Vienna Bratwurst over Red Cabbage with Potato Salad and a great German Beer
Jim R.

Fun, alive restaurant with both inside and outside seating. A wall of beer taps great you when you go inside with a giant menu above them explaining what they have. Mostly German but some US. If you haven't tried many German, here's your chance. Size-wise from small to Boot ! Another area has a giant menu above the cash register showing all the food choices - too many to explain here. You order at each of these stations. You take your drink order with you and they bring your food order to your table. We enjoyed both the beers as well as the German food selections we had - some on rolls some not. Too busy eating to take many pictures. Great to try out!

Been passing by here few times and today was the occasion, unplanned, impromptu stop. Place was packed with lots of noise on Sat afternoon. With Dog Haus nect door, parking was full but was able to find one easily. Food and alcohol are ordered at two different areas. Its huge area but all seems to be flowing effortlessly. Didn't get to try the outdoor biergarten this time. We ended up getting Biergarten burger and the Rueben with side of fries. All were good especially the fries. Meat on rueben was bit skimpy but burgers were decent size. ~~ Great place to hang out with friends and family ~~

A family friendly place- we didn't have family with us but still it is a good to know for when one does. Beer selection was just okay as far as I was concerned but I am not the real beer aficionado. We sat at the bar and service was great. I sampled a few of the beers before settling on my 1st selection. Food is ordered at a different counter but then they give you a buzzer to place on a marker so they know where to find you when food is ready. We got knackwurst and the sliders. I really enjoyed the sliders. They were made with pork and beef. Usually onions are on them but they put them on the side for me. Very nice.

What a fun and welcoming place. I'm not a fan of German beers but now that I've tasted freshly brewed, I'm now a fan. Great food and dog friendly patio makes this one of my favorite breweries in the area.

Come on down and try the Schwarzbier! It is as dark as my soul in appearance but light and smooth on the palate. I am not a fan of coffee beer but it was so subtle on this guy that I was sold on first sip. As always I have to give a huge shout out to the staff, at their worst they make you feel welcome but I have only seen them at their best and they always make me feel super cared for. I joke with my friends that I feel like Norm and this is my Cheers and that is 100% because of the staff behind the bar! They are really why I keep coming back. If Ryan's tum tum could tolerate gluten he too would love this place! Love this place, come by and you will too!

I really wish I could 5-star Prost Brewing. The building is so nice and open. They've got tons of seating both inside and outside. The outdoor seats have heat lamps above the table and they also have seats that circle around a fire. It is a very nice spot You can bring your dogs, and it is fairly kid friendly too since there is room for them to run around outside. They have bowls for dogs right by where you can get water. Prost Brewing has got lots of drink options. I tried their hefeweizen beer and the pear cider from stem. Besides beers they do have cocktails as well running around $10 each. The beers are usually about $7.50 each. The reason that I can't 5-star Prost Brewing is because the tomatoes in my chicken doner were bad. I had to take them out in order to eat them. They tasted stale like it had oxidation. I'm guessing they have been prepped and then put in the fridge in a container that wasn't sealed and started to absorb all the flavors inside of the fridge. My smashers were good though. They are just like a loaded baked potato but instead of just one big potato it was a bunch of mini ones. I honestly would like to come back and try more of their food because German food is not very common to come by. I would still come back, it's a nice place to hang out!

Order at a counter, then spread out on long tables! We ate like kings for entrees & desserts, and played card games on the tables. Great family fun, with Germanic overtones. Prost!

Prost is such a nice and casual laid back spot. We love a pretzel as an app and the sausages for a meal. The beer is always good and we love the other n/a, wine, and cocktail options they have! It's always easy to bring kids and big groups. Staff is always friendly!

Met up with a friend this weekend for a quick drink out on the patio. The line looked long, but the service was quick and all the staff super friendly. While I'm glad some places are kid friendly, the amount of young kids both inside and outside running wild and unsupervised was staggering. Our young boxer was better controlled and better behaved than many of the kids there. :\ I've always like Prost's beers and love that there is a location closer to home to enjoy it, but next time will plan a visit later in the evening to hopefully skip out on the under 21 crowd taking over the patio and the game area.

Each time I've been here the service has been quick and friendly. The atmosphere is fun and there are always kids and dogs which is a good sign. There is cornhole and other games in the yard but unfortunately most of the time people let their kids take over without paying attention (so they stay there for hours without being aware adults actually want to play) and it's impossible to play an actual game, haha. The food is always good and comes out pretty quickly even when they're busy. The selection of dark beer was nonexistent until a short time ago and they added a porter and stout. I hope it stays!

Great food, Beere and atmosphere. Sitting outside in the sunshine with a beer and Currywurst is almost like being in Germany.

Ask the Community - Prost Brewing

Is the pretzel dairy free or is it made with butter?

Hi Nancy, the pretzel contains buttermilk and is brushed with butter after cooking.

Is any of the outdoor seating shaded?

Yes, they have shaded and covered areas available.

Are any of your food items available as gluten free?

I think the bratwurst would be if you order it without the bun

Came out from Philadelphia and visited with my parents…read more I forgot my ID and the waiter carded me and would not serve me without it. I am 34 years old with a 6 inch beard. The waiter did not card my parents (ageism) The waiter did not card other patrons that appeared to be maybe 40 years old. I understand by law the brewery should card every patron so I cannot be too upset I was not served. But it was annoying that the waiter did not ask other people for ID but demanded it from me. My biggest complaint is that on a Thursday and noon the location was out of 4-5 beers (all of the brews my Dad and I wanted to try. I understand I could not try draft on premises but even if I brought my ID they did not have anything I wanted to try) They only had the super mainstream beers available that I can get from my local grocery store. They were also out of all crowler cans....so we could not even take out one of those in any brew. (I have visited maybe 50 breweries and literally none of them have ever been "out of cans" before.) The beer to go offered again was only the mainstream beers you could get anywhere. When we asked why they were out of so many beers they said they had a busy weekend..... again I have been to many breweries and guarantee I have been to busier breweries and they never ran out of so much beer. Again we went on a Thursday, so the 'busy weekend' excuse is fairly ridiculous since they had 3-4 days to restock after said 'busy weekend' It would be one thing if this location only served beer but they also brew, produce, can and offer tours of the brewery at this location. I cannot imagine such poor business practices that a location like this would run out of half the beers they offer during the weekend and not bother to replenish or restock any of them before Thursday (4 days later) The Mac and cheese I ordered was p good.. The location was nice and clean with a cool cabin environment. The waiter was nice enough but also fairly slow with service. It took maybe 25 minutes to learn they were out of all the beers we were interested in. We would ask for one, he would waddle over to the bar, eventually come back and say they are out of that one. We would ask for another. Repeat 4-5 times. The waiter did not specify when we sat down that they were out of any beers and did not say them all at once. The waiter also did not provide us with the daily specials. But we could hear this being present the 3 parties who came in after us with those specials. On the way out I asked the guy at the front store why they were out of so many beers and crowlers. He just stared blankly past me like he smoked 5 joints before work and never provided me an answer. Overall the visit was very disappointing. I can easily get over the fact I couldn't drink because my mistake leaving my ID at home, but the fact they were out of 5 beers, the waiter's lack of initiative to inform us of what was unavailable, repeated trips to the bar without saying what was out, waiter's lack of initiative to inform us of the specials, age discrimination by not carding all patrons (which is illegal) and being out of crowler cans made the trip not worth my time and extremely disappointing. I will not be returning. My parents who for the last 3-5 years have had a yearly club gathering at the location with 30-50 patrons will not be returning. The visit made me disappointed.

We were welcomed and our beertender answered our questions. I had to look over their dark beers. I got the "A Stout by St. James" on nitro. A dry Irish stout with the lovely waterfall from the nitro was placed in front of me. All my favorite qualities with a nice dark chocolate bitter at the end. My husband had "All the Hop Things" IPA, a DDH with Citra, Eureka, Idaho 7 and Eldorado. He was a happy camper. We even had the opportunity to chat with James, himself. They have a nice amount of seating both inside and out. There is even a small seating area out the back door of the space as well. I noticed lots of fun activities on their calendar. We arrived a few minutes after opening time on a Sunday, confirmed that our dog was welcome both inside and on the front patio and rear beer garden, and got a spot in the sunshine out front. It was very quiet when we arrived, but customers began to arrive pretty quickly, and soon the patio was full of happy human and canine customers, and several inside tables were taken. The very pleasant beertender answered my questions about the establishment and the beer. We ordered a pizza and a meatball sub from Walter's a couple of doors away, and were pretty wowed by the quality of both. We were impressed that most if not all of the beers they make here are gluten-free (we aren't gluten intolerant, but it's good to see that they take all customers' needs into account). It's quite unusual to see Delirium Tremens beer from Brouwerij Huyghe in Belgium on the beer menu - I haven't had it in years and may well order one the next time I go. There's a shelf full of games if you care to play one, and they have events in the evenings, including Magic: The Gathering on the second Monday of each month. We'll try to get our sons and their partners to join us for an evening of Magic here some time.

It features tender, butter-poached jumbo shrimp with a subtle kick from the Calabrian chili, balanced by artichoke and a bright Chablis spritz, all served with toasted focaccia. While it's meant for sharing, I had it as my entrée and it was satisfying and packed with flavor. I paired it with the prickly pear margarita with tequila, which was as beautiful as it was delicious. It's a vibrant pink, lightly sweet, slightly tart, and incredibly refreshing drink. Definitely a standout cocktail! My server was friendly and attentive throughout, which made the experience even better. Another fantastic visit all around. ----- Stopped by Postino Highland Park solo one evening and really enjoyed the experience. Parking was easy, and the atmosphere was ideal for an evening out with its dim lighting, candlelit tables, and a cozy, relaxed vibe. Service was fast and friendly, even dining alone, which I appreciated. I ordered the smoked salmon board and a glass of Prosecco. The board included both cold and hot smoked salmon, whipped feta, cucumber, pickled onions, cornichons, crispy capers, a baby Caesar salad, and crostini. Everything was fresh and well prepared. The baby Caesar was beautifully balanced, and the whipped feta was excellent. While the hot smoked salmon wasn't quite my preference (I would've personally enjoyed the board more with just the cold smoked salmon), that's more of a personal taste than a flaw in execution. Overall, it's a great spot for a casual solo dinner or a low-key night out. I'd come back, especially when I'm in the mood for cozy vibes and a relaxed evening. Still a solid choice for good food, good vibes, and a drink after a long day.
