Fun Fact: Prost in Highlands Ranch not only serves up great German beers, but they also offer cocktails, nonalcoholic drinks, and food. I finally made it down south to check out this sprawling Biergarten, and I'm so glad I did. High ceilings, two patio areas, and plenty of inside seating make for a great destination to grab a beer and hang out for a bit. I drank a malty Dunkel (5.6% ABV) with foam for days. Among the appetizers, the big pretzel is a very good choice: I had the pretzel bites since I ordered a burger which was just average, I should have gone with one of the sausages instead. They looked very appetizing! The flight of beers was decent, lots of good choices. Service is ok. You go to the counter, you order what you want, you pay, they give you a pager/locator and you sit waiting for the food to come. When they brought my food, I asked for some ketchup but the server told me that I had to go inside and get the ketchup myself! That, despite me tipping when I paid BEFORE I got my food. First, let me state that I have been coming to Prost pretty regularly for the last couple of years. Today I felt compelled to write the view review that I've been holding back on. The good: service, beer and food! The Hefeweizen and the wursts are really quite good. I've never had any issue with the service. Always quick and friendly. 5 stars for these. The bad: NOISE! The daycare ambiance outside and the echo-chamber inside is supremely off-putting. Suggestion: If you must allow large groups of seemingly unattended screaming children, consider having a special area for them away from adults. As for the interior, put in some sound deadening panels around the interior walls. Both of these suggestions would make a considerably more enjoyable experience for most of your age 40+ patrons. 1 star for this. So, I'll average it to 3 stars. I hope the owners consider these suggestions. This is a good place that could be great! read more

Fun atmosphere and good food. We went after work to celebrate one of our ladies leaving the area and her last day. We sampled several of the appetizers and they were all very good. I tried the potatoes and pretzel with mustard. I could not get enough of the mustard. I don't eat pork but everyone raves about the sausage. It did smell delicious. read more

Prost is such a great spot -- awesome food, great beer, and the most fantastic margs in town! We love hanging out here with friends and family. But don't look for servers to come around rather you head up to either the bier counter or the food counter (they are seperate) and order drinks / food and pick them up yourself. I would give them a 5 except for a couple things. (Pricing & Seating). They have unfortunately priced their food at least $5 per dish too high for the biergarten theme and portions they are using. And if they were to add an inexpensive traditional brötchen+wurstchen mit scharfe senf dish that would really help. They do have some TVs to watch fuẞball / soccer, but they need to have more TVs and much more/better game day seating for German or USA Team games. They would also benefit from having a few game days specials on food as their menu is sparse when it comes to German bar food at a reasonable price ... Perhaps adding game day Flammkuchen, Pommes mit Currywurst and a Bockwurst mitt Bröt specials that are under $10 for those signature game days (EuroCup, a World Cup, Championship League) would really bring in the fans to pack out the place .... read more

So if you are looking for a classic Biergarten, your look is over. Prost Brewing Company in Highlands Ranch is an amazing German-style Biergarten that lives up to all your expectations. We went here and were very pleased with the beer and most of the food. I ordered the Knockwurst. This was a delicious sausage. The snap of the casing and the perfect cook on it was amazing. I liked the flavor of the sausage, but I think I would get it without the bun next time which is an option. It was served with sauerkraut and classic german style mustard, along with a small side of coleslaw. My wife ordered the sliders which were pretty good but did have an interesting sauce that we were not familiar with on them that overpowered a lot of the flavor. I tried them as well and thought that the sauce was different. The beer was delicious and serve in big German-style beer steins. Prost has become a go-to hangout spot for us out here in the 'burbs. Whether we snag a picnic table in the biergarten to listen to the live polka band or hang out inside the spacious beer hall, it's always a good time and family friend to boot (a pro or con depending on who you are because kids are often running around everywhere on the weekends). For drinks, there's lots of delicious beer on tap, but also wine and cocktails (even frozen ones!) for those that aren't looking for beer. There's an above par food menu with traditional German faves that are great for snacking or having a full meal. Some of my favorite things to eat are the pretzel, sausages, and spaetzle. I love that you can order at the counter but don't have to wait around and instead, they'll bring it to your table. They have various events throughout the year and live music quite often! I love their German food. I've had a couple different "wursts" and their pretzel. Yummy I love their beer selection. They're reasonably priced and tasty. (I haven't tried their IPAs as I generally don't like IPAs.) Their indoor seating is plentiful but basic. Same for their outside seating, which comes with misty water for those hot days. Service is friendly and quick, behind the bar or bringing food to the table. Unfortunately, since they stopped serving flatbread pizza, I probably won't be going back again. Love good beer and snacks so we had to stop by on a Saturday afternoon to check it out. We arrived shortly after noon and it was busy, but we there's plenty of seating inside and outside, so we had no issue finding a table to sit at. We started off with beer and since there's a great variety and we were intrigued by a few options, we opted for flights. The beers were great and the bartenders were also super friendly. For food we tried the fingerling smashers, a pretzel, and a basket of fries. The food came out quickly and hot and fresh. I have had Prost beer but never hit up one of their locations until today -- a Friday at lunchtime. It was busy but not packed, although people were trickling in as we approached 1 p.m. My friend said it gets super crowded/busy on the weekends because it's such a cool place for the area. This place is gorgeous and structured really nicely. There's a big outdoor patio with a stage (where an adorable 4-year-old and her dad were doing a cute dance), and inside there are tables, booths and long tables and benches -- biergarten style! You can order food at one counter and beer at another. I couldn't decide between all the yummy items on the menu but the helpful guy at the counter advised me (and alerted me to the pretzel bites side dish option). I had the potato cakes which were good but very greasy. A friend had the Reuben and loved it (it looked great); others had the lemon chicken salad, which they liked although they said they didn't taste a lot of lemon. For a group starter we had the smashed fingerlings which were addictively delish. I had a Märzen, which was on point, but they have lots of options and several options for sizing, from a taster to .25L to .5L and 1 L. I've decided no brewery... no matter how amazing their beer is... will ever get above 3 stars from me anymore. Drinking establishments are no longer sacred places for adult fun and gatherings. Every brewery has now become a place for birthers to bring their spawn to run around screaming while we all try to enjoy drinks. I have been here a few times now, and I think it's one of the best beer gardens in the area. It has a large indoor and outdoor space. There are games available, kids are (apparently) welcome to run around and have fun, and the beer selection is good. I really enjoy the radler and the saison. I prefer lighter, easy-to-drink beers, so I can't comment on the heavier options like the stout, ipa, etc. The staff is very friendly. When it's closing time, they politely ask you to close out and start wrapping up. They don't just say, "Time to go!" and kick you out. read more

Walked in around 8:40 and we were looking at the menu and trying to decide what to order when they turned out all the overhead lights and said they were closing the kitchen. It was very hard to see the menu and I felt very unwanted. Restaurants like this that make their clients uncomfortable because they want to leave early make customer service a thing of the past. We stopped by Prost after a hike and it was just what we needed! To drink, I had the radler and my husband had the winter lager and both were good! Then we shared the pretzel, fries, and the jalapeño cheddar sausage. Everything was delicious and the fondue that came with the pretzel was a nice touch. We also brought our pups with us and the staff were so dog friendly! They brought out water and every time they came by they gave the pups treats. I have been to PROST countless times and it is one of the most reliable places in the highlands. The beer is always good, they always have mixed drinks or cocktails available, and the service is always a 10/10. I had yet to review PROST because I had not had the food yet and this past weekend we got some pretzel bites and sliders and both were so good! I am excited to go back and try some of the more German centric fare! The sliders while flat looking in the photo had so much flavor! They had that perfect grilled beef flavor that you always want in a burger. And the pretzel bites were honestly perfect. Warm and buttery with the perfect amount of salt to add that little tang to your tongue. And the beer cheese and whole grain mustard were the ideal accompaniments. Thinks a really cool place BUT it is way to loud, there is zero sound absorption. Everything is hard surface, floor walls and ceiling. It is an absolute cacophony, reaching dangerous levels. The SPL levels recorded are very high. The lowest recorded is 87! See pics. The music is unintelligible and only drives the conversation levels up. This is a beautiful place with a ton of money invested, sound control is a huge miss. Do not use that restaurant designer in the future... Anyone in management walks through here can hear it, you know. It is an aural assault. A comfortable environment keeps people coming back and they stay longer. I was such a big fan of Prost. On Facebook I have the top follower. . .but the way things went today I'm avoiding both. But you should avoid it. Unless you ready to box for a position in line, pick the right line, and be okay with everyone else being served in front of you. At the very least pick a line in the middle because if you don't they will skip you everytime without a care. Go to a brewery that has it figured out how to serve people Look I know its covid, or post covid, and you will be busy. So I guess no table service. . .I can live with that. Yet when you go up to the line (there are two lines) and get behind someone. Then more people show up. They look right at you and open a new line, and say "next" to the person behind the other line and keep doing it and doing it when they served the 5th person while I was waiting for the slowest dude and/or bar person in the world. All 5 came after me (not coutning the 1 person who was there right before me). We are talking I got in line when there was 3 people and they served 6 and IGNORED ME I didn't do anything. I wasn't being obnoxious. I didn't even say anything. I just grabbed my kids and left. No beers. No food. No return. Look I love good beers. . .but if a restaurant can't have the decency to even try to take people in order and make me wait. . .for no reason. Well this long time customer is done. We weren't sure what to expect when we first went to Prost Brewing but we're very impressed and have been back multiple times since. It is setup like a German Beer Hall with rows and rows of long picnic tables. Beer is ordered from the bar and is all amazing. There is a separate stall for food which is a twist on traditional German food. I had the schnitzel sandwich and subbed fries for pretzel bites with the beer cheese. All of it was amazing. My wife went with the more traditional brats with sauerkraut, which she really enjoyed. She also ordered a side of fries with the curry ketchup. Some of the best curry ketchup we've had. It was very smooth and the curry flavor was not overwhelming or gritty. They have a good patio with live music at times. Having been to the other Prost locations this one was GORGEOUS! The inside is very close to German beer halls in Bavaria I have been to and very airy. The place has immaculate design and a really great decor. The staff is absolutely friendly, warm and engaging. The beer tending staff really make the experience nice and engaging which is always nice. The beer and hard booze selection is solid and the beer is solid quality. I ordered the doner and when compared to actual German doner, it's a great Americanized take on a German staple, which was tasty, flavorful and not too filling! I will say the spaetzel was kind of a miss here, Mac and cheese is just too heavy. Go with noodles and gravy! Besides that beer is tasty and cold and food is quality! Definitely a family friendly place and something to check out if your around, also, being a total sucker for merch they have amazing gear! read more
