We went in for a beer on a Saturday afternoon. It was quite except for a group hosting a silent auction. We never learned anything about it. The place is comfortable with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Despite being on the very busy County Line Rd they use music really well to make the noise disappear. The selection is outstanding. The guy helping us behind the bar was helpful and knew a lot. It's definitely worth checking out. read more

A really nice spot that would be on my way home from work. My husband and I dropped in on a Friday afternoon. The servers were friendly and knew their beer! I decided on the second one that I sampled, so nice that they let you have a sample in mini mugs! My husband tried several, and first had a smoky ale that was very good, reminded me of smoked almonds. He tried some other Belgian types and a dark lager. All were good. I stuck with my second amber ale, just one beer is all I can handle, but it was really good. I would go back here. They have different food trucks outside each evening. The food truck chefs drop off a menu in case you want food to go with the beer. So, I would bring someone from out of town here to try Colorado beers. It's casual, there are a few TV's. I could see hanging out for awhile. I might need to bring a cushion, the chairs are a little hard if you plan to stay for a long time! read more

Came for a lazy Saturday round of beers and had a great time hanging with our pups. They have a totally separate back room for people with dogs, which is great for dog owners and also great for people who don't like dogs! A win-win. It also provides built-in conversations, since all the people with dogs are clustered in one place and can therefore talk all about their mutts :) Dogs are a great conversation starter and beer is a great social lubricant, so it's not hard to make new friends! Max Taps has a wonderfully curated selection of taps, and it was hard choosing what I wanted to drink. I was feeling the hops, so I made sure E was driving and splurged on a couple of Avery's Hog Heaven (a 9.2% Imperial Red IPA). The tap room has a very modern, spartan feel - not the coziest place I've been to, but okay for beer drinking. There is table service, which is nice for people who can't bring their dogs to the main bar to order, and our server brought a bowl of water for each table of dogs (there were about 3-4 other dogs that filtered through while we were imbibing). They also seem to have a schedule of food trucks, since there isn't a lot of fast and easy food in the area. We got some delicious loaded tater tots when we were there! This place has everything you'd need. Indoor or outdoor seating. Dogs allowed. Rotating beer list. Food trucks almost all day every day. Cheerful attentive staff. But what they don't have is comfortable chairs. I get it, chairs seem like a minor issue. But if you're there for trivia or just to read a magazine while drinking, comfort would be nice. And the chairs here are...well to be blunt they're terrible. They're thin, plain, metal, so in the winter they're freezing and in the summer the back of your legs fry. They're too deep to sit upright and too shallow to lean back, somehow at the same time. They make a ton of noise when you fidget and you're constantly fidgeting because you're uncomfortable. Last time we visited I ended up standing while I finished my beer. It was more comfortable. I live within walking distance but I probably won't be back. Darn. read more

What can you say about a place that has a full tap wall of Colorado beers and wine a friendly and knowledgable staff and the option of sitting indoors or out. I travel the country on business and I love craft beer so I am always on the lookout whenever Im in a new area. I found this place quite by accident and came by later that evening. They dont serve food but they seem to have a different food truck each night so bonus on even a variety food as well as quality beers. They even managed to have some limited run beers that you usually have to search out so that was awesome. It was later in the evening and most of the locals seem to have their dogs with then and they did mention they were kid friendly as well. Any way, I will keep this place in my back pocket for the next time Im in town. read more

Bartender/Owner isn't really friendly at all. Knows beers maybe but the place doesn't have any attractions. Some table games are around but not much to do. Small tvs needs to invest in some more. read more

What a great venue! This bar is awesome. They have a variety of beers and food, but what I love the most is how group friendly they are. I have done a few large group events in their back room, and Dave is incredible. This is a perfect venue to bring your dog, relax, converse, and just enjoy an evening after a long day of work. Great selection of beers and fantastic bartenders. This is one of my favorite spots to hit up after a hike for some tasty local brews.

Not a very busy Sunday evening and my husband stood at the bar with two dirty glasses for about 10 minutes while continually being ignored by the three waitstaff. He finally had to force one lady to acknowledge him so he can ask to close out. By that time I was standing behind him and saw how everyone wouldn't look him in the eye let alone acknowledge he was there. When I asked if there was a reason why they were ignoring him all that time, I got an, "oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know." Right. Hire better people who understand customer service. This was our second time there and quite the opposite experience from the first. Probably makes a difference when the owner is on site. Very disappointed overall. Way to make your customers feel like they shouldn't walk in the door. read more

Traveling in from Houston and found Max Taps while looking for local craft brews. What a great place and a huge tap wall. The bartenders were very knowledgeable and know all beer styles. It was so great we came back the next night. Both nights we had great food from the food trucks and even a band one night. Wish we were in town for Geeks who Drink trivia night. We will definitely be back when we travel back to Denver. read more

Love, Love, Love this place! While visiting family, I visited Max Taps and loved everything about it. I am not a huge beer drinker but found that they serve wine as well. They also have food trucks daily. That's awesome!!! Oh and last but surely not least, this is a DOG FRIENDLY establishment. This place is great! We go here every weekend and love the beer selection! It's nice to go to one place and be able to have different beers from all over Colorado. They also have Colorado wine which is nice too if you don't feel like beer. The customer service is great and very attentive. Dogs are allowed in only one section so if you are not into sharing your down time with other peoples dogs you don't have to. So many choices can't wait to go back. Boring local bar with ok beer selection. Attracts a seedy crowd at night (how many times will I be asked about coke in parking lot?) and the bartenders are too busy flirting with the sluttiest chicks to actually refill your beer. Sucks that it's basically the only choice for a late drink on the weekend, since every other spot around town is either closed or shittier service. There's a cool irony to how much the bartenders don't care, but equally annoying since they genuinely can't even pour a beer without a full inch of head on it. Basically a rip off unless you like sipping foam. Sad little spot, hoping it gets bought out by someone who has a clue. read more

Having a great Colorado beer selection is unfortunately where the positives end. Waitstaff is slow and inattentive. Our waitress spent half the night sitting at a table looking at a laptop while our glasses sat empty. Finally had to go to the bar to pay the check. Men's room is weirdly laid out - two urinals squashed together with barely enough room to stand shoulder to shoulder with another dude. Tiny glass of mediocre wine is way over priced at $9. I give them 6 months without major changes. Probably not coming back. read more

Dave and his staff are authentic folks that contribute to the community and offer the locals a taste of the state. If you have a particular brewery or beer you like they are receptive to carrying that beer. On the flip side, they are open to suggestions to make their place better for future experiences.
