Went to this place to see my friend's band play & Max Taps was a very friendly place. Every week they have a different food truck and there's a food truck outside serving Mexican food. It was really good. read more

This place has a great beer list, nice bartenders (Scott is a standout), and a really nice open acoustic jam on Monday nights from 7 to 9 PM. Nice seating and a very nice outdoor patio. read more

Great beer list, pretty solid rotation of food trucks that partner with them. The out side patio in the front is lacking something, it just feels like it was slapped together without any real thought to flow or ambience. Couple times I have been there when the live music started to set up and felt like I was trespassing the way the set up guy hovered until we moved. I want to really like this place but something about it just feels awkward. read more

My wife and dog and I very much enjoy this taproom, and come here maybe three or four times a year for a couple of pints and a meal from their interesting rotation of food trucks. They have a very expansive selection of beers that rotate in and out frequently, so there's always something new to try. They frequently have live music on the weekend. There is a west-facing patio and a north-facing patio, so you can choose sun or shade to suit your preference. The staff is pleasant and friendly. There's no table service - you have to go to the bar to order your drinks. read more

Still my favorite spot to grab a beer in Colorado! Curated local selection that's always rotating, friendly service, love the additions of the ski gondolas for seating. Great merch selection too! read more

Didn't really know how to feel about a mass rap place but this place is pretty awesome. They got a great variety and the owners are pretty amazing. Chill atmosphere and got a nice vibe to have a few drinks and watch the game. They also had a food truck so they do have snacks. read more

Max Taps has an outstanding selection of Colorado local beers on tap, including WeldWerks Juicy Bits, and so far has been the only taproom I've found to carry it. While the inside has limited seating, it offers ample outdoors seating, which is more helpful in the summer months. Additionally, it has plenty of food options available, including food trucks, and my personal favorite- Taste of Philly next door. While it doesn't blow you away, I've been there twice now, and would come back in the future. read more

Loved the wide selection here! Brought our dog and sat on the patio and its was wonderful!

Great place to enjoy tasty Pilsner and Avery IPA and fish and chips from On The Hook Fish and Chips Food truck!

Cool spot, you can bring you dog and it will be treated well. The bartender last night for a bday celebration was amazing (Matt). We will go back to hang out on their great patio. The beer is top notch read more

All that walking at IKEA calls for beers. My group of CO friends love this place so of course we winded up here. This spot reminds me of the breweries I frequented in my hometown of Loudoun County, VA so if felt like being back home. I dig the Colorado breweries-only vibe since you have to represent. Beers of course are excellent. I loved the Graham Cracker Porter. The beer combined with sitting outside in the tent next to the heater gave that campfire feels you can only get in Colorado. No wonder people want to move to this state! The place is dog friendly and they also serves wine, ciders, and some mixed drinks if you don't like beer. I read this place is named after the owners' dog Max who passed. He would be very proud of this place! read more

Max Taps - a glass of beer on a table - Beer Bar Near Me - Highlands Ranch, Colorado

So On The Hook and Max Taps are some smart cookies. Fish and chips and beer. Definitely go together. When i usually go to this food truck it's normally in a strip mall that you have to buy and take home. At least this location you have the option to eat your meal hot a beer or two. The employees of Max Taps are friendly and accommodating. If I lived closer it would definitely be dangerous for me. Haha. But I'll come on the occasionally fish and chips day for sure. read more

I wish they would've posted that this was a "private party" or whatever the employees and there two million children had going on today. Go ahead and be a hater- but I don't come to a bar /brewery to listen to a bunch of poorly behaved children run around with little or no supervision. Clearly everyone here was related to the employees in some way- and whatever- but let the rest of us who just wanted to grab a couple of beers and enjoy the day know there would be a zoo of insane and badly behaving children running around while a bunch of "classy" parents play music where every other word was N****r. Also, these obnoxious kids all got better service than we did. This was a miserable experience. read more

Been here probably over 12 times. They have a lot of beers and they rotate often. With that being said, their beer is barely cold. It's more closer to room temperature than cold. It's not refreshing. And for a place that is all about beer, they really should know how important the temperature is for a refreshing beer. Additionally service is not the best. Often times the bar is ignored while the beer pourer focuses entirely on the line of people that is over on the left side of the bar. If you like a cold refreshing beer, this is not the place. read more

What a great group that works here. Excellent beer too. Waiting on one of the food trucks they have almost daily. read more

While I totally dig the concept of this place (taproom featuring all local brews, wines and liquor!), I found myself completely underwhelmed by this place. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but something felt off. PRO's: + Nice patio for spring and summer days! + Impressive selection of brews/wines/liquors. + Food trucks parked outside! + Location is prime! CON's: - Atmosphere was kind of awkward, jammed full of people, super loud and kind of boring. - Staff seems bombarded and overwhelmed. - Seating isn't really that ample, so a lot people were just standing around. - Minimal decor/style Maybe it was me, or just an off day. Either way, I"ll try again, to give it a fair shot. read more

Venturing outside my usual parts of town for some girl-talk and brews, Kristin M and I made our way to Max Taps for a little Saturday girl-time!. ++ Tons of great Colorado local options for brews, wine, and ciders even! Yay! The taps change frequently - so make sure to check back, as there's bound to be something new. ++ Food trucks parked literally right out front. Sizzle was there during my visit, but other trucks include: Burgersmith, Mile High Cajun, and Ol Skool Que - just to name a few. Check their website for the schedule. ++ Super friendly beertenders! They made great suggestions of brews to try, checked up on us to ensure we were enjoying our selections (or if we were empty), and even brought us a couple tasters to sample! ++ Lots of great events offered including tap takeovers, pairings, and comedy nights!! Fun! While I'm not often in the part of town - I could def see myself coming back for one of the tap takeovers or just to see what new on tap and catch up with friends. Cheers!! **Pro Tip: Try a great beer you think they should serve? Let 'em know!! They're always seeking to add new brews to their already extensive line-up. read more

A great breakfast place great food and friendly staff! I could eat here almost every day.

Max Taps is a great choice of you want a brewery-style atmosphere with the added choices of cocktails and wine. There is plenty of available seating- a main room with bar/taps and secondary room (specifically for those with pups) with tv's and games. Oh, outside seating but it was a tad chilly on our visit. Friendly and attentive staff. Food trucks and live music. I would definitely recommend a visit if you haven't been. We moved to the west side of town and I foresee us stopping by frequently. read more

I will say, I cannot speak to the beer since I'm pregnant at the moment. I plan to partake as soon as I am able. The selection is awesome as an observer. The day I went I was disappointed that the food truck that was supposed to be there was actually at another location when I did some digging on why they were not there. (We had come on a date night and I was hoping to get some food.). I know it's not Max Taps fault if a food truck decides not to be there but it would have been nice if they had updated their website or Instagram with the lack of food. We had been looking forward to having dinner and had to make other arrangements on the fly. The service is ok, although there wasn't any water available to me, and that's all I can drink at this place at the moment. It is a really cool location and the outdoor seating is really great for small and large groups. I don't think my assessment was a normal day of business, however, there should have at least been some water available for those not looking for beer. If I had remembered I would have brought my own water bottle. read more

Great beer selections, bartender was super friendly. My only issue is how dirty the place was. My wife and I love bringing our pup out here to grab a drink and it's always a great experience, especially when there is a tap-takeover.

Ahhh finally! A Colorado inspired tap House bringing beer from all over the great state. This roomy and awesome spot brings beer, wine, and cider from all over the state in an easy to access location with plenty of seating and large bar. Dog friendly and kid friendly (they have Colorado root beer!) They also have a rotating food truck the parks right outside for easy access. Note: this is not a brewery so legally they can not fill growlers. Regardless, their beer selection is great!! 46 beers on tap, a few ciders and sodas as well (Hmm I even saw a kambucha!). read more

The brewery hot-spot down south! Make a trip, you won't regret it. ++Super friendly owners and beer-tenders. They are also very knowledgeable about the beers available on the rotating tap - no easy feat to know about dozens of local breweries and brews. ++Awesome selection of beers to suit all tastes! Bonus that they usually have my favorite brewery on tap - Avery! ++They also have wines and ciders for your friends who don't love beer (who are those friends, anyway?!?) ++Dog friendly patio, year round! ++Good selection of games, including giant connect four. ++Parking: Easy! I went to Max Taps during their Octoberfest opening and was confronted by an obvious racist during a misunderstanding. During this altercation, the man tried to demean me and intimidate me with his buddy over his lack of attention to the numerous bar lines that opened. He cut in front of me but not the 3 men who were in front of me and led the change in lines. He then tried to act like it was me who was in the wrong and then challenged me to a fight. Out of everyone he could have been mad at, it had to be me. The only person of color in that entire bar. Who in their right mind cuts a stranger in a bar line and then proceeds to argue and try to fight over it? Would he do that in Denver, a more diverse place? Probably not, for as we all know, Denver isnt the best place to mess around. I am a former USMC machine gunner with 2 combat deployments. If I wanted to cause havoc, I could have certainly done it. But I am disciplined and tired of violence. All I wanted was a beer and to sit down and read in peace. You fight in a war for this country and people will still look down on you as a brown man. But what can I expect out of Highlands Ranch. The staff did nothing but watched this drunk man mean mug and try to fight with me. They didn't cut him off; they didn't correct him; they just let him do his thing, which was staring at me from 10 ft away while I tried to grab a beer. They made me feel uncomfortable, and I will never go back. read more

I have to admit I have a very different mixed review between the two max tap locations. The highlands ranch location is very established and actively serving their guests! They have people out and about - but it's very popular! The new location in centennial is struggling! Having been a follower of the previous business know it's hard to get off the ground. BUT just because there are customers please stop over serving and making judgment on older patrons. read more

Love the beer selection. I had been looking forward to trying this place for a while. Great environment but was perplexed by the staff. Not overly crowded but the two bartenders were not very attentive. We were there for three hours with repeated moments of my table's glasses and other tables glasses empty. Staff would disappear in back for awkward periods of time. Not sure what was going on. I'd suggest management get that corrected as that was frustrating enough for me to question going back even though the pricing and beer selection was great. Photo is during peak hours and no bartenders around. read more

Great selections, always have new and hard to get craft beers. Good atmosphere to sit with friends, or meet new friends and have a few beers. Right off 470 so close to everything in HR. What an awesome tap house! These guys know beer. They always have a really great selection. There's something for everyone, even wine drinkers and designated drivers (or kids). The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I don't even actually have to check the tap list anymore, I just tell Gary to pick a beer for me and he never disappoints.
