Pretty disappointed in how bad our visit was. The staff were pretty terrible the entire service through. Host staff barely acknowledge you. The wait staff you pretty much have to harass to get water or ketchup or a drink or a napkin or a plate because you have a shareable dish or literally anything. Luckily the food tasted good, but sadly the way it came out was also ridiculous. We ordered a pizza and a sub. The pizza came out first then literally 25mins later, when everyone else had finished eating, my sub arrived at the table. The kids burger is pitiful, but fine. The drinks are strong so that's a plus! I had the sky-tini and an espresso martini both were strong and tasted fine overall. Good little bar on the Main Street with comfortable stools with plenty of drink options. I am only here for a beer and with Peroni on tab, I like it already. It's connected to the restaurant "Castiglia's. Worth a visit. Stop by and give them a try. Enjoy! read more

Fredericksburg's only rooftop bar ! The best place to have a nice slice or salad at lunch and the vibes on the weekends are great too because they have live music and DJs. Stopped in for lunch and tried the chicken salad sandwich and calamari appetizer -- both were excellent! The chicken salad was fresh, flavorful. Served on toasted bread, it hit all the right notes for a satisfying, classic lunch. The calamari was crispy, tender, and not at all greasy. It came with a flavorful dipping sauce. read more

Didn't even get to try the food. Seemed like a California pizza kitchen vibe but we got seated by the hostess. After we sat we realized that they didn't have a very strong air conditioner as we were sweating while sitting at the table. We asked the server if we could me because maybe we were to close to the open kitchen but it didn't work. The server even agreed that it was too hot in place also. Checked out the Sky Bar, a rooftop bar located above the Italian restaurant Castiglia. When we got there, it was already a bit busy and we weren't able to get a table for our larger group, but we found a couple spots at the bar. The bartenders were great even though it was busy and kept getting busier as we were there. I ordered a pina colada, because it was super hot and it sounded amazing. It was a great choice - they made it fresh and it was perfect! We didn't order any food while there, but everything we saw looked amazing, from pizza to pasta to a cheese and charcuterie tower. There was a DJ playing some great music so we enjoyed just hanging out by the bar for a bit. As it started to get more crowded, we decided to move to the restaurant downstairs and noticed they'd started to charge a cover to come up to the rooftop. The vibe was a little weird as it was a mix of people of all ages enjoying dinner as well as a younger crowd that seemed to be looking to start bar hopping for the night. The ambiance of the sky bar is very much that of a suburban meet up spot. The music is from the early 2000s, the atmosphere is open (punt not intended) and inviting however the staff give a no nonsense attitude. The drinks are fairly priced for what you get. Unfortunately we did not have a good time. Bar was unorganized and the wait was much longer than we were informed it was going to be. We have been here before and had no issues. We are hoping this place gets it together because it has a lot of potential. To add more detail we walked in and used the restroom's and they were a mess. When we preceded upstairs the wait was 25 minutes. We added our names and grabbed a drink. The wait time at the bar was about 15 minutes. We finally got our drinks and stood and waited. Yet another place I've had bookmarked for a while and finally we ventured off and gave it a try. The bar is unassuming from a distance. The space is bigger than you'd expect and have a variety of outdoor seating options with electric heat lamps at the ready. We tried a couple drinks from the the happy hour cocktail menu and unfortunately the margaritas were not the best. Again their version of a Moscow mule was strong but not the best. The happy hour food menu selection was okay. We tried the steak with different side options and both were slightly overcooked but nothing worth returning... after all it WAS at a bar during the end of happy hour. The flavor was decent so that made up for the incorrect temperature. The music selection gets mixed reviews from me because the sound wasn't that great and the speakers were crackling badly. Despite the food and drinks, as a first timer I do plan on returning because I like the atmosphere, the service was great, the space is very chill which makes it worthy enough for a return. I enjoyed the old city scenery and would like to give other menu items a try one day soon. read more
