shelf, and it took us forever to find the perfect home. Dave came out to inspect a new home that I was considering buying. Dave was courteous, on time and friendly and while he walked through the home he took his time and pointed out issues/concerns but also explained patiently why certain things could be a problem in the future. UNRELIABLE--BAD INSPECTION--WILL NOT RESPOND--DO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACTIONS I Do not recommend using this inspection company. After paying for my inspection, and writing off that everything was okay, I had emailed my inspector Chris Jackson with a few concerns and he never got back to me. Then, two days after I close on my apartment, I walk in to find A LEAK AND MY FLOOR BOARDS LIFTING!!! I call protec, they tell me to call their warranty, and the warranty is ABSURD! they find every excuse in the book to deny you any help. Then they told me the leak isn't their problem because it's coming from the convector where my heat and ac come from. They inspected my apartment and didn't notice that a pipe was about to leak?!!! Do you think this is good service?? So now I'm stuck with a bill that I have to cover because Chris Jackson didn't do his job correctly, and ProTec warranty is a joke. Awesome. I've attached photos. Please take a look. I can't believe I wasted money on this service. Useless!! Apparently there are other negative reviews about Chris too. Go figure. read more

Don't recommend them! We had a throbbed experience with our home inspection. Apparently they find it fit it change their policies but not to notify or to add the change to their contract. After closing our home we ended up with multiple plumbing issues, which were never reported in the inspection. We reached out to the company but the customer service was terrible and rude. All they said was " our policies changed and it's not our fault that 3 of your toilets are leaking and don't work ". We asked why they weren't inspected and all they mentioned they don't inspect if the water is turned off, which is not listed anywhere in the report so we would have never known that the toilets were not inspected. We lost about $500 due to a faulty inspection which was overpriced in the first place! read more

I did some of my homework and had an idea what to expect, but he took the time to explain those things that were foreign to me. Finding reliable service is always a concern. A Realtor friend of mine recommended ProTec and I was not disappointed. Ryan was our tech...very friendly, knowledgeable, communicative and prompt in turning around the detailed inspection report. My brother and I now know what items to tackle in returning our father's home to a more well-maintained dwelling for him in his later years. She asked a few questions about the inspection process and sent over a quote within the hour and made me feel at peace. Before the inspection, I received text messages to inquire if I preferred to be reached out to by email or text and after choosing the latter, was given text message updates and answers to any questions I sent. During the inspection, the inspector arrived a few minutes early was very courteous and helpful in his explanations, doing an excellent and thorough job on site.
