Small but it was fun bowling here today. The lanes are very nice and the approaches allow a little slip without stickiness. Was here with a travel bowling league, Match Club. Pleasant drive up here to this nice little down. The interior is clean and roomy. Inviting. The exterior is a shared building without much signage or beauty. Huge parking lot provides far more parking space than needed. Staff was very helpful and nice. Had the large Chicken Chef Salad. It was quite tasty and fresh. The chicken was just right and the bacon...well, come on, never disappoints. Hope you get to bowl there in a league or open play. There is a youth program as well. read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I've lived in Grass Valley for over 40 years and have been to this place with my kids for almost 25 years and I will never go again. Worst service and the rudest people I have ever encountered. If you have a service dog....forget about it; they will shame you and accuse you of faking it. Awful, awful people. read more

I'm so bummed to be writing such a bad review, but GEEZ! We were recently here for a birthday party with 7-8 year olds. We were some of the only people there, as it was a morning party. The kids were excited, but not excessively rambunctious or anything, and overall really positive and respectful. However, the older woman working behind the shoe counter reprimanded them multiple times for totally trivial things that weren't hurting anything or bothering any one. She was extremely unpleasant to deal with when needed. The other employee that day who was running the kitchen also seemed irritated to be there that day, refusing to give the kids drinks before 11 when they officially opened the cafe?! He was short and cold with the little guys, despite them using their best manners! Later when I went to order food, he stopped "cooking" (putting a few chicken strips into the microwave) to take my order and went back to touching the food after taking my cash without washing his hands!!! Reached in and grabbed a whole handful of French fries out of the bag, so gross!! The lack of basic common courtesy and hygiene was absurd and we will absolutely never be back. But hopefully the county pops in sooner than later to remind them of how to properly handle food! read more

I'm very disappointed that this facility is not inclusive to the disabled community. There were no bowler assistance ramps. Some people can't hold/roll a bowling ball without assistance. Bowling should be accessible to everyone! read more

The manager on duty was the rudest woman ever!! I had my daughter's 7 year old birthday party there and paid 300 for their "party + pizza package". The manager tried to charge me an extra 150 dollars because for the last 20 minutes of our time slot, the adults rented some extra shoes so we could play (the kids were over it at this point). She also brought out a dirty rag, spray bottle, broom and dust pan and told me I needed to clean up after ourselves (we already cleaned up and it was t even a mess). The audacity of that woman to tell me I had to spray everything down (she was rude af about it too) after I was charged 450 dollars is absolutely insane. We got into a yelling match (in front of customers, kids, EVERYBODY- she had people trying to check in while she was screaming at me). That lady is so incredibly rude- I can't believe they let her be a manager! I will never support this place again. read more

I have bowled here many times over the last couple decades. It's everything you could ask for in a bowling alley. Delicious fried junk food at the snack bar. A good selection of fair-priced beer on tap or by bottle. Overall a very fun atmosphere. It's a perfect place to go with a group of friends and bowl, snack, and hang out. This establishment wins for most discreet bowling alley in the world. From the street it appears as an abandoned IGA supermarket. And as it turns out, they actually built a bowling alley in an abandoned IGA supermarket. I'm very intuitive. Anyways, if you can figure out how to get in, after that it's not so bad. I see on other reviews that the staff is "unfriendly"... I've been on a couple of occasions and have never had a problem, then again, I can't really foresee a situation in which much assistance would be required in a bowling setting. Give money, take shoes and your set. Right? Right. Plus I love that they have the bumpers that go up and down automatically for my bowling extraordinaire 2 year old... no separate lane required. Bonus. It's never been too crowded, no crazy lines and no creepies lurking about apart from the young tweaker on the pay phone with an unfortunate twitch. My mom and I came to bowl here the other day and we had a great time. Granted it was a Sunday, and mid-day so we didn't have to worry about getting a lane. The staff wasn't overtly unfriendly, but they really didn't go out of their way to accommodate us either (although I haven't found a bowling alley that does...so I didn't think this was out of the norm). The snack bar was great, and offered a wide variety of grill food. I got the nacho supreme, and my mom got two tacos. Pretty standard, but I didn't go there to eat, so I didn't really care about their culinary delights all that much. They have a full bar, all I got was a diet coke, so I can't rate the bartender. The wall decoration is extremely lacking and is full of poster board ads from local businesses...I feel like there could be a better way of displaying advertisements without looking so tacky, but I haven't given it too much thought. Either way, I had a great time here, and killed my mom at bowling, so three stars for you Prosperity! read more

i beg to differ I think they are always super friendly,busy yes so its hard to get service sometimes,but that's okay in my book! When i went and they weren't busy one of the guys actually came over and gave us some good tips on bowling(it was our first time,I sucked!) They have GREAT food for a bowling ally,and an okay bar for all my drinking friends too! My family has been here many times together. My wife and I have also been on a bunch of date nights. The staff is so so. Some nights they appear in VERY bad mood. Others times they are ok, but generally pretty rude if you're not in a league or a regular. Its hard to find a good family place to go, that is priced reasonably and can make us want to come back... Prosperity Lanes is none of these things.This bowling alley ,unfortunately, is the only one in town, and we can't drive down the hill to Roseville any time we want to go bowling. If some HUGE changes were made, including employees who appear like they are happy to be working, maybe the rating will go up. They don't seem to realize that to go bowling for our family, it is 20 for the lane for an hour. Then 2.50 per shoe rental. That's 5 of us, and 12.50. One hour is barely enough time for one game. So if we do 2 hours, and shoes, it ends up being 52.50! For bowling maybe 2 and a half games! Families can't really do this too often up here, and they don't seem to think about that. So, as far as the quality of the actual experience its fine. Its a clean, standard bowling alley. However, after going t here roughly 15 times, I noticed that they will never offer any kind of a deal to people who go often, to incentivize more visits, and when MOST of the staff members are asked questions, they answer half ass or without care, and that has happened on more than one occasion. TL:DR Standard bowing experience, but pricey and staff are so-so. P.S. By "offer a deal" I mean have any sort of deduced pricing. They won't offer any sort of "go x times get 1 free" or half off next visit, or anything that most sports places and gyms offer. I'm not saying they have to, but the fact that I mentioned and proved that I go often coupled with their flat out refusal to incentivize more visits seems like they really dont care for additional visits. read more

Until recently bowling hasn't really been our thing, after one trip to prosperity lanes has changed that. Every time we go with the kids or as date night we always have so much fun. Friday nights can be a little busy but the fun you will have is worth the wait. The staff are a lot of fun read more

I called ahead in an attempt to reserve a lane and was told it was not allowed but that there would be no problem getting a lane at the time we needed one. However, when we arrived we were told there were no lanes available due to the league starting soon after we arrived. We waited for a lane and paid for 2 games ea for 5 boys. The boys put their names in themselves and mistakenly put in two extra names. I am still not sure how this happened since the bowling alley should have only allowed slots for 5 names. Then, about half way through the 1st game, the bowling alley employee approached us accusing us of trying to steal extra games and informed us that the game was going to shut off early. After talking with the boys, we explained to the employee that since it was possible to add extra names, the boys had thought we had paid per hour not per game. We explained that the boys should not be penalized for this misunderstanding, however, the man was extremely harsh and was not willing to budge. We explained that 3 of the boys who had paid for 2 games, were only able to play 1 1/2 but again they were unwilling to make any accommodations. We had each paid for our own games and the alley should not have shut off 3 players games to accommodate the 2 players who had put their name in twice. We left extremely unhappy. We will be heading into Auburn or Rocklin from here on out. read more

Spent one of our rainy camping days bowling instead. What a great place! Somewhat crowded due to the rain, but fantastic in many ways. They were able to accommodate our large group (6 kids, 8 adults) very quickly. The women working the front counter was very nice and even came to assist us in getting all the names in right. Like others have said, it looks like an abandoned super market from the outside. On the inside, the equipment appears fairly new and well maintained. I really liked the automatic bumpers. We were able to share one lane with my 5 year old grand daughter. The system worked perfectly. All in all, a very cheap way to spend quality time with the family. read more

I've been here twice. Both times I've sucked at bowling, so I don't really go for fun. Haha. First time I was with friends and everyone was friendly and ready to help! So disappointed. This place had such horrible reviews but we had a date here anyways. Had such a great time and the guy who helped us out was amazing. We got to the car and thought... "Why do they have such bad reviews? That was great." Shortly after pulling out of the parking lot we had to make an urgent restroom stop and ran back in. Now sitting here on the toilet (sorry for the TMI) I now realize why they got such bad customer service reviews. The staff here is super rude and unhelpful and the lanes have a ton of issues. I went in as a party of 10 for my birthday. We had to wait for about 10 minutes before someone even showed up to the counter. We ended up paying for 2 lanes and 10 pairs of shoes. Right after we started bowling we were having issues with our lanes. They moved us to another set of lanes where we again had issues. After being moved for the third time we had had enough. We asked for a full refund which the staff was not willing to do. We had to wait for them to call the manager (who wasn't there) which took another 30 minutes. We were finally able to get a refund, but they shorted us $10. Overall, we were there for almost 2 hours even though we only wanted to bowl for one hour. read more

Went on a rainy day. It wasnt too busy except for the senior bowlers who took up 4 lanes. The snack bar was good. The man who helped us was very UNfriendly. He looked bored and just gave attitude. He must have been is his 50-60s not a teenager giving attitude. But we had fun. Stayed 2 hrs. Only place in the area with a bowling alley.
