I spoke with James Holmes and hired this company to do a small landscaping job…read more There were MULTIPLE issues along the way. The end result at this point is that the job was NEVER COMPLETED and JAMES HAS NOT RETURNED A $748.50 PAYMENT I made for half the invoice. ISSUES 1) James didn't put me on the calendar for March 16th after we spoke the day before and him saying he would stop by to check out the work I was wanting to have done. Okay... no big deal. It was a Sunday and he came the next day. Followed up with a professional quote via email soon after. 2) On the day work was scheduled to be done, April 5th, I didn't hear from James until I reached out via text to see if he was coming. He replied that he had been looking for my number... by this point we had spoken on the phone, texted, the company had emailed me and I had paid $748.50 for half the job to James on Venmo. There were multiple, multiple ways to contact me. Okay... it was raining and the explanation he gave of sod not being available due to the heavy rain checked out. 3) April 14th James said he needed to issue me a refund because he wouldn't be able to complete the job. He was dealing with a tragedy in the family and was taking time away from work. I was supposed to receive a refund in 7-9 business days. Okay... obviously a tragedy. I would have even understood some delay in him processing the refund. 4) When the refund didn't show up after 13 business days, I texted James. He had always been responsive prior to this but all of a sudden was unreachable...except when I called from a different number. I tried to make him refunding the money as easy as possible... I sent him a Venmo request to send the payment back. I emailed the invoice I had paid. When I did speak with him after calling from a different phone number, he said he would look into the refund issue. IT HAS BEEN MORE THAN 1 MONTH NOW SINCE THE JOB WAS CANCELED AND THE REFUND PROMISED. THE JOB HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED AND THE REFUND HAS NOT BEEN MADE. CALLS, TEXTS AND EMAILS HAVE NOT BEEN RETURNED. In addition to the issues mentioned above, the red flags should have been that the company does not list a physical address and it takes payments on Venmo. I do not recommend you hire this company.

We have we used Great Dane Tree Experts five times in the past two and one-half years for jobs…read morebetween one and three days. For a recent job I also obtained estimates from two other professional tree services and found Dane's pricing was competitive. The work Dane and his staff do is excellent. They have always shown up on time, appear to work meticulously and safely and always leave the area looking better than it had when they arrived. The 3-day job they completed for me today was complex and I saw Dane here a good part of each day. The heavy wood close to structures, landscaping and other trees was lowered to the ground using ropes in order to keep control of it and prevent damage. During their work I have had the most contact with James and Scott, who have both always been very polite, considerate of our property, displayed excellent work ethics and watched out for out pets. It is without hesitation I recommend this business.

My initial call for an estimate was easy, and scheduling was very organized and easy. The estimator showed up on time and gave several options on the quote, and provided a business card in the event of questions. After signing the invoice, my removal was scheduled. I received several reminder notifications and the crew arrived on time. The removal was very professional and they had all of the equipment to keep it safe and efficient. The entire tree was removed hours ahead of the estimated time, and this crew did an incredible job with cleanup. There was not so much as a twig left in my yard on completion. This company is really outstanding in their focus on the customer and the professional manner in which they operate. I'm very confident in their abilities and they were truly professional in all aspects of what they do. The owner of this company must be very proud of what they built. As a consumer, I wish every contractor experience matched this one.

I was promised a…read morereturn to complete stump removal in SEPTEMBER 2023 and reached out numerous times to Joshua, who finally responded in late October that he had "family emergency". If is now December 31, 2023 and only received a pathetic, accusatory response from someone (just before holiday) after a BBB complaint was filed. Not worth my time to even respond because if they're not issuing my requested refund, then they have nothing worthwhile to listen to. I made HUGE MISTAKE paying in full, thinking they'd actually do the right thing. Furthermore and equally unethical, I discovered they falsely put a positive review from me on their website. I was completely shocked and outraged that they would COMPLETELY MAKE UP A REVIEW, especially since I am so unhappy with this company. I guess if they have to make up good reviews, they're clearly do bad work. A company that does satisfactory work gets real reviews - why not ask your customers to complete surveys or reviews. Unfortunately, I looked at these reviews when hiring and BBB is now useless.
