Coyote Hole Ciderworks is a great location to gather with friends and/or family. There is indoor seating and loads of outdoor seating (both covered and uncovered). They usually have eight different ciders on tap ranging from their flagship Oma Smith (green apple) and HPA, to their seasonals such as Apparition (pumpkin) and Citrus Spring (strawberry and lemon). In addition to cider, they also serve wine from Lake Anna Winery. Occasionally, they will feature sangria and infused ciders with flavors such as jalapeño. The cidery does not sell food, but you are welcome to bring your own food or order from one of the food trucks that they occasionally have on site. Additional information of note, they are pet friendly and kid friendly. There are numerous lawn games that make for great competition including Connect Four, giant Jenga, and corn hole. Speaking of competition, you should absolutely visit on Thursday nights for trivia night, which begins at 6pm. Awful experience. Disappointed. Horrible customer service. It was $3 to sample - they did not give a small taste to sample a slushee which was disappointing. We got a big slushee for $11 and did not like it at all; took one sip and requested for something else since nobody including myself didn't like the horrible taste of the slushee and they did not give us money back nor switch it out for a different product. We have enjoyed many visits to Coyote Hole. All the ciders I've had have been delicious (not a fan of sours, but my daughter loves them) and my husband enjoys the beers. Was great to do a flight of all 16 available for 4 of us to sample. Then we could pick which ones to get a bigger size if. BBQ pork panini was very yummy as was the pretzel. We capped off my 'bachelorette weekend' at the lake with a cider tasting at Coyote Hole. I had never been to a cidery before so I was super excited to cap off our day of wine tasting with a few ciders. We ended up doing a full flight and I think everyone loved everything! The best part was the outdoor area where we got to enjoy some live music by a very friendly musician -- my friends and I said he looked like a combo between Keith Urban and Norman Reedus (Darryl from the Walking Dead). The bartender was also super sweet and explained all the ciders to us before we took them outside to imbibe. The cider pours for the flight were very generous, so luckily there was also a food truck outside - Thrill of the Grill, who had the best nachos I'VE. EVER. HAD. (a little pricey at $10) but worth it because our group went back to order more! We will definitely be back when we are in town again. read more

It's a beautiful early fall day for the Grand Opening of Mineral Brewing Company at Coyote Hole Craft Beverages. The Kolsch is fabulous!! I'm not an IPA fan but if I had to choose between the two, Tropical Escapade is better than the Hooked Hazy IPA. It's more citrusy and not as bitter. Blended with peaches, vanilla and dry hopped with Citra and Galaxy. I just needed a light snack and their cider wings never disappoint. My favorite flatbread is the bacon lovers, but they are all a plate of yummy goodness-try one. Kiddos can play any number of lawn games while parents have a little respite. read more

Stopped by on a visit to Lake Anna. If you're nearby you should definitely stop by and try a flight or pint. All of the ciders taste great. They also have events periodically, so make sure you see what's happening if you're planning a visit. Thursday nights are trivia and they occasionally show movies on a screen they have on the property. You can also get BBQ from a local place (191 Smokery BBQ) that's cooked on site. When I was there the place was so cute and decorated for Halloween. You can tell the owners put a lot of care into creating a welcoming environment for tasters. 7 cider tasting was big enough to share between 2 people - maybe a little over priced at $20, but still really good. The people who say all the cider tastes the same have no palate. They are all very different and there's something for everyone (except those annoying people who must have something that tastes like carbonated sugar water). The location is understated and there was no food truck on a Friday evening which would have been nice. But the outdoor picnic tables are nice and shaded. Love that they do growlers and cans. Decided to take a little trip out here on St. Patty's Day to get away from the Richmond drunk scene. We started out with a flight of 8 ciders. The flight was $20, but they offered a 5 cider flight also. The service was great, the place was packed but we never waited a long time to get anything. When we first got there, there was no available seating, but within a few minutes a table opened up. It seemed like that the whole day - no one waited overly long to sit. Now for the ciders: I hate to be this person, but I did not taste a large distinction between any of them. If you like that taste- this would probably be great for you, but I prefer to have some variety. The peach cider was not overly peachy, I think I would've liked it a tad more if it had more peach notes. They had just released their Bel-Hole - and, while I liked it, I did not end up getting one. My absolute favorite was the Blackberry Pear. I wish they sold it in cans, but they're only canning two of their ciders currently. Their pumpkin one was very unique, and I think it'd be a great Fall drink. I think we'll venture back out on a day when its not raining to take advantage of their outdoor area. Oh! I almost forgot. They allow you to bring your own food, so you can do a little picnic - but they offer a few snacks - chips, salsa, crackers, cheese. There is a Foodlion right up the street so we'll grab a few snacks first next time. read more

So you need to go to other cideries to appreciate Coyote Hole. The ciders are tastier and at a lower price point than others. The ambience is ok. The whole place lacks pretension. Staff is friendly and helpful. They sell entire boxes of wheat thins , tortilla chips, two kinds of laughing cow cheese (herbed and plain), nacho cheese dip, salsa. Next day cider with pork bbq was amazing. Same day cider with crackers was underwhelming. Would strongly recommend you bring hot food with you and make a picnic with your cider pairings. By itself, this and other ciders are super dry and meh, but with food, they hold up very well. We liked their Sixteen Thirty pear cider and their Citrus Spring cider. read more

Although we are more winery and brewery people of always heard of this place and our group tried it today. What a pleasant surprise. We all anyways thought of cider to be overly sweet but the assortment here was very good and not overly sweet. The venue is very nice and there's plenty of outdoor seating. There was no entertainment but they do have a stage so I'm sure they have some at times. They also have BBQ available but we ate before so we didn't try it. We had a wonderful Saturday afternoon here.. the bartender was so pleasant. she explained all of the hard ciders and ones that might be paired with the barbecue food truck tender ribs and smoked chicken..
