When you came out, I told you I still had some other companies coming out that day to give me a quote.....of course I did not commit to your quote right away because I had no way on knowing if it was a good quote without seeing quotes from other companies. I also called you the next day as I said I would as soon as I got up, not late in the day as you say.....I left you two voicemails and sent you two text messages stating I wanted you to do the work......you NEVER responded to any of them....how long does it take to return my call or respond to my texts?......and now you're trying to make it look like I was leading you on or something.....that's more than sad, it's a lie!!!!! I got three quotes, all from Yelp! This was the least expensive of the three so I chose them. I was at work so I asked my brother to house sit while they were there. He said they showed up on time, were friendly, hard workers, finished within the hour they said it would take, and cleaned up after themselves. A great job for a good price. We had a tree in the front yard that needed removed completely. They did a great job removing the tree. They came back a couple days later to grind the stump. Standard grind depth 6-8in below the ground level. Stump removal was "completed" but didn't do much of a clean up job. We even voiced concerned that the depth was not sufficient while they were still working and told him our plans to regrade the area to match the rest of the yard. We had to clean the shavings they refused to clean up. If they would have cleaned up the shavings we could have seen the stump was not at standard depth and 3 huge parts not ground at all. We reached back out to see how much it would cost for them to come out to remove the remaining stump. Instead of saying we cannot complete, they strung us along for two weeks. First stating that he would be out the upcoming weekend. Did not show up or text to say what time or why he didn't show up. Then reached out again; said they would be out Memorial Day weekend. No call or no show again! We sent a final text for a status update and that we need this work to be done in order to sod the yard. In short he said he would not be able to complete. Now have to reach out to additional companies to coordinate to complete. This is horrible customer service and I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

We had quite a few trees down due to a recent tornado. Ruben Tree Service did an amazing job. Not only did they cut the trees, cleaned up any debris, and removed the stump(s). They cleaned up the whole area, you could not tell there was a tornado other than my missing trees. I give them a 5-star rating not only for their hard (and delivered as promised) but also for their work ethic. They cleaned everything and their customer service si amazing. Called to get a quote and Ruben got back to me right away. Gave us a very fair price to take a tree down. Fast, efficient, cleaned up in a short amount of time. Then had a neighbor's tree fall on our roof. The neighborhood called some company that quoted 6k, PLUS the rep said there would be a commission added for himself too!! Neighbor didn't care because he and his tree guy said it was an act of nature. The cost landed all on us! Ended up with roof, gutters, radon pipe repair and tree removal was 4K. The tree was rotted on the inside and snapped above the ground. (A week before we had noticed it leaning, and was about to tell our neighbor but just hadn't caught up to him yet. Now we know, by Ohio insurance law, if you see a neighbor's tree problem...tell them immediately, take photos, and if they don't correct it they are then responsible.) We called Ruben, who came out that day. Said the tree wasn't healthy and was moving on our roof. Apologized he had already sent his crew home, but would switch his morning schedule around as it was an emergency. Came the next morning and cleared the tree from our roof for the cost of taking it totally down, cleaned up and kept our roof safe from additional damage. We then decided to have him remove another tree on our property. Excellent service for the third time! I have referred Ruben and his tree service to a close friend and neighbors. I flew in from Chicago to help my daughter and her husband with their project of cleaning up the yard and trimming some large tree branches around their newly purchased home. I made an appointment to meet someone from Ruben's Tree Services in order to get an estimate and schedule the work on Day 2 of my 6-day visit (Tuesday). I made the appointment before leaving for Columbus. A very nice man came, looked over the work and texted me the quote. This was Wednesday morning. A few hours later, we worked out the price and day and time his crew would come out to do the work. Saturday morning. Perfect, right? Friday, 1pm, get a text. He and his crew can't finish up the project that they were at and because of that, he could not come out on Saturday. I asked about doing some of the work on Saturday when they finished the other job. I asked about Monday. No response to any of my texts after that. No response! He knew that I specifically flew in for this. What was I supposed to do? Call another tree service with only the weekend and Monday left in my trip? Bad enough he cancelled less than a day before he was to come out and do the work. I wish I had reviewed Brian C's review before contacting Ruben's Tree Service. I ended up buying a 8-inch battery operated chain saw and a good pair of loppers and cleared what I could on Sat afternoon and Sunday but the majority of the work required a real chain saw and something that would have allowed me to get 20 feet above the ground.
